The Crowned Greed: Transmigrated into a Demonic Dragon
Chapter 229: HAWK TUAH!
"Why do I suddenly feel more dizzy than usual…?" Dante wondered as he felt his guts twitching.
For some reason, he wondered how Fafnir was doing right now. That competition was supposed to start soon… or did it start already? Dante wasn't certain about that.
He just hoped that he was doing well. Maybe he'd simply return to Dante if he died, but that wouldn't erase his memories.
Although he wasn't focused on him after Elizabeth's death, he saw that he was affected by her death.
'It's really strange to think he's just my shadow. I really can't understand the system of World Runes.' Dante thought, his eyes twitching repeatedly on their own.
"Maybe you're feeling dizzy because it's been a month and you're like that." He suddenly heard a familiar voice behind him: "I really want to do something for you… but I don't know what to do."
Dante glanced at the source of the voice… and couldn't see her properly.
His mind was blurry, struggling to process the image in front of him.
Bzzz!
And to make it worse, the barrier appeared suddenly, chopping the skin off his face.
Dante hissed painfully and muttered: "Ouch."
That crap never stopped.
For a whole month, he couldn't sleep for even a second. Whenever he tried, the barrier just manifested and increased his pain.
For a whole month, he had to endure this pain during every single second! Thankfully, he was completely sane despite all that.
The only thing he could do to calm himself down was imagine himself eating that green demoness who put him in this.
"I'll definitely eat her!"
"Who?"
"No one. Ignore this." Dante shook his head and blinked repeatedly, trying to clarify his mind enough to process the information he was receiving from his eyes.
After a moment, he saw a blurry image of Anastasia, lying lazily behind him with the food plate resting on top of her.
Yes, the same food that she was supposed to feed to him, but apparently… that was too much work.
"I think… you succeeded too much in blending with your bloodline." Dante forced a smile while staring at the food.
Anastasia sighed: "Maybe… but it's too late now… I just want to sleep."
After saying that, she placed the plate aside and hugged her knees and slept just like that, or Dante thought she slept, as he couldn't see her face clearly.
And that wasn't even the first time she did that. They started allowing her to spend more time here, but instead of using that time to talk with Dante… she just took some naps.
"Yeah, the sloth demons will be proud of you." Dante sighed, almost regretting the advice he had given to Anastasia.
He wanted her to accept the demon bloodline slightly, only slightly, but she was now too lazy to walk!
And Dante had witnessed her progression day by day. It was funny at the beginning, but this was too much!
"Maybe she was actually suitable for that bloodline?"
If she was always suitable for that bloodline, that would mean it was only natural for her to accept the sloth bloodline rapidly, similar to how Dante himself accepted the greed bloodline quickly.
However, Dante didn't know whether that was something good or bad, especially when the angel bloodline wasn't fusing with it or anything.
'What makes me so special exactly?'
After reading many books and fighting people with bloodlines, Dante discovered that his case was a bit special.
First of all, the other beings with bloodlines weren't mutating like him!
They were changing evenly, while Dante was mutating piece by piece.
For example, the first pride demon he fought looked a bit too human. He didn't have one arm mutated and one arm normal. His bloodline was affecting his body equally.
Same thing with a titan like Zoran. If his bloodline's progression was similar to Dante's, he would have had a part of himself bigger than the other… which would have been a bit terrifying as progress.
Even in the dragon palace, the other dragons got wings, tails, and horns as the most visible features. For the other features, claws for example, they had both arms looking similar, unlike Dante who had only one arm being fully draconic.
'Their bloodlines were spreading evenly, while I'm here mutating like a damn lab experiment!'
As for people with two bloodlines like him… they simply had both bloodlines separated. They could grow together, but never fused. Additionally, one of them would be more dominant.
The only thing he didn't know was whether this applied to all bloodlines or not. Regardless, Dante was indeed special.
And the World Runes stated clearly that his bloodlines were fusing! He had given that advice to Anastasia because he was clearly a living proof that bloodlines could fuse together.
'Greed, would you be kind enough to tell me how you did it? As the creator of this cursed bloodline, and as a former dragon, I'm pretty sure you made them capable of fusing together.'
Greed immediately appeared in front of Dante, wiping his eyes with his tail. Despite Dante's current condition, he could still see Greed clearly.
"Yeah, yeah, I did it myself. Between the Seven Deadly Sins and the Seven Heavenly Virtues, I was the only one who had a bloodline before that. Obviously, I couldn't make a bloodline that would be completely useless for me, so I did a few experiments until I ensured that the greed bloodline would fuse completely with my bloodline."
Greed covered his mouth and laughed: "Hehehe, I can still remember the reaction of those fellas. Mind you, I was the first, and maybe the only person to force an abyssal bloodline to fuse with a heavenly bloodline! I know, I'm a real genius."
Dante narrowed his eyes, only focusing on the word "experiments".
And earlier, he stated that he tried to fuse a demon bloodline with an angel bloodline. However, the results weren't really good.
"I bet he killed hundreds at least." Aza spat in Dante's ears, as if barely resisting the urge to slap the imaginary figure of Greed.
"Cough… you're underestimating the real number." Greed coughed awkwardly and shook his head: "Anyway, I can't assure you that you'd succeed, but there is a simple method to try to force those bloodlines to fuse. Whether it succeeds or not depends on your precision and her luck."
Listening to Greed's method, Dante's eyes widened as he realized that it was indeed something he could do.
Maybe he didn't trust that centipede, but everything he had said was logical.
'So that's how you start the fusion process… and that would likely make her explode, but there is a tiny chance that she dies.' Dante nodded: 'But I have to break free first.'
Dante smirked at the thought of breaking free. He already had something in his mind. If he was unlucky enough, he could escape in a few days after getting the monthly boost.
If not, then maybe next month. He had seen enough in this cursed place.
Glancing at Anastasia, Dante's smirk widened: 'Maybe I can take her with me and use the method to dry up her father. He won't hand over his Crown for his daughter, but he didn't say anything about the other treasures of his kingdom.'
Dante couldn't help but imagine himself swimming in a pool of Rank 4 and Rank 5 potions and artifacts.
'Hehe, but this should wait. For now… I have to eat first.' Dante stared at the blurry plate and the lazy woman behind him.
"Hey, wake up!"
"You're supposed to be here to feed me, not take a nap!"
"Wake up!"
Bzzz!
"Ouch… fucking wake up!"
Dante kept shouting at her, but she didn't even flinch… or maybe she did. He really hated the fact that his mind was too exhausted to know.
Unable to make her move, Dante looked at the walls and asked: "Hey, can anyone here wake her up, please? Isn't her time supposed to be limited?"
After saying that, he waited for a few minutes… yet nothing happened.
'I will enjoy eating that fucking demoness! Should I make her watch as I eat her organs? Yes, I'll do that!' Dante gritted his teeth and glared at Anastasia.
"Am I aiming right?"
"Yes." Aza responded immediately, her voice carrying a hint of anticipation.
There was only one option available now.
HAWK~TUAH!
