The Fortunate Demoniac Little Village Doctor
Chapter 1620 - 874: Crystal Stone
Lin Feng’s words seemed to have hidden meanings, suggesting that what they dared to do was an idea from the Court. This way, both sides could have an easy way out, without needing to expose the matter. So as to avoid affecting the common people in the city.
Wu Fa understood the implication in Lin Feng’s words and nodded to him.
Some things are better left unsaid, as long as they are understood.
"Peace City today is no longer as carefree as it once was. In daily affairs, one should not act with the same arrogance and freedom as before. We should simply observe the changes and proceed cautiously. That way, we can respond gracefully later."
Lin Feng’s words were also spoken with great caution, implying that Peace City was no longer their domain. Since they had already handed over the reins, they shouldn’t think they own it anymore. One must act humbly and not assume control as before; in short, do as little as possible, appearing as if there’s nothing amiss, and wait until the enemy relaxes before seizing the opportunity to act. Only then can they ensure no oversight.
Wu Fa nodded again to Lin Feng. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
After explaining the necessary arrangements, Wu Fa let Lin Feng rest inside, while he spent the night outside.
The day quickly dawned, Wu Tian and Lin Feng had chatted long into the night and hadn’t slept much before feeling that morning had already arrived.
According to Lin Feng’s instructions, Wu Fa no longer went to the training ground to drill the soldiers. He slept until noon and by then, Lin Feng was clearing the black energy within himself.
The Armored Soldiers, seeing Wu Fa no longer training his soldiers like in past days, went to report to the Imperial Censor.
The Imperial Censor smiled faintly and said, "Lin Feng truly knows how to adapt to circumstances."
The Armored Soldier didn’t understand but didn’t inquire further, and thus retreated. He felt that by not training troops, Lin Feng had seemingly given up, which allowed him to take over completely, securing the defense of all of Peace City.
Subsequently, the Armored Soldier mobilized the soldiers stationed on the city’s edge to participate in his drills. Although the soldiers were somewhat unwilling, both logically and emotionally, Peace City was part of the Human Realm, under Court jurisdiction. So, as soldiers of this realm, they must obey the Court’s command.
In this situation, the Imperial Censor represented the Court.
After the afternoon drills concluded, a reconfiguration of defenses began to thoroughly weaken the original military setup of Peace City.
The Armored Soldier decided to mix Peace City’s soldiers with the Court soldiers, attempting to utterly disband the original military power of Peace City by having two watch one.
However, what they didn’t expect was that although the Armored Soldier’s approach disbanded Peace City’s military power, it scattered soldiers originally allowed only on the city’s outskirts throughout the city. Not only were the edges populated with Lin Feng’s own people, but so were the military camps within the city.
Although it was two watching one, ultimately there was a flaw in the oversight. The soldiers here were battle-hardened, how could two guards adequately surveil just one of them.
Eventually, when Lin Feng unfurls his banner, Peace City would fall entirely back into Lin Feng’s hands.
However, Lin Feng’s plan wasn’t necessarily to wrestle Peace City back into his control, but rather to leave himself and the citizens an ace up their sleeve. In case the Court says one thing and does another, disregarding the city’s people, Lin Feng would have this final card to protect them.
This way, both sides could feel at ease.
These days, Lin Feng recuperated at home, gradually dispelling the residual black energy within him.
The Imperial Censor had also initially intended to win over Lin Feng, thus he hadn’t caused them any trouble.
Lin Feng also instructed Wu Fa to prepare good food at home every day, delivering it to the Imperial Censor, and over time, the group developed a good relationship with him.
With Lin Feng’s health restored, he prepared to teach at the academy.
Since Lin Feng planned to give a class, he decided to prepare gifts for his apprentices.
Lin Feng’s gifts were simple, crafting two treasures for his two apprentices.
One was Bi’er, Ping’er’s daughter, and the other was Jing’er, a young boy identified by the Star Furnace as having cultivation talent before it self-destructed.
Lin Feng pondered; with the Star Furnace destroyed, what could he use to craft magical treasures? He felt a twinge of regret.
Thus, Lin Feng began devising a way to create a cauldron for crafting magical treasures.
"What do you need?" Wu Tian asked Lin Feng.
Lin Feng produced a spiritual map, which he had drawn using his Spiritual Sense.
"This map shows the specific locations of the fragments that could be found after the Star Furnace exploded. I need you to help me find a group of meticulous cultivators to retrieve these fragments."
Wu Tian inquired, "What use is the Star Furnace now?"
Lin Feng said, "I plan to use these to craft some treasures."
Upon hearing Lin Feng’s intentions, Wu Tian remembered he had an Eight Diagrams Tai Xuan Furnace.
"I’ll lend you my Eight Diagrams Tai Xuan Furnace; you should wait on retrieving the Star Furnace," Wu Tian responded calmly to Lin Feng.
Why do I need to wait?
Lin Feng saw that Wu Tian was stringing him along, so he didn’t press further.
The next day at the academy, Lin Feng arrived at the school with a small bronze cauldron in hand.
When Lin Feng returned to the academy, everyone welcomed him warmly.
Lin Feng hadn’t been to the school for quite some time, and now there were many children who had learned some advanced spells.
