The Last King Of Darkness
Chapter 1892 - 852: Black Fog Riot (Part 2)
However, just as the Great Prophet was about to refuse, the next moment, the voice of the Great Shepherd Leader came out of the air.
"Casas, do as Lord Rod says."
The Great Prophet froze, and cried out in shock, "Great Shepherd Leader, th-this, how can this be allowed? If, if by any chance..."
"There is no ’by any chance’."
The ethereal voice of the Great Shepherd Leader echoed through the air, representing absolute authority.
"Do as I command."
The Great Prophet’s expression twisted, his face full of reluctance, but the Great Shepherd Leader was one of the highest figures in Saint Longde, second only to the Fire Saint Emperor, even slightly above Solos, and the Prophetic City had been built by his own hand.
His orders could not be disobeyed.
"I—I understand, I will strictly obey your order, Your Excellency Great Shepherd Leader."
With his head lowered, the Great Prophet came to the Main Tower’s control platform and issued the command to restart the Prophetic City.
Countless prophecy towers began to light up, the radiance of prophecy started to shine; within each prophecy tower, innumerable priests were casting prophetic materials into the furnaces, the special energy thus generated would be emitted from the tower tips, finally converging into the Main Tower, forming an unimaginably vast energy flow that drove the Great Prophecy Plate, thereby forming an extremely powerful prophecy.
This was how the Prophetic City operated; this was large-scale, high-power prophecy.
But now, its core had changed; a strange book had replaced the Great Prophecy Plate, becoming the convergence point of the energy flow.
No one was certain it would succeed. The Great Prophecy Plate was irreplaceable; it had undergone countless adjustments to reach its optimal state. It was forged from the remains of an Ancient Sovereign God; this fallen Ancient God was the Main God of the Ancient God of Destiny, and even its corpse still possessed an unimaginable power of destiny.
By what right could a mere book replace it?
The rainbow light of prophecy converged from all directions, forming a special ocean of energy that poured into the Book of Eternity.
In that instant, Asa felt an immense power; its body was filled with the aura of destiny, and its soul was filled with the power of time.
"Ah, so much, so much, I’m being filled to the brim—ahhh, I’m overflowing!"
The Light of Prophecy rapidly flooded the entire Book of Eternity; in that moment, Asa felt as if it were controlling the entire Prophetic City, its sight lifted to an extreme height, as though looking down upon all beings from ten thousand yards in the sky.
"So this is what it feels like to control fate?"
Asa shouted excitedly within its soul; these powers were completely under its control, like its own hands and feet.
Rustle!
The stiff pages of the Book of the Past began to turn, the aura of time began to sink into that stone, and the prophecy was taking shape.
At that moment, everyone in the Prophetic City felt something amiss. The Great Prophet cried out in horror, "What is it? What is controlling the Prophetic City? That book—that book has intelligence!"
Hopeful light flashed in Solos’s eyes. "Rod... he might truly be our light of salvation. He is not only the Dark Destroyer, absolutely not only that."
On the Book of Eternity, a fierce prophetic radiance was shining; everyone knew that the prophecy was about to take form.
Rustle!
The Book of the Past flipped another page.
Asa’s voice suddenly sounded in the air.
"Ah, the Black Fog has receded, this is a miracle."
The light of prophecy gradually became clear, and a strange scene unfolded before their eyes: a handsome man standing atop a desolate mountain, roaring in fury at heaven and earth. Infinite ripples converged into his body, a mighty power rose within his soul; in the blink of an eye, he reached the Peak of Half King and mastered multiple Root Origins.
Rod recognized at a glance that this man was the Ancient Space God.
"Is this the process of his ascent to godhood?"
"He, like the Ancient Gods, was originally human?"
The scene began to skip, time accelerating in its flow. The power of the Ancient Space God grew rapidly; soon, he stepped into the Primordial and possessed the strength of a quasi-god.
A scepter also appeared in his hand; at the top of the scepter was that stone, which should be his Source Artifact Core.
At the same time, countless materials converged around him; soon, an enormous warship appeared beneath his feet. It sailed through the Material World, the Spirit Realm, and the Starry Sky at unimaginable speed, bearing numberless powerhouses to battle various Black Fog monsters.
By this time, beings as powerful as he were beginning to appear at his side; those should be the other Ancient Gods.
In the flashing images, Rod saw the presence of the Red War God Beakleus, and also the figures that seemed to be the Ancient Golden War God Ares and the Ancient Death God Hastar.
The images flickered madly, time rushing past at an unimaginable speed.
Rod saw that, under the ceaseless campaigns of the Ancient Gods, humanity gradually flourished. City after city was built, road after road opened; the territory controlled by living beings expanded rapidly, the Black Fog retreated layer by layer, and the land was filled with human presence.
"This is the Main Continent!"
Suddenly, Solos spoke.
"I have seen the terrain of the Main Continent by certain special means; those rolling ridges are the legendary Heavenly Mountains, there can be no mistake!"
Rod’s heart trembled. So the Ancient Gods had been active on the Main Continent—no wonder that on the Edge Continent they had only been able to find the Divine Cities of the Ancient Gods, yet no trace of the presence of the Ancient Gods themselves.
Just then, an unprecedentedly massive Golden Light suddenly appeared in the scene. Rod’s eyes widened; he saw within that Golden Light a surging flame, condensed into substance, like a sun.
