"How is the work going? Did you obtain the herbs like I asked you?" Peng Ho directly went to the main point.

"Not good. It seems someone has already purchased a bit of the medicine. We are moving on with the next plan." Shi Jin followed Peng Ho inside the cabin.

"I tried to find information about who it was, but it seems that some senior servant intervened."

Peng Ho nodded with an ugly look on his face. "As expected, there are some seniors fishing for mortal money when they should be focusing on increasing their cultivation. Forget it, we cannot go against seniors as we are now."

They continued to talk about their plans for a long time. Two more servants had arrived in the middle of it.

"How many among us show promise for breaking through?" After business, Peng Ho asked about their group.

"Only the ones present here have reached Body tempering level 9 or higher stage. I don’t think anyone else among us can obtain a promotion."

The two servants who had arrived later exchanged looks of fear, hearing such a chilling truth in the most casual tone they had heard.

Had we not worked hard, we might have lost our lives too.

Will the young master save the rest? He must have a way... right?

Such thoughts were running through their heads.

Two of them slightly raised their heads only to see an indifferent look on Peng Ho’s face.

"Well, they lack talent. What can we do about it?" The way Peng ho shrugged off the lives of his followers sent a chill down their hearts.

They couldn’t help but wonder what they had expected from the man who ruled the servant district of a demonic sect.

Only by being ruthless like him could they survive.

"What about that Shen Yuan?"

There it was!

The only person their leader truly ever looked at like another person.

Servants other than Shi Jin clenched their fists hearing the detestable name from his mouth again.

Shi Jin seemed to notice their reaction from the corner of his eye but said nothing about it. He just smiled like always and said, "He hasn’t been out of his house for the past week. We know that he is not dead since his cottage has not been cleaned yet."

"What is he doing?" Peng Ho’s face flared up in fury. "Did he manage to find the secret to breaking through to the next realm?"

The air around him seemed to twist by some invisible force. A powerful gust of wind caused the two weaker servants to be pushed back, while Shi Jin just seemed like he was standing under windy weather.

"I don’t think so." The foxy servant shook his head calmly. "He has been training his body; it seems like he knows about the body tempering realm, but he only knows the brute method. We knew it was inevitable for him to find out about it."

The anger on Peng Ho’s face twisted into something ugly, but he managed to calm down. "Indeed, only a few braindead idiots still don’t know about it."

"No matter how great a talent he might have, there is no way he could reach the peak with such a barbaric method." Shi Jin’s eyes were full of disdain. "Even if he were fortunate enough to do so, he would never break through the great realm without a proper cultivation technique."

"Hahaha! Indeed! There is nothing you can do, Shen Yuan! You are destined to stay beneath me." Hearing his words, Peng Ho started to laugh like a madman.

"We had already searched his house like you asked. There was nothing extraordinary there that could help him break through." Shi Jin went on as he looked down at Peng Ho sitting on the bed with a vicious smile etched on his face. "Um... Young Master Peng."

"What is it?" Peng Ho stopped laughing and adjusted himself before looking at a confused Shi Jin.

"You master. I know I am not worthy, but can you tell me..." Shi Jin suddenly took on a more formal tone while bowing towards the jade-eyed young man. "Why is it that you hate Shen Yuan so much?"

The two servants in the back suddenly raised their heads and looked at Shi Jin like he was some kind of madman, but a madman they respected.

’You go, Master Shi Jin!’

They were also curious about the same question, but they did not have the guts to ask Peng Ho the same question.

They wanted to nod behind him, but they did not even have the courage to do so.

So they kept their heads down and stayed silent like before.

When Peng Ho heard the question, his mouth opened by instinct as if he were going to answer the question, but he caught himself in the middle and closed it.

All the smugness was drained from his face, replaced with cold anger. "Hmph! you are right. You are not worthy."

Peng Ho rose from the bed like he was standing up from a throne and turned around. "Go away, all of you. I have to cultivate. Don’t disturb me anymore and get back to your words."

Even after hearing such derogatory words, Shi Jin’s smile did not falter. Instead, he bowed dramatically and said, "As you wish, young master."

He turned around and looked at the two servants. "Come on, let’s go."

After walking out of Peng Ho’s cottage, the three walked for a while in silence before the two servants finally dared to speak.

"Young master Peng Ho was in the wrong. He should not have said it like that."

"Indeed, we should just leave him and—"

Before she could finish his words, the short female servant froze, seeing Shi Jin suddenly pausing to stare at her with a cold look. If Peng Ho’s coldness scared her, then she was terrified to even look at him.

"Young master Peng is the reason we are what we are today. You think betraying him like this would be easy? Let’s not forget he could kill you with a snap of his fingers."

Shi Jin’s words were like a cold shower of reality, snapping them awake from their delusions.

"But even if that was not the case, I will not betray the man until he is alive." Saying this, Shi Jin turned around and left, leaving the two goons trembling in the middle of the street.
