The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space
Chapter 2422: Seeking the Eighth Prince (Part 2)
And Arang, protecting Ayang and Jin Bao, arrived outside the camp. They had encountered some issues along the way; as soon as they descended the mountain, they met members of the Flame Sect. However, with Ah Zi present, it was easily resolved, so Arang and Ayang finally understood why the others had been dismissive of the wolf dogs.
Daxuan Camp.
"Who goes there?" a guard shouted when he noticed someone approaching.
Ah Zi, steering the wolf dog, wandered over.
The Daxuan soldiers all knew that General Gu’s wife had a pet fox, even with purple eyes, so someone with it must be one of them. Still, a fox riding a wolf dog — what was happening?
Ah Zi ignored the guard and jumped off the wolf dog, running into the camp.
Arang and Ayang hurriedly followed.
"Who are you?" Although led by the purple-eyed fox, the guards wouldn’t let two strangers in casually.
But Arang couldn’t speak Daxuan language at all, and Ayang only knew a few simple words.
"What’s happening?" Right then, Qi Jingrong approached.
"Greetings, Prince," the guard quickly saluted Qi Jingrong.
"Who are they?" Qi Jingrong frowned and looked at Ayang.
Arang hastily shielded him behind.
"Not sure," the guard shook his head. He asked but received no answer, so naturally didn’t know.
"Eight... Prince..." Ayang thought of what Gu Qingheng had told her, and then another name came to mind after some time.
"What do you want with the Eighth Prince?" Qi Jingrong raised a brow slightly, these two seemed to be Miaojiang people, which naturally required clarification.
Ayang looked stubbornly at him: "Eighth Prince." Now that she was sure of the pronunciation, she focused only on this person.
"Are you Miao people?" Qi Jingrong was getting a bit angry, "If you don’t speak, we’ll treat you as assassins and capture you."
Arang protected Ayang, retreated a few steps, and in his urgency, muttered some Miao language. Unfortunately, no one understood.
"Capture them!" Qi Jingrong’s suspicion grew, and he waved his hand instantly.
"Prince, my Ah Zi brought them back, how can you just capture them?" A clear voice rang out, "Why not ask me, the fox’s owner?"
"Senior Nian," Qi Jingrong turned and cupped his fists towards Nian Qianqian, "But their origins are unknown, and a fox, after all, is not human; it can’t tell good from bad."
"Didn’t they say they’re looking for the Eighth Prince? Why not bring your Eighth brother here to ask? What if they’re here to deliver a message?" Nian Qianqian raised an eyebrow slightly, glanced at Ayang, and switched to Miao language, "Who are you? Where are you from? What do you want with the Eighth Prince?"
Qi Jingrong was frustrated, without his third brother in the camp, he really had no authority.
Ayang saw a beautiful woman in white carrying Ah Zi walk over and felt relieved; at least this person wouldn’t capture them. Hearing her speak Miao language was even more pleasing, she explained they had met some people in the mountains who instructed them to find the Eighth Prince or General Zhou Jiang, and the little fox escorted them out.
This was Ran Lei’s instruction; they could speak Miao language but couldn’t pronounce General Zhou Jiang’s name in official language, barely managing to say ’eight’ and ’prince.’
"Come in," Nian Qianqian didn’t even glance at Qi Jingrong, turned around and walked inside.
