The Mafia King's Hacker Bride
Chapter 244: Three Days Until Auction
"Her name’s Layla," Azalea explained. "I trained her myself. She volunteered for the mission. She might not be a pro hacker, but she knows enough to disable basic security systems. Plus, she’s great at martial arts and can take care of herself."
Liam leaned forward in his seat. "Wait. You got Layla in there?"
Azalea glanced at him. "Do you know her?"
"I trained with her," Liam said. "Two years ago, before I came here. She was good, really good."
"She’s even better now," Azalea replied. "She knows what she’s doing and will help from the inside so the other girls are ready to move when we make our move."
Leo then spoke up, "How did you pull that off?"
"From my source," Azalea continued, "that brings me to my next thing."
She brought up another picture of a woman in her mid-thirties. She looked sharp and professional.
"This is Linda," Azalea said. "She’s Alpha’s assistant. She took over for Selina when Selina shifted to work more closely with Maksim."
Sarah leaned closer to get a better look. "So Linda is your source?"
"Yep," Azalea confirmed. "She’s been feeding me information for months. She let me know about the shipment, the auction, and what Alpha has in the works."
"Can we count on her?" Charles asked.
"About as much as we can count on anyone in Alpha’s crew," Azalea replied. "She has her own reasons for wanting him gone. Personal ones. And she’s been reliable so far."
Zayden was deep in thought. "So, Linda and Layla are working together from the inside."
"Exactly. And there’s one more thing," Azalea said, switching to another photo of an older guy with tough features. "This is Victor. He’s Linda’s dad and works for Maksim Karza."
Leo straightened up. "Wait—"
"Victor will make sure Selina stays safe," Azalea said, looking right at Leo. "If Maksim ever catches wind of what she’s up to, Victor will get her out. That’s his only job right now: to look out for Selina."
Leo’s face was hard to read.
Aylin chimed in, "So we’ve got people on the inside of both operations. Linda and Layla with Alpha, and Victor keeping an eye on Selina with Maksim."
"Exactly," Azalea agreed.
William shifted in his chair. "What else did Linda tell you?"
Azalea hesitated before responding, "Alpha wanted the full scoop on Zayn Virelli."
The vibe in the room changed instantly.
Zayden leaned forward. "Why?"
"Because Zayn is linked to Emma," Azalea explained. "And Emma is Alexander’s daughter. Alpha wants to know who might be getting close to his leverage."
William nodded slowly. "That makes sense. If Alpha loses control of Emma, he loses control of Alexander."
"What did Linda tell him?" Reyes asked.
"Everything," Azalea replied. "I told her to give Alpha exactly what he wanted: Zayn’s full background, his business, his family connections, all of it."
"Why?" Charles inquired.
"Because if Linda had refused or provided incomplete information, Alpha would have suspected her," Azalea explained. "It’s better to give him the truth and monitor how he uses it."
Aylin frowned. "Does Zayn know Alpha is looking into him?"
"That’s the problem," Azalea said. "Linda also informed me that Alpha sent Zayn a message from a burner phone. It was threatening."
Zayden froze. "What kind of message?"
Azalea pulled it up on the screen.
"Alexander Kane knows more than you think. And so do we. Watch your back, Virelli."
"When was it sent?" Zayden’s voice was tense.
"Last night, around the time Alexander was in the hospital. Zayn read it, but he did not reply."
"And he didn’t tell us," Liam noted.
"No," Azalea agreed. "He did not."
Sarah spoke from the screen. "That is concerning. If Alpha is targeting Zayn and Zayn is not communicating with us—"
"We need to talk to him," Azalea said, looking at Zayden. "He is our brother. We need to ensure he understands what he is walking into. That message was not a random threat; it was from Alpha Dark."
Zayden nodded. "I will handle it."
"When?" Azalea pressed.
"Today. As soon as this meeting is over."
Leo cleared his throat. "If Alpha is watching Zayn, he is also watching Emma, which means he is monitoring Alexander."
"Alexander is the weak link," Reyes remarked. "He collapsed last night from stress. He is breaking."
"Which gives us an opening," Charles added slowly. "A man who is breaking is a man who might turn."
William looked over at Zayden. "Are we really thinking about talking to Alexander?"
"We talked about it last night," Zayden said. "The idea. If Alexander truly cares for Emma, and based on what Zayn said from the hospital, he does, then we might be able to use that."
"Use it how?" Sarah asked.
"Give him a way out," Aylin said quietly. "Help us take down Alpha in exchange for keeping Emma’s adoption under wraps."
There was a moment of silence.
Finally, Charles chimed in. "That sounds risky. If Alexander goes for it, Alpha will find out right away. He keeps a close eye on him."
"Not if we play it smart," Liam replied. "We need to make it look like Alexander is still on Alpha’s side while he feeds us information."
"A double agent," Leo said. "Like Selina."
Everyone in the room caught the irony in that.
Reyes then jumped in. "Getting back to Zayn. If he got a threat from Alpha and didn’t say anything, that’s a problem. Either he doesn’t get how serious this is, or—"
"Or he’s trying to deal with it himself," Zayden finished. "Which is classic behavior for my brother."
Azalea crossed her arms. "Then you need to stop him. Before he does something stupid and gets Emma hurt."
"Right," Zayden said.
Sarah’s voice came through the speakers. "What’s our timeline? Three days until the auction. That means we have three days to get everything sorted out."
"We make our move on auction night," Zayden declared. "Aylin will hack into their systems and take down security. Leo and his crew will back us up tech-wise. Liam, Reyes, and Charles, you three will lead the team to get those girls out."
"And what about Alpha?" William asked.
