Auric was using his Rain of Fire, but with his lightning element.

As a result, multiple lightning bolts shot toward the scavengers.

"!!!" The scavengers were startled, especially because of their boss’ warning.

A few flashes entered their vision. They tried to erect a barrier, but it was already too late.

The lightning struck some men and electrocuted them. Some of them were struck so hard that they left a hole in their bodies.

Auric had just killed five people in this attack, and it left the people speechless.

It wasn’t just the enemy who were shocked by the sudden attack. The allies couldn’t help but widen their eyes.

"This power..." Tommi gasped. He had made a fireball as well. Even though he didn’t understand why Auric was releasing his power before the building came down, he still tried to follow him.

But it turned out Auric knew that someone would have cleared the path. More importantly, Tommi was actually startled by the power Auric’s lightning contained.

"This..." Vera’s body shook. The lightning was so powerful that it could kill so many people at once. Even if it was an ambush, an attack from someone with a baby-form avatar shouldn’t contain this much power.

’This power... It’s equal to rank two. This means whoever had released this attack actually possesses a juvenile-form avatar. But there’s no one with a lightning element...’ Vera’s mind was running wild.

’No, there is one...’ Vera gulped. She didn’t want to believe it, but she had witnessed this power with her own eyes. There was no mistaking it. ’Auric Elfe has multiple elements.’

Christopher had a lightning element, but he was an assassin. He couldn’t launch an attack from such a distance with this much power.

So, she could only think of one person.

’Don’t tell me... He has been hiding his power all along? How long has he been at the school? If his age is really 17, that means he has only awakened his avatar for two months. And that is enough to evolve his avatar?’

Vera felt a chill run down her spine. ’There is another possibility. He’s an heir to a wealthy family. His family has been giving him all the materials he needs, but this is a unique element we’re talking about.

’And he needs the body to receive all that energy, not to mention his combat strength is higher than Tommi. He is also an evolution master...’

Vera simply couldn’t understand a creature called Auric. Nothing matched. Auric’s family background was normal. His family was well-off, but they weren’t exactly wealthy.

He had no prior experience learning combat techniques. He didn’t enter any dojo to learn martial arts.

No one seemed to be teaching him to become an evolution master either.

Yet, somehow, Auric managed to possess high combat prowess, become an evolution master, and even evolve his avatar so quickly. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

She simply couldn’t understand how Auric could achieve all this. If it were Ellia, she would also consider the fact that he was the creator of the gathering techniques as well as the artificial heart methods.

Vera gulped. ’Now I know why they want to pay attention to this guy...’

Vera misunderstood. The reason they made this mission was Tommi, not Auric.

Nonetheless, she had to shift her focus back to the enemy.

After all, Auric might have killed several of them, but more were coming. The bald man leaped into the air and gathered his energy around his remaining arm, expanding that arm.

"You’re going to pay for this!" The bald man roared, planning to crush the wind barrier and defeat both girls.

However, Tommi’s flame suddenly flew toward him and hit him.

The absolute fire exploded and engulfed him.

"Aaaahhhh!" The bald man screamed as he hurriedly used his own energy to try to extinguish the flame.

"We need to get away now!" Ellia grabbed Vera’s shoulder, ready to use her Void Step to teleport them away.

"Wait." Vera actually grabbed her arm while raising her other hand, pointing her palm at the enemy group.

The wind barrier suddenly burst and launched the rubble toward the scavengers.

The scavengers were trying to protect themselves, but two guys got hit and knocked down.

Then, Ellia immediately activated her Void Step and teleported them away.

Ellia and Vera began running, trying to catch up with the others. Ellia said, "Well done. You guys should continue heading west. It looks like some of them are coming to catch you. We’ll try to meet up at the edge of the city."

"Understood." Auric nodded and started running with Tommi.

Tommi couldn’t help but say, "Your lightning element is actually that strong? When did you evolve your avatar? Don’t tell me you had evolved before our fight? You had been holding back all this time?"

Auric continued running in silence, not planning to answer any of his questions. The only reason he released the full power of the lightning was that if he didn’t, the situation would become even worse.

The number of enemies as well as their strength was something that couldn’t be handled if he didn’t use all his power.

At this rate, Auric might have to use elemental fusion as well. He didn’t know whether this situation warranted him revealing another element.

For the time being, he planned to do his best to solve the situation.

After all, the people at the front had encountered another problem. The scavengers came out of the mall and tried to stop them.

"Tsk." Milinda clicked her tongue. "Eric, on me. Be careful, I may not be able to keep you safe all the time."

"Understood." Eric nodded with a serious expression.

There were about fifteen people coming out of the mall.

"Arina, Ruka. Mess with them!" Milinda took charge as she was the strongest among them.

Both of them manifested their powers and tried to spread them as widely as possible. Multiple roots and vines emerged from the ground and surrounded the enemy.

A few people released their own power to stop their abilities. In the end, they managed to overwhelm Ruka and Arina with their sheer numbers.

