"You did that..."

"Come on, you are not alive, so I can hear you ask questions." Shen Yuan walked up to the man. He crouched down and grabbed a handful of his hair to make the servant look into his eyes. "We have a lot to discuss. You better become comfortable."

"What do you—"

Shen Yuan released his grip, and his head banged on the ground.

Then he slowly wrapped the steel wire around the edge of his severed leg.

"What did I say? No questions."

He slowly pulled on the string, letting the young man feel pain that was several times worse than having his feet being severed from his legs. "ArghHHHH!!!"

At least Shen Yuan had cut his legs instantly without letting him feel much pain.

But now?

Shen Yuan was just being cruel.

He was torturing the man for information.

"Why don’t we start with this change you were talking about, hmmm? Oh, and don’t even think about lying to me. I will tell if you are lying to me, dear." He traced his finger around the wound.

Even though it was just a gentle stroke, servant Ling only felt threat and fear from it.

"Okay! Okay. I will tell you everything. Just stop!" Shen Yuan looked a bit disappointed at how fast the man had given in to his threats, but he still let the string loosen a little.

"Come on, I am listening."

....

An hour later.

Shen Yuan was shovelling the dirt into the ground, filling up the hole he had dug to hide the bodies of the two servants.

Or whatever remained of them.

He did not hide every piece of the bodies.

There were several chunks of them lying around on the ground behind him along with two small naked bones.

They looked quite clean and shiny.

Shen Yuan finished the cleanup behind him. He did not hurry and took his time to do it slowly.

It felt like he was performing a ritual and not cleaning up a murder scene.

In order to not get caught by law enforcement for such a long time, Shen Yuan had to be smarter and clever.

Since then it had become a habit of his to clean up thoroughly behind him.

Grrr....

Just as Shen Yuan was admiring the fleshless bones he had kept aside, he heard a growling sound coming from the depths of the forest.

"Oh, you came right on time." Shen Yuan pocketed the two bones in the inventory along with the two bloody pouches the servants had on them.

A fierce wolf stepped out of the shadows.

It had an imposing presence.

Fur as grey as the ashes and eyes as bright as the two moons.

The wolf stared at Shen Yuan with wariness in its eyes. It maintained the distance between them while growling at him.

The scar running across its right eye that scrunched up whenever it snarled at Shen Yuan.

"Come on, don’t be shy. Didn’t I let you go the last few times." Shen Yuan waved at the beast like he was familiar with it.

And it was not untrue in a way.

Shen Yuan had met this wolf when he was training his battle arts in the forest.

After subduing the beast in a few moves, Shen Yuan locked its face against the ground and said. "We are both predators of nature, but that does not mean we have to kill each other, you know. We can always help each other."

Saying this, Shen Yuan let the beast walk away. He did not care whether it understood him or not.

Then every few days the beast would return to have a rematch, but the results would always be the same.

Shen Yuan would beat it and let it leave while saying the same thing over and over again.

"This is not your usual area." Shen Yuan looked at the wary wolf and chuckled before walking towards it. "Did you come here because you smelled blood?"

He pointed at the chunks of meat he had left on the ground. "Come on, I left these for you."

Grrrr!!

The wolf did not understand what he was saying, but seeing him point at the food that had drawn it here, it seemed to have gotten the idea.

It took a step forward and then hesitated because Shen Yuan had also done the same.

"Don’t be scared. If I wanted to kill you, I would have done so a long time ago." Shen Yuan chuckled before taking another step.

The unranked beast, which was capable of ripping even most of the stage nine body-tempering cultivators apart, just took a step back in fear.

It howled at Shen Yuan as a warning, but the next second its eyes widened when it saw Shen Yuan disappearing before its sight.

"Come on, no need to be so reserved between us. It’s not like I am drugging you or anything. I don’t want to eat my friend, you know." The hair on the wolf’s body stood up straight as it heard the voice moving behind it.

Out of instinct, it attacked.

Shen Yuan dodged the incoming claws with a sidestep, but the ground was not so lucky. The deep nail marks appeared on it.

Like a frightened kitten, the wolf kept attacking, but Shen Yuan kept dodging with his silent steps.

"That should be enough." Shen Yuan flipped in the air and landed on the beast’s back, surprising it. "Now, go have your feast."

The beast tried to defy him, but Shen Yuan’s firm grip held it down.

In the end it could only give up and do as it was told while cursing him inwardly.

Where did the human come from? 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎

I was just hoping to have some dinner...

Why am I being forced to eat some—wait! This food is good. No, it’s heavenly!

At first the wolf was doubtful of Shen Yuan, but when it took a bite of the meat lying on the ground, it could no longer hold back.

By the time it finished cleaning up the food and looked up, the human that had forced him to eat such good food was long gone.

It stared at the spot where Shen Yuan stood once before walking away, gently swaying its fluffy tail in the wind.
