The Demon with Holy Radiance
Chapter 367 - 264: The Missile Grew Eyes and Exploded into Fireworks
"Is this the entrance to the Immortal Origin Land?"
Someone asked fearfully. The entrance didn’t look right at all—in fact, it was downright eerie.
The squirming cave was pitch-black. Not even a True Eye could see what lay within.
No one present had ever seen what the Immortal Origin Land looked like, so naturally, they had no way of telling if this was real or fake.
However, this was the spot where both the Demon Fiends and the people from Great Virtue Temple had disappeared before, so this had to be the place.
Someone picked up a rock and tossed it into the cave.
The large rock vanished after passing through the opening, and no sound of it landing returned. It had clearly entered some sort of special place.
"This is it!"
Someone eagerly prepared to be the first to enter. No one else tried to stop him, and he quickly flew into the cave and disappeared from sight.
Where one went, a second and third soon followed.
In just a few breaths, most of the Cultivators had entered. The rest, though still hesitant, quickly followed suit.
Yang An waited until every last one of them had disappeared before revealing himself. He was now the only one left.
He had originally planned to follow them inside, but at the last moment, he suddenly felt something was wrong.
’The Immortal Origin Land must hold some great treasures; otherwise, it wouldn’t have drawn so many people here. But this place isn’t safe.
Other than this entrance right in front of me, there are no other ways in or out.
If someone got the idea to destroy this entrance, wouldn’t everyone who went into the Immortal Origin Land be trapped inside?’
Just looking at this place and thinking about all those people inside, he himself felt the impulse to destroy the entrance.
He didn’t even trust himself, so how could he possibly trust anyone else?
With this in mind, Yang An didn’t hesitate. In the blink of an eye, he transformed into a black shadow and sped away.
With no one left, the cave woven from countless vines returned to its original form, becoming a curtain of hanging vines once more.
A ceaseless wind blew through the cold, gloomy depths of Nine Phoenix Ridge, making the grass and trees rustle, but it couldn’t disperse the thick, lingering fog.
A short while later, a figure suddenly descended from the empty sky.
The figure was dressed in black clothes with a hood pulled over his head and wore a mask. The mask depicted a He Tou crowned with a Light Wheel.
Yang An landed on the ground and flexed the vessel’s body, very satisfied.
He had just found a relatively safe place to hide his real body. He then contacted the Workshop Master and used the vessel’s teleportation ability, possessing it to re-enter the depths of Nine Phoenix Ridge.
’The vessel’s teleportation ability is incredibly convenient,’ he thought. ’My real body doesn’t have to face the danger, and the vessel’s form can hide my true identity so no one can see through it.
Even if I encounter danger in the Immortal Origin Land, or if someone destroys the entrance as I suspected, I won’t have to worry at all.
Besides, after the Workshop Master’s modifications, the vessel can unleash my full capabilities, just like my real body. It’s a perfect fit, allowing me to act without any reservations.’
However, convenient as the vessel’s teleportation was, it also had its drawbacks.
First, the vessel couldn’t last for too long. If he remained inside it for an extended period, it would forcibly collapse.
Additionally, if it was destroyed by someone, causing the vessel’s "death," a large portion of the damage would be reflected back onto his real body.
The best solution was to "kill" the vessel himself before someone else did, which would prevent the feedback damage from being too great to bear.
This wasn’t a cost that could be removed with Purification. If Yang An wanted to enter the Immortal Origin Land and ensure his own safety, he had no other choice.
He hadn’t brought Bow Lady with him. She couldn’t be stored away, and her presence in front of the people from Great Virtue Temple might have exposed his identity. He could only go it alone.
As Yang An approached, the vines quickly formed the cave entrance again. This time, Yang An plunged inside without a second thought.
He was met with a darkness so complete he couldn’t see his hand in front of his face. Not even his True Eye or his senses could perceive the true scene within the cave.
An idea struck Yang An. Several beams of Golden Radiance suddenly appeared around him, faintly illuminating the surroundings. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
The Light Magic was actually able to dispel the darkness in the cave.
But upon seeing the environment inside the cave, Yang An couldn’t help but quicken his pace.
It was as if he had entered the intestinal tract of some enormous creature. Everything around him was writhing, yet the ground beneath his feet was firm, not soft at all.
The intestine-like cave walls were black and hung with countless soft, tissue-like things.
On both sides of the walls, numerous corpses were embedded within. Some had long since rotted away to nothing but bone, others were crawling with maggots, and some looked as though they had just recently died.
The clothing on these corpses did not seem to be from the same era; each was different. The only commonality was the savage expressions frozen on their faces.
Yang An walked onward until, after about half an hour, he finally saw a light and emerged from the cave.
The wind that greeted him was thick with the stench of blood. He could no longer sense any of the people who had entered before him; their whereabouts were unknown.
Yang An warily surveyed his surroundings.
’This is the Immortal Origin Land?
Unlike the Xian Origin Land I’ve seen before, this place is completely normal.
It feels as if I’ve simply passed through to another part of Nine Phoenix Ridge. The mountains are the same, the trees are the same; nothing has changed.
Compared to the Gray Scale of the Xian Origin Land, this place couldn’t be more ordinary.’
