Chapter 26: Dark Red Warriors

"Something in the forest is chasing the weaker beasts towards the outskirts. Dealing with them has given us quite the fortune and experience, but if there are beasts at the orange tier appearing, we can be in a lot of trouble," Bramm continued to speak, his mind drifting to the last few days of effort.

The group had killed a whole bunch of beasts over the week, so the spoils were basically overflowing. From meat, to claws, scales, teeth, and other beastly materials. Bramm was certain they would fetch a pretty penny in the city.

And not only that, the group itself had all finally advanced to Dark Red; that was the extent of how many they fought, because the number of beasts pushed Telarin, who was only in the Light Red realm at the start, all the way into Dark Red.

Thus, House Osric gained its first four Dark Red Warriors.

And not only that, the renown he had gained was substantial. The only reason Bramm had not spent a dime was due to the group of builders. Only once they left would Bramm go and summon more warriors.

"Resven, you and the others will escort the group of builders back to the city. I want you to go and sell all of these supplies again, once you’re done buy two or three more horses for extra carts. Once the builders have gathered all their supplies you are to escort them back."

"Be careful on the roads and trails, it isn’t safe anymore." Bramm escaped from his wandering thoughts, realising the group still stood before him waiting for his commands.

"We hear the commands," they bowed and saluted.

With the small group going their own ways and doing whatever they willed, Bramm gazed over their templates and smiled in gratification and absolute glee.

The Dark Red realm had a capacity limit of 5000 exp. Once you achieved it, you had to kill an orange-ranked beast and use its blood for advancement to the next realm. That was, of course, only in game-like terms.

But Bramm had smiled wildly when the group had returned, and he saw that Telarin had also advanced. Their current realm and experience, according to their panels, looked like this

Mestin - (2100/5000)

Keren - (1650/5000)

Resven - (1050/5000)

Telarin - (650/5000)

It was an absolute massive boost in gains, renown, and strength. The renown had skyrocketed to a number of 8300 renown. With this number, Bramm could unlock the Orange tier - [Veteran] and possibly even summon one, or he could summon 13 Dark Red [Militiamen].

"Hoho, once the builders are gone, I’ll unlock the orange tier and summon a few red tier warriors to pad out the group. Keren and Mestin could use a few subordinates..." Bramm began a fantasy-like shopping spree.

Keren was an excellent scout, and Bramm had, over the course of the last few days, decided to make him the head of intelligence and scouting, so a few subordinates would help him out immensely.

As for Mestin, the hulking giant will be the main attacking force of the group. He had the strength and power to deal a heck of a lot of damage.

"How great would it be if I could summon a large group of Mestin-sized warriors?" he chuckled to himself. "Such a force would give people quite a scare."

It has been 7 days since the builders arrived, and they had finally run out of supplies and needed to be escorted back, so Bramm and the others had once more given them a feast at night, and early morning, the group had set off towards the city.

Resven had been given his commands, and Bramm had no qualms that he would perform them to perfection. He, however, had his own things to do. Walking to the front of his cabin, he pulled up the system window.

[Unlock Veteran]

[Y/N]

’Yes,’ he called out mentally, his excitement bubbling.

[Congratulations on unlocking Veteran! Special reward unlocked]

[Hero Evolution Slots Unlocked]

’Hero Evolution? What the hell is that? So don’t tell me I have to pay even more for the summons now?! This bloodsucker!’

With a silent curse and hopeful prayer, he consulted the system in hopes of understanding what the new reward meant.

’It’s got to be a good reward! Please let it be a good thing, I don’t want to pay even more than I have to,’ he cried out as he waited on the system to answer.

[Special Reward: Hero Evolution Slots are very rare slots and rewards capable of evolving a normal warrior of any tier into a hero, which enables the warrior to enhance his strength to the next major tiers]

The system did not dally very long before it sent a note, and it was something that almost made Bramm jump up in celebration.

It had been over two weeks since he had first summoned Mestin and Resven, and over time, he had come to care for these four brothers of his; they were locked to the red tier. Which meant that he would be unable to bring them any further on his journey to becoming the strongest.

Now, however, although slim, he had the possibility to turn them into heroes capable of evolving. "Haha! Thank Ocen! Looks like the bloody lot of them will join me a while longer," he smiled and laughed in relief.

"Let’s save this until someone reaches the end of the Red tier. Mestin isn’t too far off reaching the limit. Maybe in a few days, I will be able to see him turn into a hero," daydreaming about his future, Bramm decided he would do his best to try and gather more hero evolution slots for the other guys.

’Well, since that is out of the way I guess we’ll take a cherry on top aye?’

[Summon Hero - Cost 1,000 Renown]

He pulled open the summoning panel and, with a thought, he summoned his first hero. The flickering light appeared behind the cabin for a few moments, and within seconds, the warrior appeared in front of Bramm, leaving him dumbstruck and wide-eyed.

’A woman?!’
