’Damn.’

That was the word that kept repeating in Ravian’s mind every time he read his current system window, especially the new ability.

Void Shadow.

A skill that had permanently erased his shadow from existence, erasing along with it every trace Ravian might leave behind by accident, which meant tracking him through conventional or known methods had become impossible.

But none of that was anything compared to its true power. Its real strength lay in the effect he could impose on his enemies and their life force by using that ability.

He could simply erase an enemy’s shadow slowly, greatly weakening their life force. In fact, as the system had mentioned, it would be much easier than that, and could even lead to death if the ability was used on someone at his own level.

’System, isn’t this ability... a little broken?’ Ravian asked inwardly, his eyes still fixed on the system window.

[In response to the host, no, this ability is not excessive. It suits the host’s element perfectly, as well as his status as the bearer of Sovereign Pride.]

[However, for clarification, the host will not obtain an ability with every 0.001% increase in comprehension of the Law of Void. This skill is one of the foundations of the Law of Void, which is why obtaining it was easy once a small part of the law was comprehended. Although, comprehending even a part of the law while the host is still at the Tenth Rank may be far more absurd than the acquired ability itself.]

’Isn’t it normal to comprehend even 0.001% of a law at the Tenth Rank?’ Ravian asked the system.

This time, the system did not respond immediately. Instead, it paused for two seconds before answering.

[That is not possible before the Fourth Rank, host. You must reach the level of Nation’s Wing, the Fourth Rank of the Awakened, before you can even begin establishing your own law, let alone begin comprehending it.]

The system explained with complete calm, but Ravian’s mind was not nearly that calm.

’Hell no,’ Ravian thought.

[Yes, host.]

’...Damn. I really might be a genius.’ Ravian thought as a wide smile faintly spread across his lips.

He could not believe the ability he had obtained, but now he thought it was fair if he compared it to what he had achieved in order to obtain that ability.

However, Ravian decided to focus on something else for now.

’Nation’s Wing... so that is the name of the Fourth Rank.’

’It seems that rank is truly a qualitative leap in soul power and its effect on the material world.’ Ravian guessed as he drifted into his thoughts, but the blood on his body quickly began bothering him again.

’I think I need to wash up first and return before I start causing trouble and they send someone to look for me.’ Ravian thought as he headed toward the cave entrance and the boulder blocking it, unaware that he would be reconsidering that decision again very soon.

Then he lightly placed his hand on the boulder at the entrance and pushed forward with a gentle motion.

Rasp.

He heard a harsh grinding sound with a faint ring to it as the ground scraped against the three-meter-wide boulder, which had been moved aside with complete ease by one of Ravian’s hands.

"Woah!" Ravian was startled by how easy it was, and quickly rushed to grab the boulder before it could slide into the forest at high speed and cause serious destruction in its path.

Fortunately, he managed to catch it.

At the same time, the moment he stepped outside, he glimpsed the sun rising in the sky. Birds had begun to sing in the forest as life returned to it, but Ravian did not pay much attention. He knew these woods could turn into a lethal danger at any moment, so he decided to quickly finish what he was doing.

Ravian began calmly pushing the boulder toward the river, back to the place he had taken it from in the beginning.

Yes, Ravian had brought it from the river by the waterfall. It had been one of the massive rocks scattered randomly through the river, one of which he had previously used as an anchor for his dagger while hiding to ambush the Ninth-Rank orc.

And now, he finally returned it to its place with far more ease than before. It had taken him roughly half an hour to move it the first time, but now, Ravian reached the river while pushing it along with him in less than five minutes.

A vast difference.

The moment he reached the river, he pushed it in and let it settle back into its natural place. Then he jumped into the water as well, paying little attention to the current.

As soon as he leapt into the water, Ravian felt the water refresh his new body, while the swift current washed the filth and blood from his skin, leaving him clean and gleaming.

Ravian continued diving into the water and swimming strongly against the current every few minutes whenever he saw that he was getting close to the edge of the waterfall. And when he finally felt refreshed enough and was sure that his entire body had been washed clean, Ravian decided to get out.

The moment he climbed onto one of the banks of the waterfall river, Ravian quickly sat down to look at his reflection in the water. He felt that his appearance might have changed after the reconstruction his body had undergone, but what he saw left him far more shocked than he had expected.

In the reflection was a pale-skinned young man with beautiful long white hair and two crimson eyes that seemed indifferent, yet had a sharp, beautiful shape to them. He had a straight nose that suited those indifferent eyes and straight brows, and his eyelashes and the hair of his eyelids were white, just like the hair on his head, confirming the uniqueness of his color rather than making it look like dye or anything similar.

His jaw was sharper than before, though not in an exaggerated way.

He looked like a slightly cold young noble, not the imaginary, feminine fairy-tale prince girls dreamed of in their picture stories, but a cautious, cold young man with a handsome and indifferent appearance, owing to the depth and calmness in his eyes, which seemed to tell of the many dangers, horrors, and moments of fear he had survived.

’Is... is this me?’
