The Mafia King's Hacker Bride
Chapter 299: The Beginning Of Forever
But no one was really paying attention to the usual words.
Everyone watched Zayden and Aylin, two people who had been through a lot and still found each other.
The officiant went on with the ceremony, then paused.
"Zayden Cole Virelli, do you take Aylin Monroe Alston to be your wife?"
Zayden didn’t think twice. His voice was clear and strong.
"I do."
"And Aylin Monroe Alston, do you take Zayden Cole Virelli to be your husband?"
Aylin’s voice was steady and firm.
"I do."
The officiant smiled. "The couple has written their own vows."
Zayden turned to Aylin, took her hands in his, looked deeply into her eyes, and started.
"I’m not promising perfection here."
His voice was soft but powerful.
"I’m not saying it’ll be easy, because we both know that’s not how life works."
"But I promise I’ll be there for you. No matter what comes our way, no matter how tough things get."
He tightened his grip on her hands.
"I promise to stand with you. Not in front, not behind, but right beside you, as your equal, your partner, your safe place."
He lowered his voice to almost a whisper.
"Always."
Aylin swallowed hard, her eyes shining with emotion, but she smiled.
She took a deep breath and then said,
"You didn’t save me."
Zayden’s expression changed a bit.
"You stood by me... and that changed everything."
She continued, "I spent a long time running away, hiding, putting up walls, and keeping everyone out."
"But you never tried to knock those walls down. You just... waited until I was ready to let you in."
Tears started rolling down her cheeks, but she didn’t bother to wipe them away.
"I don’t need things to be perfect; I just need you."
"I promise to trust you, let you in, and not run when things get tough."
She let out a shaky breath, tears in her eyes.
"And I promise to love you every single day, even the rough ones. Especially the rough ones."
The wind gently swirled around them, and the ocean kept its calm beat.
The officiant chimed in, "The rings."
Zayn stepped up and handed Zayden a simple gold band. Ayla passed Aylin a matching one.
Zayden carefully slid the ring onto Aylin’s finger, as if it were the most important thing in the world.
Aylin did the same, her hands shaking a bit, but she didn’t hesitate.
The officiant smiled. "By the authority given to me by the State of New York, I now pronounce you husband and wife."
"You may kiss the bride."
Zayden didn’t hold back. He stepped in close, cupped her face, and when their lips met, it felt certain... not rushed or flashy.
The world seemed to take a breath again. Applause erupted... loud, genuine, and happy.
Isabella was full-on crying now, and Enzo ran out of tissues.
Emma wiped her own eyes.
Ella was jumping up and down, clapping with excitement. "They kissed! They’re married now!"
Sarah laughed and pulled her daughter in. "Yep, sweetheart. They are."
That Chapter of their lives was finally over.
And all that remained... was light.
*****
The reception was on the same beach, with tables set up under twinkling lights that gave off a soft glow as the sun went down.
Soft music played in the background, along with food, drinks, and lots of laughter. Everything felt light and carefree.
Leo was sitting at a table, sipping on a glass of whiskey and watching people dance.
Reyes was next to him. Azalea had pulled him onto the dance floor earlier, but he only made it through one song before he bailed. Now, he was trying to hide.
Leo smirked. "She’s definitely going to find you."
Reyes glanced at him. "Yeah, I know."
"And drag you back out there."
"Yep, I know."
"So why are you still sitting here?"
Reyes took a sip of his drink. "Just putting off the inevitable."
Leo actually laughed.
Reyes looked at him. "What’s so funny?"
"Nothing. Just—" Leo shook his head. "You’re whipped."
Reyes didn’t argue because it was true, and he was totally okay with it.
Across the reception, Azalea was chatting with Aylin. They were both laughing, and soon Ayla joined in. The three looked like they’d been tight for ages.
Isabella walked over to Enzo. He handed her a glass of wine, and she took it happily.
"My feet are killing me," she said.
