Lin Fei directly brought the waiter to a secluded staircase before letting him go, his gaze sharp: "Tell me, where did you take Shen Peini?"

Luo Ying and the bodyguard were both stunned, eyes wide, staring at the suddenly fierce Lin Fei.

The waiter said in terror, "Sir, I don’t know what you’re talking about!"

"Someone tampered with the surveillance. You say you didn’t see anything, but it’s past one in the morning, and there aren’t many people coming and going. I understand if you can’t see clearly on the monitor, but you’re at such a visible spot; how could you not notice a big celebrity?"

"I really didn’t notice."

The waiter said in a panic.

"Heh!"

Lin Fei’s lips curled into a slight arc, revealing a hint of coldness.

"Even if you really didn’t notice, when I showed you the photo earlier, you calmly shook your head. You don’t recognize Shen Peini?" Lin Fei stared at the waiter.

The waiter’s face grew increasingly flustered: "I do recognize her, but I didn’t see her come out."

"Since you know her, wouldn’t the disappearance of a star here be surprising? Yet, you seem very calm!" Lin Fei looked at the waiter with a mocking smile.

Finally, Luo Ying and the bodyguard understood.

Luo Ying became excited: "Where’s Jiayin? If you don’t tell us, I’ll call the police!"

Lin Fei waved his hand to signal Luo Ying not to speak, pressing the waiter against the corner with a cold and stern expression: "The surveillance was tampered with; Shen Peini was taken away by someone. You better explain clearly, or you’ll be looking at years in jail!"

"I... I... I couldn’t help it either."

The waiter burst into tears.

"Don’t fucking cry; it’s not the time for your tears. Where is Shen Peini? If anything happens to her, your crime will be even greater!" Lin Fei’s tone was icy.

...

In a black sedan, Shen Peini sat in the back seat; with masked men on either side, escaping was impossible.

Although dressed in casual home clothes, unlike a celebrity, Shen Peini remained exceptionally calm.

"Why did you capture me?"

"Be quiet, don’t ask too many questions!"

One of the masked men hissed in a low voice.

"You’ve already caught me, what more can’t I ask?"

Jiayin said calmly.

"Asking too much won’t do you any good."

The man snorted.

Leaning against the backrest, Shen Peini said somewhat helplessly, "This will worry a lot of people."

"Worry if they want; even if they call the police, it won’t help!"

A man sneered.

"But some will be angry too."

Shen Peini sighed, appearing very resigned.

A masked man turned his head, his eyes showing a few lines of sinister ferocity: "You’re quite bold. I like this courage!"

"Don’t make trouble!"

Another masked man snorted coldly.

"What’s there to be afraid of? She’s in our hands; we can do whatever we want!"

The shifty-eyed man said discontentedly, though he took no action.

It was then that Shen Peini asked again, "Why did you capture me, after all?"

"You’ll know when we get there!"

One masked man snorted coldly.

Shen Peini seemed genuinely unafraid, finding a spot to sit down casually, glancing at the tightly closed door, and frowned slightly: "What exactly do you want with me? Could it be my fans?"

Suddenly, the door opened, and a man walked in, a mass of fat, grinning so much that his face’s flesh shook violently.

"Haha, Miss Jiayin, I’m really sorry for putting you in this position, but we had to use such means to invite you here." The fat man said with a big smile, looking at Shen Peini.
