Chapter 147: Eliminating the Rest of the Enemies

"Aarggghhh!" Two people out of the remaining eleven were blown away. Among these eleven, nine had evolved.

The grenade was aimed so that it would hit those who had evolved. After all, they were much more of a threat to the group.

"Does that mean that guy possesses two elements and can combine them?"

"!!!" Arina was already tired of being surprised by what Auric could do. So, she expected that Auric could do everything. She just didn’t expect Auric to reveal it here.

On the other hand, Eric and Tommi had already seen this during the sparring. This was how Auric had beaten both of them at the same time.

The ones who couldn’t believe what they were seeing were Ruka and Vera.

’An elemental fusion?’ Ruka gasped. ’As someone who fights by manipulating elements, I know how hard it is to achieve elemental fusion. Usually, only twins or people who have been fighting together for decades can achieve something like this.’

The absolute fire dominated the fire elements of two people. If not for the fact that they had evolved, the two fire elements would be extinguished just by being near the absolute fire element.

Eric scooped the ground, forming a blood wave. This blood wave was still made of water, so the lightning from the roots was flowing on it, electrocuting the enemy group as it swept them.

Ellia then leaped into the air. She was aiming for Scarface, the leader of the first group.

Seeing that his movement had been restrained, Scarface grabbed the head of his subordinate on his left and placed him in front.

"What?" The guy was startled, but the next thing he saw was Ellia’s blade splitting him in two.

"Die!" Scarface took advantage of this opportunity to gather his power and planned to blast Ellia’s stomach open.

However, before he could unleash his ability, Vera came from the side and cut the remaining arm.

"!!!" Scarface was startled as his eyes shifted to Vera. "Aaahhhhh!"

Ellia glanced to the left and saw another person coming for Vera, so she spun her body and waved her sword, unleashing her sword strike toward this person. It wasn’t enough to kill him, but it was enough to launch him away.

Suddenly, a burst of wind formed underneath Ellia and launched her into the air.

It turned out the bald man had almost punched her with metal spikes covering his fist.

Then, Ellia used her Void Step to appear right behind the bald man. Noticing her movement, the bald man turned around while swinging the back of his hand.

Ellia calmly ducked, avoiding it effortlessly. She tilted her body even while she was on her knees, showing her strong lower-body. Her blade cut the bald man at the knees, causing him to lose the ability to move.

There were others approaching her and Vera, but Tommi and Eric unleashed their respective abilities to repel the people on Vera’s side.

Meanwhile, a wind blasted the people on Ellia’s side. This wind carried a powerful electric charge, numbing their bodies.

"Kill him," said Auric, looking at Ellia.

Ellia first eliminated those who could be eliminated, the bald leader of the second group with a single swing to the neck.

One leader was dead, and the other leader lost both arms. This group was supposed to be crippled, but as one would expect from scavengers, they were not. They might have leaders, but they were fighting for themselves.

Even after their leaders were taken down, the remaining people continued toward them.

"Aaaahhhh!" A man came charging toward Ellia. Ruka summoned a spike from the ground, stabbing the man from behind. This way, the man wouldn’t see her attack coming.

However, the man actually continued running even with a hole in his chest. He released fire all over his body at the last moment and used the momentum to propel himself toward Ellia.

"Tsk." Ellia clicked her tongue. Ruka’s attack showed her inexperience.

This was a scavenger, who had been cornered. If he were going to die, he would prefer to drag the enemy down with him.

That was why Ruka should have restrained him. Ellia, the vanguard, was supposed to kill him. In the end, Ruka’s role was to support. She had to support Ellia.

Due to her inexperience or greed, she tried to kill this man, which ended up endangering Ellia.

At the same time, a bullet hit another enemy. It was precisely Maxwell’s bullet. Christopher, the last person, didn’t show up, so Ellia couldn’t help but ask, "Where’s Christopher?"

"He’s holding back the enemy. We need to get it done here A.S.A.P." Milinda jumped back into the air.

Then, she opened her palm and formed a thick wire that shot to both sides, impaling the trees on either side. It tightened, allowing Milinda to pull herself back to the ground, which messed with the enemy’s timing.

Milinda impaled the enemy’s head and planted it on the ground before making another spear.

Meanwhile, Ellia and Vera moved toward the remaining people. Now that only three enemies remained, they were no longer a threat.

Both of them immediately came toward their targets as the last person was occupied with Milinda’s acrobatic movement.

Unfortunately, all of them had been distracted by Auric, Tommi, and Eric’s abilities.

Ellia, Milinda, and Vera took this opportunity to cut them down.

"We need to go and help them now! There are still about ten people left," Milinda shouted. Even when she helped them, both Christopher and Maxwell had already planned to regroup while bringing all these people.

They didn’t just want to get away from the enemy group. They wanted all of them dead.

Hence, they asked Milinda to create a space between them and the enemy before moving toward the forest. She was here to deliver the message, while Christopher assisted them to make them finish faster. Christopher, an assassin, ended up stalling the enemy.

"Ruka!" Vera pointed to Ruka.

"!!!" Ruka’s body tensed up. She had really messed up earlier.

"We’ll talk about your mistake later. For now, we have to regroup," Vera said angrily, before she launched herself into the air with her wind. Ellia and Milinda ran right after her.

Arina shouted, "Tommi or Eric. I need one to stay here with me to watch these bodies. We need to figure out their identities later, and I don’t want beasts to get them."

Tommi and Eric, who were ready to bolt out, abruptly halted their steps. They looked at each other before turning around at the same time.

"We will stay here." Tommi winked playfully.

"I only need one." Arina was bewildered, not expecting that these two proud guys actually chose to stay behind to do the boring things.

"Well, Auric has gone there, so there’s no point." Eric shrugged. "I... We’d better get more achievements here."

Tommi raised his fist, and Eric gave him a fist bump.

Arina was a bit speechless, not understanding what these boys were thinking, but she didn’t mind more company.

Meanwhile, Auric was going after the rest, but he intentionally slowed down to match his pace to Ruka’s.

He didn’t plan to say anything about her mistake earlier because he might also make some mistakes. It was normal to make mistakes after all.

On the other hand, the three girls were already rushing toward Christopher and Maxwell.

Without hesitation, Maxwell lifted up his rifle and shot one of them before leaping off the building before the guy chasing him could strike him.

Christopher, on the other hand, turned around and leaped back toward one of them and stabbed him in both the chest and the head with his daggers. He grabbed the two daggers firmly before kicking his body into another enemy.

Ellia and the others had arrived and started taking them down. The level of these people was below that of their previous enemies, so they could take them down swiftly.

Auric and Ruka also arrived not long after, providing some support.

As a result, they managed to take down the remaining scavengers within two minutes.

It was surprising that a group with only ten people managed to take down two groups with a total of fifty people. If not for their high individual strength and clever tactics, they would have been the ones who lost.

However, the group was not out of danger yet.

When everyone thought they had won, Auric’s expression remained grim as his eyes were fixed on Maxwell.
