Chapter 190: Omae wa....

In a certain dark castle in the Vorde continent, a serene ageless beauty with flowing white hair sat in a garden tending to some of exotic plants the garden had to offer.

However, her hands paused just as she was about to trim the stalk of a flower. For some reason she was having an extremely bad premonition. Something in her was telling her something was wrong.

As if to fuel her sudden anxiety, a man suddenly appeared before her with his head bowed, kneeling on one knee.

"What is it?" She asked calmly, betraying no hint of her inner turmoil.

The man spoke in an extremely fearful and stammering voice.

"F...f...forgive me your highness, the young prince’s life lantern has gone out."

Yvonne froze.

For the next few moments she kept opening her mouth but no sound came out, while the kneeling middle aged man continued to tremble. He genuinely feared the Empress’ reaction, but upon raising his head, he saw that she was no longer there.

"....Your highness?"

Meanwhile, the surroundings blurred before Yvonne’s eyes and only cleared out in a dark room lit up with numerous lantern hanging from the ceiling, and among them all, a certain lantern had turned lightless.

Without control, tears began streaming down from Yvonne’s amethyst eyes, and along with the tears, a chilly aura began emanating from her being so much that even her tears froze the moment they left her cheeks.

In an instant, the chilly aura expanded and covered the entire Darkfell garden, and would have proceeded to spread across the entire capital if not for the dark purplish aura that kept it in place.

Amon appeared next to Yvonne and was about to ask what was wrong, but before he did that, his eyes swept to the lightless lantern, and he froze.

An overbearing aura even stronger than Yvonne’s escaped him, and even though it was only for a silver of a moment before he reigned it in, the entire Darkfell garden and surrounding areas shook as if being struck by a seismic shock, and dark purplish cracks appeared in the sky.

"My son, Amon, my precious baby." Yvonne sobbed as Amon pulled her into his embrace.

"It’s going to be okay, Yvonne, it’s going to be okay." Amon reassured her, but he himself was desperately stopping his tears from falling from his eyes.

"You know," Yvonne sobbed. "I never wanted to ignore him, and I never wanted to get him into an engagement he didn’t want. I never should have let you exile him for something he didn’t do, because of some damn prophecy!" She screamed near the end, hitting Amon’s chest with all the strength.

Amon endured everything while fighting to keep her in his embrace.

"You know, during the Ivos gala, when that bitch said things about my son, I personally pierced her in two with an ice spike." Yvonne continued as she broke down even further.

Amon’s hands clenched so tightly the entire capital began to tremble. Whoever was responsible for this would not live to see the sun come up tomorrow.

Soon, two figures rushed into into the room.

"Father, Mother, what’s wron..." Ariel’s words froze in her mind the moments her vision came in contact with the lightless lantern, and so did Aldrich.

This particular lightless lantern meant one thing. It meant that the person whose life it was tied to was dead, simple as that. And this particular one was died to Damon, so in short, the youngest prince of the Darkfell royal family was dead.

Before they could ask any more questions, Amon disappeared from the lantern room, leaving them alone with the mentally unstable Empress.

Less than two seconds later, Amon’s figure materialized above the Remea continent. It took him one more second to sense the location where it all happened, and his body disappeared soon after.

Amon once again reappeared, but this time, he appeared above a scene where numerous kids were in the sea, with a grotesque limbless creature and a red haired man he recognized facing each other.

Amon’s eyes scanned everything in milliseconds... and he couldn’t find Damon, or his body. He did see Rose’s incandescent figure though.

"I’m sorry for your loss." The red haired man curtsied as he turned to Rose.

"Kill it." The girl he recognized as Sevas’s bastard daughter, who was also the same girl who had been clinging to his son said.

"As you wish, your highness." The red haired man said, turning to the creature.

"There would be no need for that, Soren, I’ll kill it myself." Amon’s voice was accompanied by dark purple cracks marring the sky, ebbing away at the fabric of the world.

The red haired man whose name was Soren, had his eyes widened, before looking up at Amon’s expressionless face.

"I greet your majesty." Soren soon composed himself. "If your majesty is willing, than I shall stay my hand." Soren floated backwards, Rose, Alistair and Anastasia still held with his aura.

Rose meanwhile froze. She knew for sure why her father had appeared here. He knew... he knew that her brother was dead.

The creature whose limbs were still regenerating meanwhile, was frozen stiff the moment Amon spoke. The Darkwalker possessing the beast knew that even with it’s true body, it stood a zero chance at defeating this being that had just appeared. It’s real self was only at the Beta- rank after all.

So the only thing it could do was hold out till this body degraded by itself. But it severely underestimated the strength and authority of an Alpha ranked.

It’s limbs that were regenerating suddenly stopped, as an even stronger will forced it to a halt. The higher one was on the path of ascension, the more the world bent to their will.

".....What..." it voiced in confusion.

"You should be glad that this isn’t your true self." Amon’s chilling baritone voice stated. "You can consider this death as a form of mercy, but I will find you, your true self, and when I do, I will give you an end so miserable, that hell would be a sanctuary."

"Begone." Amon said calmly, and from one of the dark purple cracks fell a small fragment. The moment the fragment touched the creature’s head, a terrifying scream tore out from it’s throat, before it got enveloped by a dark purple light and simply ceased to be.

"It’s been a long while since I have seen emotions on your face, Amon. Don’t tell me mad Amon is coming out." A voice sounded out of the blue as an imposing red haired man appeared.

Amon turned behind him, a wide grin now plastered on his otherwise expressionless face. "Why don’t you try me and see, Sevas."

"No." Sevas shook his head. " I have better things to do than antagonizing you on your child’s death."

"Great then." Amon disappeared, and reappeared behind Rose, who had now left her incandescent form. He had already scanned even deep beneath the waters, but there was no trace of Damon’s corpse. "I will be taking my leave." Both Amon and Rose disappeared.

"Soren, wrap up everything here." Sevas said.

"Yes, your majesty." Soren replied.

"Let’s go, Ana." Sevas took Anastasia’s hand, and disappeared from the place. Now only the rest of the students and Soren remained there, baffled by the fact that two Emperors had just showed up.

------------

Back in the astral mystic Institute, Emmett just got word of what happened through one of his little whisperers.

"Ah, a shame really." Emmet sighed. "Here I though you’d show me a lot more that I didn’t know. Who would have thought, you’d suddenly die midway."

"Though unexpected, it’s far from unwelcome. The less variables there are, the less trouble I have to keep up. It seems instigating the heretics to try a descent ritual got pulled off well this time."

"What are you muttering about?" A silver haired girl asked.

"Nothing much Silvie, just the interesting decisions I’d prefer father and mother to take over my dear little brother’s demise."

"Sometimes you’re just too much Emmett." Silvie shook her head. "But I like it."

Under a vast nebulous expanse where stars dotted the sky, A young man with wavy jet black hair laid unconscious. A moment later, his sealed eyelids fluttered revealing a pair of striking grey orbs.

The young man sprag up to a sitting position, desperately touching his body in places before ultimately sighing in relief.

"Wait... this place?" His relief soon turned into panic as he realized where he was. He certainly didn’t want to encounter that so called profane/ divine being anytime soon. He remembered how vividly he felt the feeling of his heart being absent from his ribcage.

"Why the hell am I here?" Damon muttered, and almost immediately, a voice sounded next to his ear.

"Omae wa mou shinderu."
