The City's Strongest Son-in-law
Chapter 1217 - 1216: White Jade Python
Just this little guy, can it really be a python? Is it possible that the records of Tuo Shi are incorrect? Or were they intentionally exaggerated?
When they reached the place where the fruit was, the little snake looked at Su Changfeng warily and even hissed slightly.
Earlier, Su Changfeng had eaten the fruit for dinner, and the little snake was extremely distressed. This time, judging by its expression, it seemed determined to prevent Su Changfeng from taking the fruit.
However, Su Changfeng wasn’t concerned at all. He was about to head to the Outer Domain, and such valuable treasures shouldn’t be left behind.
He smacked the little guy on the head and said irritably, "Get lost, are you really that stingy? Don’t you want me to take you out with me?"
The little snake, dizzy from the slap, looked so funny that Chen Qingqing couldn’t help but laugh out loud.
"Brother Changfeng, this little thing is just too cute, way cuter than those kittens and puppies," Chen Qingqing said.
Su Changfeng laughed, and said to the little snake, "This time I’m planning to take you out, to the world you used to live in. Since we have to leave anyway, why hold on to this thing? Why not give it to me, right?"
The little snake seemed very happy to hear this and even helped Su Changfeng pick the fruit.
Su Changfeng was already accustomed to the little creature understanding human speech, and he glared at it without anger, continuing, "Do you have to show off like this? Do you really want to go home so badly?"
The little creature nodded its head repeatedly, a hint of excitement in its demeanor.
Su Changfeng and the others had already eaten quite a bit, so there wasn’t much left. In the end, they only collected about a dozen fruits.
Su Changfeng gave half of them to Chen Qingqing and asked, "Are you sure you want to come with me?"
He had previously told Chen Qingqing that he was going to the Outer Domain and that he wasn’t planning to take her with him because it was an unknown world and he couldn’t guarantee what might happen.
So many people had perished in the Outer Domain, and he naturally didn’t want Chen Qingqing to die meaninglessly there. But Chen Qingqing was adamant, and Su Changfeng couldn’t persuade her otherwise.
Su Changfeng sighed a bit, and asked, "Are you really not afraid of dying?"
"Everyone dies eventually; no one can escape it. What’s there to be afraid of?" Chen Qingqing said matter-of-factly.
Seeing her determined attitude, Su Changfeng didn’t say anything further.
Then, he turned his attention back to the little snake. If he were to take it out of the Infinite Cave, he would need to find a way to hide it, at least so no one would find out, or else what happened to him in the Infinite Cave might not remain a secret.
If others discovered that the things in the Infinite Cave wouldn’t harm him, there’s no telling what might happen.
The little snake seemed to understand Su Changfeng’s concerns and directly slipped into Su Changfeng’s sleeve, wrapping itself around his arm. This way, it could definitely avoid being noticed by others. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
"This little creature is truly remarkable, it even knows what I’m thinking. If only it could talk, then it could tell me what the Outer Domain is really like," Su Changfeng said.
"Brother Changfeng, no matter how remarkable it is, it’s still just an animal. Isn’t it a bit much to expect it to speak human language?" Chen Qingqing said with a cry-laugh expression.
Su Changfeng nodded and couldn’t help but laugh too. That request was indeed a bit excessive, and he was just saying it for the sake of it. If it really could speak human language, he would probably be shocked.
"Alright, let’s get going. Soon we’ll be heading to an entirely different world," Su Changfeng said.
The two of them took only half a day to come out of the Infinite Cave, but once Su Changfeng emerged alive from the Infinite Cave, it stirred up quite a storm in Tuo Shi.
Su Changfeng’s coming and going from the Infinite Cave seemed way too effortless, almost as if he were coming and going from his own home. As for those of the Heavenly Level, they couldn’t help but marvel at Su Changfeng’s prowess.
In just a month, Su Changfeng had brought one surprise and miracle after another to Tuo Shi. Such feats would surely be recorded in Tuo Shi’s illustrious history.
After Su Changfeng and the others emerged, Elder Wu and Yin Zhengyuan met with Su Changfeng immediately.
After having competed against Su Changfeng, Yin Zhengyuan no longer had any trace of his previous underestimation of him. Even though he wasn’t sure how much strength Su Changfeng had used against him, that alone was enough to make him look at Su Changfeng in a new light.
"Do you know what everyone is saying?" Elder Wu asked, smiling at Su Changfeng.
"What?" Su Changfeng looked at Elder Wu with a puzzled expression.
"They’re all spreading the word that the Infinite Cave isn’t as terrifying as they thought. Otherwise, how could you have come out smoothly twice?" Elder Wu said.
Aside from the true Heaven Level experts who had experienced the Infinite Cave, no one else could understand Su Changfeng’s strength. Those who hadn’t passed the Heaven Level test no longer feared the Infinite Cave, and many were even eager to challenge it.
"Doesn’t this suit your intentions?" Su Changfeng raised an eyebrow and asked.
Elder Wu admitted that he did indeed use Su Changfeng to lessen the fear of the Infinite Cave among the people of Tuo Shi. After all, for the development of Tuo Shi, a sufficient number of experts were needed, and to become an expert, one must pass the test of the Infinite Cave.
Tuo Shi had gone a full decade without anyone passing the test of the Infinite Cave, and this situation had been a source of worry for him. However, Su Changfeng’s arrival directly broke this impasse, and many Earth Level experts were finally willing to face the Infinite Cave.
"But as for the Outer Domain, I think you..."
"I’ve made up my mind; I must go." Before Elder Wu could finish his words, Su Changfeng interrupted him.
"Su Changfeng, the future of Tuo Shi depends on you. At this time, there’s no room for you to act on a whim! Staying in Tuo Shi could inspire more people and might bring stronger talents to Tuo Shi. Only you can change Tuo Shi’s situation," Yin Zhengyuan said urgently.
Su Changfeng looked at Yin Zhengyuan in surprise, not expecting him to say such a thing; it truly caught him off guard.
"Elder Yin, I didn’t expect you to actually care about me!" Su Changfeng said.
Yin Zhengyuan shook his head and candidly replied, "I don’t care about you personally, but I care about Tuo Shi’s future. You sending yourself to die like this is a foolish act."
To contend with the Outer Domain, Tuo Shi must have a sufficient number of experts. In Yin Zhengyuan’s eyes, Su Changfeng’s presence not only can inspire those members to become stronger but also can become a backbone in the future great battles.
Possibly, he could even turn the tide. Letting him senselessly send himself to death would be a tremendous waste.
"Since there’s a chance to eradicate potential danger in advance, why not do it? With Tuo Shi’s current strength, do you think it’s possible to cultivate so many Heavenly Level experts in such a short time?" Su Changfeng retorted.
In the last battle against the Outer Domain, they lost a thousand Heavenly Level experts. Can the current Tuo Shi cultivate such a number? And that too when the crisis from the Outer Domain is looming?
