THE GOD EATER
Chapter 546: Making A Deal.
He is currently flying through space between worlds. He doesn’t have a destination in mind, and he doesn’t plan to stop running because he is afraid that Loki will be able to find him.
To him, the possibility that Loki is currently pursuing him and can find him is high because Loki’s final attack is still bothering him. Apparently, that yellow glow on Loki’s fist hadn’t been simple after all.
Right now, his entire body is glowing a dim yellow light. This is not his natural state at all, and he is not the one making the yellow light.
His natural state is to have a silvery gray complexion. But now, he is yellow like a mortal with jaundice and liver failure.
He doesn’t have a liver, but it is clear that he is sick. And it is all because of Loki.
At least, he doesn’t doubt that Loki is to be blamed for this. He is so sure that Loki is responsible for his current plight that he is willing to stake his life on it.
His black eyes were weary as he said, "What else does he want from me?"
"He already made me lose one Divine Metac and hundreds of my lifespan and 80% of my Cave Heaven. Isn’t that enough for him? Does he want my life, too?"
"And for what? Because I wanted to know what he was doing?"
"He could have just said no when I asked to enter the core of his Cave Heaven and see what was going on there? There was no need to go this far?"
He is being reasonable now, but it is only because he knows without a doubt that Loki is stronger than him. When he was making his demands, he made the belief that he was twice as strong as Loki and was most likely richer in lifespan.
But it turned out that he was wrong. And not just a little wrong. He was dead wrong.
Even after paying so much and giving up so much to escape, there is still a venom bothering him. This venom is destroying his life and reducing his lifespan every second.
He is a divine being, so he can heal any injury. But this injury is special in that Loki can maintain the venom by spending his lifespan to keep it active.
This is why the venom is still trying to kill him, even though he has spent a lot of his lifespan removing it. Since Loki is also spending more of his lifespan to keep the venom active, he has to keep resisting by spending his lifespan. This makes the struggle with the venom a tug of war between him and Loki.
So Loki is still trying to kill him even though they are so far apart. The worst part is that Loki only needs to spend 6 years of his lifespan, while he has to spend 42 years of his lifespan for every 6 years that Loki spends to keep the venom active.
This disparity in how much lifespan they have to spend on each side of the tug of war has put him at a terrible disadvantage. He has used up all of his world essence, but he still hasn’t been able to make Loki give up.
He had been hoping that by creating enough distance between him and Loki, the venom would lose its connection. But he quickly realized that running wasn’t helping and that he would die soon.
He didn’t want to die, so he reached out to Loki and said, "You won’t gain anything by killing me."
He doesn’t know who Loki is or where Loki is, but he can send a message to anyone he has met before in the Blessed Heaven World. This is a privilege granted by the divine constellation.
Since he had fought Loki, he had met the criteria to get in touch with Loki. However, he wasn’t hopeful that Loki would reply.
So he was surprised when Loki sent back a message saying, "So what? Isn’t your death and pain enough for me?"
"It seems you don’t know me. I am not a greedy person. I am easily content, so even the littlest things would satisfy me."
The swordsman didn’t believe Loki because he didn’t believe that any divine being could be greedy. But he didn’t try to argue with Loki about that claim.
Instead, he said, "What if I offer you something better?"
There was a chuckle before Loki said, "Is that so? Go on, then. I’m listening."
He disliked the cockiness in Loki’s tone, so he gritted his teeth and ground them together as he said, "What if I promise not to tell anyone that you have four Divine Metacs?"
This time, Loki laughed before saying, "What nonsense are you talking about? Are you that pompous that you don’t believe that another rank 6 cultivator can’t defeat you without four Divine Metacs?"
The question frustrated the swordsman and made him growl in anger as he said, "I know what I saw. You have four or probably five Divine Metacs if I add this venom one."
Loki could only say, "Do you know how you sound right now? You sound like a madman."
"I know I defeated you, but I didn’t expect that you would lose your mind because of it. I’ve heard that the Dao Heart of sword cultivators are fragile, but I didn’t expect this much fragility."
Loki was telling him that even if he exposed the five Divine Metacs, no one would believe him. And the swordsman agreed with this statement.
The swordsman was sure that many people would call him a madman, just like Loki did. But he also knew that if anyone became curious enough to know the truth, Loki would be badgered with inquiries to know if he truly used five Divine Metacs.
The possibility of someone believing him is very low, but it is all he has, and he doesn’t want to die.
