The Evil God Summoned by the Saintess
Chapter 312 - 310: Sure Enough, I Still Have to Go All Out
An unexpected situation occurred.
Hilia felt like her thoughts slowed for an instant.
Then she reacted, lifted her Magic Staff, and several Ice Spikes instantly appeared, flying toward the person who emerged. As the other party tried to defend, all the Ice Spikes exploded right in front of him!
It wasn’t over yet. As the shockwave from the blast hit, the shattered ice fragments stuck to his surroundings once more.
Shattered ice!
Ice Spike, Ice Burst, shattered ice—everything flowed together in one motion, instantly blowing the suddenly appearing Tier Two heretic to pieces.
This commotion would surely be noticed by the guards inside. Without thinking too much, Hilia immediately cast Light Body Technique and Swift Movement Skill on herself and charged into the small fortress.
Sure enough, an urgent alarm sound rang out from inside the small fortress.
Hilia locked her Spiritual Power onto those obvious and hidden guards. Repeating her ice spike tactics, she slaughtered all the guards in a very short span of time, destroying the shoulder emblems they were using to sound the alarm.
The whole world fell silent.
Hilia sighed. "So, I should’ve just done that from the start. All that effort to hack the alarm system for nothing."
Rose laughed. "Relax, though the alarm has startled those outside, inside no one’s been alerted. As you go in, it’s still very quiet inside."
Hilia was stunned for a second. "How is that possible..."
Rose said, "I took control of the Array and made it block all alarms from getting in."
The girl beamed with joy, "Thank you, my lord God!"
Hilia quickly walked to where she had previously sensed the heretic moving downward.
There was a wall here, with a painting on it.
As expected, the painting on the wall was a mechanism.
When Hilia was about to touch the painting, Rose spoke up: "Don’t touch it, that’s part of the alarm system. The real door mechanism is under your feet—just kick the tile by your foot."
Hilia jumped in fright and, relieved, quickly drew back her hand.
"Wow, what a nasty heretic base, actually setting up a fake mechanism!"
The painting was so conspicuous that she really thought it was the switch for the secret passage.
Turns out it wasn’t—but the tile underfoot?
Hilia gave a hard kick, and a wave of Magic Power shimmered across the wall in front of her.
Soon, a gap appeared before her.
"Let me see what’s inside."
Hilia stepped into the hidden chamber, and what greeted her wasn’t a dark, damp underground passage, but a wide and splendid corridor.
The corridor shimmered with gold, bright magical lamps lined both sides, illuminating the entire hall.
You could even glimpse the starry sky through the windows.
Hilia froze for a moment, then quickly realized, "Is this base inside a Subspace?"
"Yes. But if you keep dawdling, someone’s going to show up ahead."
Hilia hurried forward and, soon enough, at the turn of the hallway, ran into a heretic walking in her direction.
She didn’t give the other any chance to react, attacking directly and instantly freezing him into an ice sculpture.
"There must be an Array here too. I’ll take control of it before moving on!"
Having come to a heretic base, Hilia was used to finding the Array, gaining control of it and modifying it, claiming their Array for her own use.
This base was inside a Subspace, but it was no exception—it, too, had an Array.
The Array was embedded inside the corridor, providing the fortress’s defenses and serving as the foundation that kept the base existing in Subspace.
Hilia left the portion of the Array maintaining stability alone and focused mainly on infiltrating the active skill segment.
Whether for defense, offense, or granting blessings, those were all her targets for infiltration.
But soon, she gave up on hacking the Array.
"Aside from connecting to the outer warning system, this Array doesn’t even have basic defenses. Changing it would be pointless—no need to waste time here. I’ll just link in and block my tracking from it."
Masking her own presence was quick work. In no time, Hilia finished modifying the Array.
She summoned a mass of Ice Spikes around herself, compressing them into tiny ice needles, which she then controlled via Mage’s Hand, having them follow her as she moved.
Only then did she proceed deeper inside.
Rose reminded her, "There’s a Tier Four Mage in this base."
Hilia tensed up and nodded. "Got it."
She quickly established a connection with the Array.
This Array might not be capable of defensive counterattacks, but as long as she walked inside, everyone’s whereabouts were exposed. It couldn’t be used for attacking, but for finding people, it was pretty good.
Hilia started searching the vast base.
After quite a while, in a room deep within, she found a female mage writing something.
At first glance, Hilia could tell this was the Tier Four Mage she was looking for.
Because as soon as she found the other, the woman suddenly looked up sharply, staring upwards, her eyes emitting white mist, hollow like they had no pupils.
Through the Array, Hilia could hear what she said.
"Intruder!"
The base’s alarm immediately blared to life.
Hilia was stunned. "A Tier Four Mage is that sharp? She found me with just a look?"
Rose said, "She’s a spiritual-type mage, hypersensitive to gazes."
"Spiritual-type..."
Hilia couldn’t help but feel unlucky today—every kind of accident she shouldn’t have encountered, she did.
At this point, there was no way to gather intelligence anymore. All she could do was leave.
The girl turned around and ran.
But she quickly discovered she couldn’t escape.
"That woman sealed off the Subspace!"
Hilia immediately used Mage’s Hand to connect to the Array, only to find that the authority to seal off exits was extremely high—it could only seemingly be switched manually.
No doubt, the switch was in the hands of that Tier Four female mage.
"I’ll have to try and see if I can crack it..."
Hilia had no hesitation. She summoned a Magic Puppet, blocked the puppet from the Array’s surveillance, picked a direction, and dashed off without looking back.
As the sirens wailed, it was as if the whole base had awoken.
A flood of heretics began searching for Hilia inside the base.
Under the Array’s watch, Hilia could see crowds of heretics gathering near the entrance, and many others passing right through the path she was heading down.
"Perfect timing!"
So much misfortune irritated Hilia.
Facing the surge of heretics, she didn’t retreat but charged right in, wielding her Magic Staff while her Magic Puppet held the Ten Thousand Lights Sword, rushing forward together.
Before the heretics could even react to her presence, Hilia and her puppet’s spells were already upon them.
White ice crystals bloomed in the spacious corridor, creating countless ice statues and crimson ice shards.
Hilia strode ahead over blood-frozen ice crystals. Soon, she saw through the Array that the heretics running toward the entrance had gotten orders and were now charging her way.
The labyrinthine corridor could have been a place to get lost, but with her perspective as the maze’s overseer, the maze was now even easier to navigate.
"No more killing. That mage can’t see me, but she’ll notice heretics ’dying inexplicably.’"
"I need to find a place to hide, crack the Array’s authority, and then get out."
"If all else fails... even Tier Four isn’t unbeatable!"
