Irene Jensen looked Vera Xavier over again, then said in a calm tone, "If I were you, I’d pack my things and leave right now."

"Is this Susan Caldwell’s idea?" Vera Xavier asked her.

Irene Jensen shook her head. "Of course not. Susan hired a formidable consultant. I heard he’s cut several pieces of Emperor Green jade over the years, making him the best in the whole market. You’re no match for Susan, and you’re so beautiful... I’d just hate for your end to be too ugly."

Vera Xavier gave a soft laugh. "You have a lot of confidence in Susan Caldwell, don’t you?"

"Fine, if you won’t listen to my advice, then suit yourself." Irene Jensen turned and walked away after speaking. She had just observed Vera Xavier for a little longer and confirmed that she truly didn’t understand jade gambling. As someone who prided herself on her own looks, she felt it would be a real shame for someone as beautiful as Vera to be ruined here. That was the only reason she had offered a warning.

But from the looks of it, Vera Xavier didn’t appreciate the gesture.

Vera Xavier said lightly, "Whatever your motives were, thank you anyway."

Irene Jensen glanced back at her, and Vera added, "Your kindness will turn ill fortune into good."

Irene Jensen found her words amusing. "You should worry about yourself!"

Vera Xavier just raised an eyebrow and smiled, offering no response.

Meanwhile, Nathaniel Nathan had already led the members of The Phantom Unit to the perimeter of The Jade Market. Shannon Quinn reported from his side, "They’ve entered The Jade Market. It’s crowded right now, which makes it a bad time for us to make a move."

"Can we pinpoint their exact location?" Nathaniel Nathan asked.

Shannon Quinn shook her head. "No, we can only get a general fix on their position. Sir, I have a feeling they have more in store for us by luring us here. The situation is becoming perilous."

Nathaniel Nathan said coldly, "That’s right. They’ve been probing us since the day before yesterday, all to lure us here. They intend to use their local influence and assets to wipe us out in one go, betting that the crowds in the market will make us hesitate."

"So what’s the plan?" Shannon Quinn asked.

Nathaniel Nathan replied expressionlessly with four words: "Use their own trap."

He then whispered a few more words to Shannon. Shannon Quinn’s eyes lit up. She gave a military salute and said, "I’m on it!"

Nathaniel Nathan watched the bustling crowd at The Jade Market and began to ponder another question. ’After the mission is complete, should I buy a few window-cut raw stones to take back and make Vera Xavier happy?’

He mulled over the feasibility of the idea and decided it was doable.

He glanced at Vera Xavier’s photo again. ’I miss her,’ he thought. ’I wonder if she’s read the love letter I sent. Knowing that heartless girl, she probably isn’t thinking of me at all.’

He let out an almost inaudible sigh and made a silent vow. ’One day, I’ll make her miss me as much as I miss her.’

’But for now, completing the mission is the top priority.’

He had always been meticulous and thorough. The drug lords’ appearance here was well within his expectations; he had made arrangements long ago. This time, there would be no escape for them.
