The Last King Of Darkness
Chapter 1906 - 856: Sun Bombardment (Part 2)
Rod’s heart trembled. This voice was clearly directed at him, and he immediately recalled the two abilities of the [Dark Devourer], one called [Destroying Darkness], the other [God-breaking].
The voice of the shadow displayed a rare hint of strange fluctuation. In that moment, it was as if a large portion of human rationality returned to his soul.
"The God Breaker has returned? How... How is this possible? The destined fate was not like this..."
He seemed to want to say more, but the dark storm faded at the speed of light, and that terrifying boundless universe also vanished from their sight. Everything returned to normal, and the distant Royal City still stood on the ground, with the gigantic shadow appearing like an illusion, as if it had never been there.
However, Rod knew it was definitely not an illusion, because that voice still lingered in the air.
"Find, find the most evil one..."
Boom!
A massive vibration came, and the black light of the dark sun descended once more. From within the black light, a terrifying dark monster stepped out; it possessed at least 600 marks of Divine Power, with over 60 billion Spiritual Energy simultaneously blossoming within.
Undoubtedly, this was a complete Black Fog Primordial Body, with power similar to a fallen Ancient God.
But this time, the Dark Ring did not appear because its vessel stood in the Royal City, that towering shadow let out a ferocious roar, swinging a heavy fist infused with over 625 marks of Divine Power and 6250 billion Spiritual Energy towards the Black Fog Primordial Body.
In an instant, the two terrifying dark monsters were locked in battle, and the shadow almost immediately suppressed the Black Fog Primordial Body completely. But the next second, more Black Fog Primordial Bodies appeared from the black light.
At the same time, countless Black Fog Avatars and Black Fog Symbionts surged forth like an overwhelming dark tide from the black light, but the shadow alone blocked them all, as a terrifying dark storm descended from the sky, enveloping the entire Royal City.
An incredibly frightful Black Domain was thus formed.
Chilling ripples madly spread outward, and the power represented by each wave far exceeded the combined total of Rod and Solos.
Suddenly, Rod understood what the King of Yarno meant by, "can still hold on for a while."
Not only did it signify how long his remaining will could withstand the corrosion of the Black Fog, but more importantly, it indicated he could hold off the tide of Black Fog for a while.
"I understand, I understand."
Solos murmured, "This is the Dark Uprising, the tide of Black Fog."
"The ultimate great disaster has arrived!"
"Quick, go!"
He was suddenly awakened, grabbed Rod, and flew towards the twisted space.
"We don’t have much time, go save the King of Yarno’s people!"
"We still have hope!"
In that instant, the silhouettes of the two vanished into the air, and the next second, the dark shockwave swept across. The ground collapsed, mountains crumbled, and the twisted space was torn open, destroyed.
As Rod and Solos stepped out from the other side, the spatial magic formation behind them vanished into nothingness.
Rod turned to look, only to see the vast Black Fog. He was now over 5000 kilometers from Yanuo Royal City, and the tremors caused by the terrifying battle could still be clearly felt.
Fortunately, Spiritual Communication had not been interrupted; Saint Longde had special communication methods, and contact with a Primordial stronghold usually wouldn’t be interrupted within 500 kilometers.
At this moment, everyone knew that a terrifying battle was taking place over at Yanuo Royal City. Solos, using the shortest words, told everyone the key points and then said, "Sir Rod, I must immediately return to Saint Longde Royal City. The final plan requires a full sacrifice. I must immediately inform the Fire Saint Emperor and begin preparing the full sacrificial ceremony, as I am the only one who can do this. I leave the task of rescuing Yarno’s people to you."
Rod’s heart sank, but he replied without hesitation, "I understand, rest assured, leave everything to me."
Solos then handed him the central crystal of Spiritual Communication: "This is the midpoint of the connection, and communications within 500 kilometers should not be disrupted."
Rod nodded. Whether it was because of the effect of Yanuo Royal City’s battle or not, the invisible suppression on him had completely vanished. With a motion of Divine Power, he directly opened the Teleportation Gate, sending Solos back to the Royal City before immediately beginning the rescue.
Though he was mentally prepared, the difficulty of the rescue still far exceeded Rod’s imagination.
All over the land of Yanuo, Black Fog Symbionts were pervasive, and Black Fog Avatars appeared everywhere like flashes of black lightning.
Moreover, there were mostly corpses and living corpses. Normally, weak living corpses posed no threat, but Yanuo was a powerful Kingdom, making the living corpses of strong individuals quite tricky, and their numbers were overwhelming.
Worse yet, at some unknown point, the Kingdom had been overrun by large and small Black Domains, with countless Black Fog Symbionts constantly pouring out from within. They obscured the sky and the land, turning the once powerful human civilization into a terrifying cradle.
Within each Black Domain lay a terrifying Black Fog Primordial Body. While it was possible to defeat them by combining forces, this was not something that could be done in a short time, and they couldn’t afford to expend immense efforts battling the Black Fog Primordial Bodies.
However, the Black Domains were highly sensitive to the presence of living beings, constantly pursuing any traces of life, moving slowly but relentlessly. The surging Black Fog Symbionts could drown everything.
Suddenly, a crisis emerged.
Rhein’s Spiritual Communication came to Solos’ ears: "Assistance, requesting assistance, location centered at origin, 231, 222, 911. I found a city that has yet to fall! At least 3 million people are trapped here, and a Black Domain is closing in! There are too many Black Fog Symbionts; I’m about to be overwhelmed!"
Rod didn’t hesitate to ignite the Spirit Lamp, and with a flash of the [Spirit Boat], he instantly appeared beside Rhein.
He was resisting the boundless black tide alongside several Primordial strong individuals. In the distance, a massive Black Domain loomed; the sky-high Black Fog gathered like a black pillar, continuing to press towards them.
Seeing the flicker of Spiritual Light, Rhein smiled, but the smile faded as soon as the light and mist dissipated, revealing only Rod.
"Why are you alone?"
"Where is Lord Solos?"
Rod replied, "He returned to the Royal City."
Rhein was visibly disappointed, "Then what do we do? Do we use the Teleportation Gate to escape? But there are too many people; at least half would die."
"No, they won’t."
Rod replied succinctly, closing his eyes.
Rhein shouted anxiously, "How will they not? With so many Black Fog Symbionts, even I can’t hold them off. Without Lord Solos, it’s impossible to stop them. Do you know how many there are?"
The next second, Rod opened his eyes, and his gaze was filled with swirling golden light.
"Do you know my power?"
Dream Realm.
Atop the Sun Tower, infinite brilliance erupted. Terrifying energy reverberated in every Spirit Light Cannon, as the golden light shimmering in Sun Lake swiftly gathered onto the tower.
Within the House of God, the Light Platform guided the Sun Tower’s sight, as the Star Core determined Rod’s Material World location.
The Book of Knowledge proclaimed excitedly, "Sun Bombardment preparation complete!"
"Fire!"
Boom!
Endless golden light rose from the Sun Tower, piercing through the Dream Realm and the Spirit Realm, directed by the Light Platform into the Void.
Boom boom boom!
Rhein suddenly realized that countless golden pillars of light descended from the sky, each filled with destructive energy.
The innumerable light columns, like a rainstorm of destruction, crashed directly into the wave of Black Fog Symbionts.
