The Kitty Became a Cutie and Was Pampered in the 80s
Chapter 1969: Wolf Pups (Part 2)
When she came back after seeing off the veterinarian, she saw that Rou Rou was still in the same posture. She didn’t pay much attention, just turned around and went to the kitchen to make noodles for Xiaoxue. Noodles are the best for boosting milk production, and Xiaoxue had a large litter. It was the most urgent matter at the moment.
However, Xiaoxue really had too many pups. After finishing the noodles prepared by the Ruanlin Family, she had to nurse them in three batches because she ran out of milk towards the end. The Ruanlin Family had to use a bottle for artificial feeding, and Ruan Jiaojiao helped too.
The one she was holding had the same pattern as Rou Rou when it was a puppy. Seeing it drink milk with its eyes closed and making noises, she couldn’t help but remember the way she brought Rou Rou home. She didn’t expect that over ten years had passed in the blink of an eye.
She remembered the butcher uncle who always wanted Rou Rou to breed and asked the Ruanlin Family, "Grandma, I wonder if that butcher uncle is still around selling meat. He really liked Rou Rou back then. Every time he saw Rou Rou, he wanted it to breed, very persistent."
Hearing Ruan Jiaojiao talk about this, the Ruanlin Family also looked a bit nostalgic and smiled, "Indeed, back then, half of his meat bones were eaten by Rou Rou."
"Awoo!" Hearing this, Rou Rou immediately raised its neck and started howling, nudging one of the small pups in Xiaoxue’s embrace, indicating that there were so many pups, they could just give some away since it was worried it couldn’t raise them all.
Of course, after doing this, it immediately received a look from Xiaoxue, so it pretended to be obedient, tucking its tail and blinking, showing its innocence.
But truly, Rou Rou was troubled.
Originally it thought that having seven or eight would be enough, so it could have a one-on-one match with Xiaobai’s long worms. Who knew it turned out to be thirteen? Just thinking about it was terrifying.
After feeding all the little wolf pups, Ruan Jiaojiao went back to school the next day for classes, went to bed early, and the Ruanlin Family, being older, couldn’t get up frequently at night. So they prepared a big bowl of meat noodle soup for Xiaoxue to eat by herself and instructed Rou Rou to look after things a bit.
As a result, early the next morning before dawn, the Ruan Family got into an uproar.
Rou Rou was running around the courtyard howling.
Everyone in the Ruan Family was startled and got up quickly to check the situation. They looked and couldn’t help but laugh and cry.
It turned out Rou Rou was really worried about how to raise so many pups. In the middle of the night, while Xiaoxue was sleeping soundly, it took out the six extra pups from the nest and hid them around.
One was tucked in the vegetable garden, two were stashed in the utility room, and three were hidden under the sofa. One pup was nowhere to be found, driving Xiaoxue into a frenzy, chasing Rou Rou all over the house, howling incessantly.
Once the entire Ruan Family was up, they didn’t care about anything else and started to help search, but couldn’t find it. Finally, Duan Xi got up, walked straight to the front door, opened the iron gate, and saw the little wolf pup that had been shoved out through the gap underneath the gate by Rou Rou.
Luckily, it was almost June, and the weather was warm, so the little wolf pup wasn’t frozen, just a bit startled.
Because of this incident, Rou Rou, following Xiaoxue, got scolded by the Ruanlin Family, finally settling down. When Ruan Jiaojiao learned from Duan Xi why Rou Rou had acted that way, she felt helpless yet amused and shared her plans of opening a zoo with it. From then on, Rou Rou’s restless fatherly heart could finally be set at ease.