Several others tried to shoot at them, but Milinda moved to the front and formed a barrier as she closed in.

There were four scavengers holding swords and one holding a spear.

Two swordsmen were leaning toward Eric, while the others tried to focus on Milinda.

Milinda summoned multiple spears toward them.

The spearman released his wind element and deflected Milinda’s spears. One swordsman slashed her shield, forcing Milinda to duck to avoid the slash. The other swordsman was coming for her neck.

Milinda stepped on the ground firmly and thrust her spear. The man was forced to swing faster than intended to block the spear, but Milinda pulled it back and thrust it again.

Her movements were swift and precise. The swordsman tried to stop her, but her spear pierced his heart after three thrusts.

Then, she sliced his neck and hit the head with her spear, launching it at the other swordsman who almost reached her.

The head caught him off guard and destabilized his position, allowing Milinda to stab his body a couple of times.

With the two swordsmen dead, Milinda confronted the spearman. She released the spears again, but the spearman used his wind element one more time.

This spearman had evolved, so he managed to boost his physical ability equal to Milinda’s. Both of them exchanged multiple clashes, but Milinda had to worry about two things.

She needed to keep Eric safe and watch out for bullets or any elemental attacks from the enemy.

"You’re not going anywhere!" The spearman matched her movement, planning to stop her.

However, Milinda simply looked to the left and raised her left hand. A few throwing knives formed in her hand.

She tossed it with precision, hitting the head of another guy who was about to surround Eric.

"!!!" Eric was surprised. He had his own confidence, but after seeing how Milinda was still able to watch over him while fighting more people, Eric thought he might have become a bit complacent after defeating Simon.

"You think you can still look away when fighting me?!" The spearman increased his speed.

Milinda had to move her spear with only one hand, so she was overwhelmed by the enemy. She could only deflect the enemy’s spear with one hand, but she didn’t plan to lose.

"Yeah. Because the safe above your head isn’t safe." Milinda smiled.

"!!!" The spearman raised his head and saw a massive safe that dropped onto him. The massive weight caused the safe to crack the concrete road.

Then, Milinda positioned herself behind the safe as multiple bullets and elemental attacks came at her.

The safe blocked everything, but the spearman recovered right away and thrust his spear.

"You bitch!"

"Language." Milinda suddenly created a light bulb. This light bulb shone brightly, blinding their eyes.

The spearman took a step back while trying to keep his eyes open. Milinda, on the other hand, was completely fine, as sunglasses already covered her eyes.

She then thrust her spear. The spearman managed to avoid it at the last moment, but Milinda slightly changed the direction and swung it upward, slicing the man’s arm.

Milinda had been dreaming of many things. She was able to use the time when she was supposed to sleep to learn many things, such as throwing knives or even a way to wield other weapons.

In addition, her imagination became wilder because of this power. She could take out anything that might look harmless normally and turn it into a weapon that could protect her or defeat her enemy.

"Fire in the hole!" Milinda formed a grenade and tossed it toward the scavengers that had been providing cover fire.

"!!!" They panicked and tried to get away, but the grenade didn’t explode. It was a fake one, but enough to distract them.

Milinda immediately closed the distance with the spearman. The spearman thrust his spear in exchange.

Milinda deflected the spear with her own and moved around the man before kicking him on the shin, causing the man to fall headfirst.

Of course, Milinda had prepared a little present on the floor. The man saw lego pieces on the floor as his head hit the ground.

Not stopping there, Milinda raised her right foot and stomped on his head so hard that even the concrete road cracked.

The man tried one last struggle before he passed out. He flung his spear to the back so that it would spin toward Milinda, but Eric suddenly came in from the side and sliced his hand first, causing the spear to go nowhere.

"We’re even." Eric smiled.

Milinda suddenly formed a shield in front, protecting them from incoming attacks. "Maybe not."

She then sliced the man’s neck to make sure he died.

The time they took to eliminate all of these people allowed Ellia and Vera to catch up.

"Wind never extinguishes." Vera leaped into the air and waved her sword down.

A crescent-shaped wind blade flew down toward the enemy. They tried to attack the wind, but when the flow of the wind was disrupted, the wind actually split into a few and became smaller wind blades.

Eventually, it split so much that it sliced a few people into pieces and severely injured the others.

Ruka and Arina took this chance to attack the rest of the people.

Still, the rest of the enemy were chasing after them.

"Keep running!" Ellia shouted and gathered her power into her blade. She could hear the enemy catching up.

If they started attacking, it would cause a lot of problems. Hence, Ellia swung her blade to the side, this time directly slicing the building next to her. The top part of the building slid down and crumbled, opening a line of sight.

"!!!" The enemy panicked and halted their steps, remembering what happened earlier.

Scarface hurriedly took a peek and realized that there was no one to attack them. Ellia was just tricking them. Unfortunately for him, Ellia had taken that time to widen the distance between them.

"Shit. Don’t let them get away!"
