Chapter 2040: Hitting A Wall

Eris’s feet dug into the ground as she pushed herself forward, ripping the crust of the universe to shred as her speed quickly spiked, and in the blink of an eye, all of her mass was moving toward Arad like a star hurling through space.

Arad saw her, and he knew that this charge of hers was dangerous. No matter how powerful he was, this was bound to hurt a lot, so he decided to take the stupidest approach he could and hit her where she didn’t expect.

There was no difference between this Eris and the purple sun she hurled at him earlier. They weighed the same, moved at the same speed, and were just as powerful and hot. Arad knew far too well that his body could not endure such a hit, yet he also knew that the whole story was very different.

He took a step forward, drilling his foot into the ground as he swung his entire torso, pulling all of his strength and gravity into a single move. This was the strongest punch he could ever throw, the peak limit of his power, and he aimed straight at Eris’s forehead.

As Arad threw the punch, the ground beneath him exploded and melted, the sheer gravity burning from his body tore the fabric of space itself, and his burning fist moved like a meteor, reaching Eris’s head right before the impact.

Amaterasu and Kali, who were watching from afar, sighed. They knew it was a foolish move, to attack Eris’s solid forehead head-on looked like a move that Arad would never make. The best solution would’ve been to dodge her charge and attack in another way, but he seemed to want to challenge her directly.

Arad’s knuckles shattered, his fingers twisted, and his fist broke down on Eris’s forehead, and her entire body slammed onto his torso, ripping him in half with ease, and all of it was followed by a large explosion as the combined kinetic energy of them both moving caused the crust of the universe to evaporate directly from being solid.

As the dust cleared, Amaterasu’s eyes opened wide. Arad’s shattered body lay motionless in the debris, but he wasn’t the only one. Eris was on the floor as well, twitching as if she were at the end of her life.

Yog appeared between Amaterasu and Kali, and she looked forward with a large grin on her face. "What a sorry state she is in. He totally played her off like a child."

Amaterasu glared at her. "Eris is a divine being, and Arad didn’t have anything that could damage her this much. Even if he did, she should’ve been able to regenerate."

"He didn’t use my destruction either." Kali added, and Yog laughed at them. "Good! Good! It means if any of you attacked him, you would’ve ended up on the floor like her." She then pointed at Arad. "Look closely at Eris’s body, it isn’t just her forehead that is wounded, but her entire upper half."

"Just tell me what did he do." Amaterasu growled at her, and Yog jumped to hide behind Kali.

"Arad didn’t try to strike her down; he needed to freeze the space in front of her for just a fraction of a second. He did that, and to Eris, it must’ve felt like hitting a wall. Her brain and spine got compressed and damaged so quickly that her consciousness failed to recognize the damage and heal it, because she didn’t expect it."

Yog then pointed at Arad as he started healing while Eris still didn’t show any signs of recovery. "Now, she is struggling to heal the damage dealt by her own power, while he, who has a better regeneration thanks to his Pricolici nature, is going to stand first."

As she stated, Arad stood fully healed and looked at Eris. "To think the same tactic that works on horses works on you two. You just set sharp wooden barricades for them to impale themselves on while charging, and for you, I just needed those barricades to be made of my space and gravity."

Eris remained on the floor for a while as her divine energy and blood stabilized. Unlike Arad, she wasn’t used to full body damage, and while he could easily endure deadly wounds and regenerate from just being a spine with a brain, she couldn’t do it.

It wasn’t a fault of Eris’s power, since with both her vampiric regeneration and divine magic, she could regenerate from her entire body being incinerated, yet... it was a problem of pain, and her sense of self.

It was only a minute later that life returned to Eris’s eyes, and she pushed herself from the ground, shocked. "What... did happen?"

"Blindly charging at me was a mistake." Arad looked at her with a smile. "How about you try something else?" She stood, looked at herself with a frown, then glared back at him. "You knocked me out?"

"No, you knocked yourself out." Arad looked at her with all the muscles on his body bulging and straining as he got ready to take any strike she threw at him. "Try to avoid obvious moves."

Then, in the blink of an eye, Eris’s fist flew at his face faster than anyone could see.

[First Dance: Slaying Demon Blade] Arad’s arms moved, the black hole he used before twisted into a sharp blade, and with a slash, he cut Eris’s arm open from knuckles to armpit. Amaterasu’s eyes opened wide, Yog whistled, and Kali smiled. "Those are Kayden’s moves!"

Eris jumped back, healed her arm with a shocked face, and glared back at Arad with a large grin on her face. "You beautiful bastard... is that what destroyed my purple sun before?"

"This blade is denser than your sun, and it has a higher will over space due to me being a void dragon." Arad opened his arms wide and smiled as he started shrinking with size magic and getting smaller, until he was as tall as Eris, just a little over six feet tall.

"Unlike Linda, you don’t have any tricky powers to deal with. Just a lot of firepower." He pointed the sword at her. "Sorry, but defeating you is probably a lot easier than defeating her."

Eris disappeared in the blink of an eye, and her foot was flying toward Arad’s head from behind. Indeed. Even if he can cut her down, she was still much faster thanks to her nature as a star.

But in that instant, Arad’s body turned into a blur, and her foot was slashed cleanly at the shin. "You know, I should thank Matilda for the inspiration. I can indeed teleport in place, and it’ll be faster than turning."

He teleported back as Eris jumped away, and he managed to grab her severed foot. "What a waste, to cut such a beautiful foot." He gave the toes a kiss and then swallowed the entire foot in a single gulp like a snake.

"Did anyone tell you that you’re scary?" Eris growled as her foot healed, and Arad looked at her with a smile. "Well, I’m just starting. Do you want me to be scary, or horrifying?"

"Give me your worst."

Arad scratched the back of his head. "Well, this is going to give you nightmares for years." He took a step forward, and the foot that landed didn’t belong to him or any of his incarnations.

Amaterasu and Kali both paled, and Yog burst laughing as if she saw the funniest thing in her life. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

It was a tall, tanned body that looked as if it was sculptured from polished ivory, the hair was long and silvery, and the eyes bright purple... it was the body of a dark elf woman, and one that Eris didn’t expect to see.

"Wait! The dark elf goddess!?"

"Since I can polymorph and I saw Merida train on this, I didn’t want to do this in front of her because it’ll hurt her feelings." He took a stance, and Eris turned to run away and get some distance.
