 Wasting no time, Saber turned around and dashed for her sword. When the handle reached the palm of her hand, she redirected her weight and cut the air, aiming directly for the elderly woman’s head.
 However, the blade suddenly lost all friction just as it was about to come into contact with her. It was almost as if the universe was denying her death.
 "You’re annoying."
 Planting her foot into the ground, Saber made sure each swipe of her blade would ensure death. However, no matter how hard she tried, a single strike did not reach its target.
 With each second, Saber’s grip on the handle increased. Her eyes became bloodshot, thirsty, shrinking to the size of a pea. In the end, a vein on her forehead exploded, making her retreat.
 "I see."
 Saber’s grip on the sword loosened, and she restrained herself.
 "Even your ability is a lie. Everything about you disgusts me. From your appearance, down to the way you talk — you disgust me."
 "...I’m sorry for that."
 "You should just go on and kill yourself. You have no reason to live; you only serve to please others."
 The woman did not respond for a few moments, looking down at her feet pitifully.
 "Maybe you’re right, I cannot please anyone. Not even my master—"

 </div> As the words left her mouth, her blood followed. A cut appeared on her cheek, crimson falling like rain running down a window. Saber had not moved, but she was sure of it; this was due to her intuition of not attacking.
 "Such a beautiful contradiction. It’s strange how our greatest strengths may be our greatest weaknesses."
 "Yes, but how may you preserve what is real and what is fake?"
 "Everything about you is fake."

 I’m getting rather impatient, aren’t you? This battle is well... A battle of contradictions. It is quite hard to put into words what exactly was going on in this fight, not to mention the mindset of Saber.
 Still, I can only try my best to figure out how to explain this to you.
 Saber circled the woman, debating what to do next. She grabbed her sword, and shoved it into her mouth. As it disappeared into her body, she felt an overwhelming sense of danger.
 Then, she understood what the ability at play was.
 "Are you judging me?"
 "No. The universe is. I simply tell it who to target, like a redirect."
 "I see. So recognition is the first step."
 "You’re too clever for your own good..."
 "Oh?"
 From Saber’s understanding, there were steps this Signature had to take. The first was recognition, meaning that the witch would choose who to lock onto. Whether it was a person, a feeling, or intuition, she could not tell.
 But with this being her first time fighting against something like this — an ability that had its own consciousness and was passive, she couldn’t hope to understand everything at once.

 </div> The second act was to amplify whatever was being focused. And finally, the third was to create a contradiction within this action. Saber wanted to test the waters of this ability, sitting down directly in front of the ability.
 Cocky or not, she knew now that the ability could not directly attack her. It would contradict itself if it did so, which could cause many problems for the user.
 Yes, a contradiction that has to obey the laws of her own contradictions.
 Quite the mouthful.
 Saber suppressed her killing intent and focused on peace. When this happened, her killing intent would skyrocket.
 "Very confusing indeed. To fight something, I have to not fight it in the first place. Or, in other words, I have to be at peace with what I find to be foe, and be at unease with what I call friend."
 Saber paused for a while, before continuing:
 "However, the only ’friend’ here is myself... So how can I be at unease with myself?"
 The elderly woman did not respond, her frown deepening with every word that left Saber’s mouth. She could no longer look Saber directly in the eyes, averting her gaze.
 "I feel sorry for my master. It seems no matter the outcome, you are destined to defeat me."
 "Haha! I see! In that case — I desire peace with you!"
 Just then, the desire for Saber to kill increased. The second act had been activated, and she continued.
 "I will allow you and your master to live very long and peaceful lives."
 The witch was getting visibly paler, blood falling from her eyes and ears. Saber smiled at this, standing up and roughing her hair before walking out of the supermarket.
 "It’s such a shame. You can die without your master, I guess I’ll never be able to find her."
 Saber’s body began to move on its own as she dashed out the door. Laughing, the witch followed soon after her, the contradictions stopping as Saber reached the east of the city again.
 "Oh? You stopped it? You’re no fun."

 "Then fight you, faker!"
 Saber had it all figured out now; she did not need to fight this elderly woman — but rather herself. Her sword extended from her palm, and she began to cut at herself.
 And stabbed herself directly in the heart, the wound inflicting itself on the witch.
 "You!" The witch screamed in shock.
 (Ah, yes. This is what it must feel like to be human! I’m nowhere near a human; I’m a being above them through and through.)
𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺 Saber continued to stab herself, walking toward the east the entire time. She even cut off her head a few times, but every wound healed before she even recognized it to be gone.
 (Feel! I can feel! What a delight! Maybe I should not kill them! This is incredible! Haha!)
 "Murderer!"
 "Humans murder each other all the time; it will be fine! Plus, you two are no more than animals! Sheep’s in a wolf’s clothing! Go on! Activate the Signature again. I can tell when it is deactivated now!"
 Saber stopped stabbing herself, just to turn her head and mutter:
 "Thank you for allowing me this privilege of emotions. I’m afraid I was the worst opponent you could’ve gone against."</div>