Enzo smiled. "Then sit down. Chill out."
Isabella looked up at him. "You’re way too good to me."
Enzo kissed her on the top of her head. "I know."
She playfully swatted his arm but smiled back.
Zayden and Aylin moved through the crowd, saying hi to guests and thanking people, but they always stayed close, hands locked together.
Liam and Ayla were dancing badly, but neither of them cared one bit.
Ayla giggled as Liam spun her around. It was a bit too fast, and she nearly tripped, but he caught her just in time.
"Nice save," she said with a smile.
Liam shot her a grin. "I have my moments."
Charles was relaxing with Kade, both of them watching the younger crowd. They took in the laughter, dancing, and good vibes all around.
"We did well," Charles said quietly.
Kade nodded. "Yeah, we really did."
After a brief pause, Kade asked, "Think they’ll be alright?"
Charles looked at Zayden and Aylin, then at Zayn and Emma, and finally at the whole group.
The family they had built, the family they’d become.
"Yeah," Charles responded after a moment. "I think they’ll be just fine."
Ella ran over to Zayden and tugged on his jacket. He looked down and smiled at her.
"What’s up, princess?" he asked.
Ella grinned. "Can I dance with you?"
Aylin laughed. "Go for it. I’ll wait."
Zayden took Ella’s hand and led her to the dance floor. She stood on his shoes while he held her hands, and together they danced.
Ella giggled the whole time. Sarah was watching, tears filling her eyes as William wrapped his arm around her.
"She’s happy," he said quietly.
Sarah nodded. "She is. Finally."
After a moment, she added, "We all are."
*****
The sun had completely gone down, leaving the sky dark with stars starting to twinkle above.
Most of the guests were hanging out around the tables, where the lights were shining brighter.
But Zayden and Aylin had slipped away to the edge of the water, where it was peaceful, away from the crowd and all the noise. Just the two of them and the ocean.
Aylin took his hand, and he held it tightly and steadily.
"It’s so quiet," she said quietly.
Zayden looked out at the horizon, at the endless stretch of water and the stars beginning to reflect on it.
"It is," he replied.
After a little pause, she added, "I like it."
Another wave rolled in, followed by another.
For a long moment, they stood there in silence. They didn’t need to say anything. Behind them, life went on with laughter, movement, music, and chatter. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
But here... everything felt still.
After everything they had lost, everything they had faced, and everything they had gotten through, they were still standing, together.
Zayden glanced at Aylin, and she looked back at him. This time, there was nothing left to run away from.
No enemies chasing them, no secrets between them, and no walls keeping them apart. Just this, just them.
Aylin leaned her head against his shoulder. "Thanks," she said.
Zayden looked down at her. "For what?"
"For not giving up on me. For waiting. For being by my side."
He kissed the top of her head. "Always."
They stood there, watching the waves and listening to the ocean, feeling the peace they had fought so hard to find.
The Mafia King and his Hacker Bride, two broken people who found each other in the dark and chose light, love, and each other.
The waves rolled in as the sky deepened into night, stars appearing one by one.
For the first time in a long time, things felt right.
Aylin lifted her head and looked up at him. "So, what’s next?"
Zayden smiled, a genuine, relaxed smile. "Now? We live."
Aylin smiled back. "I like that plan."
He pulled her close and kissed her slowly and deeply... a promise, a fresh start.
When they pulled apart, Aylin rested her forehead against his. "I love you, Zayden Virelli."
"I love you too, Aylin Virelli," he answered.
She let out a soft, happy laugh. "That’s going to take a bit to get used to."
"You’ve got all the time you need."
"Good. I’m not going anywhere."
"Neither am I."
They stood together under the stars, by the ocean, two souls who had found their home in each other.
The battles were won. The enemies were gone. And what was left...
What remained was peace and the life they chose together.
The Mafia King had found his queen.
The Hacker had finally found her home.
And together, they chose forever.
