WHOOSH

Runark’s eyes widened as -o—o-o’s fist emerged in front of him in almost the blink of an eye. His reflexes kicked in, protecting him from the powerful attack, ducking to avoid what would have been a devastating blow.

WHOOSH!

The sheer force of the homarachnoid’s attack was so great that it created a shockwave of wind that shook the very world around them. Sternon, fighting right beside Runark, gritted his teeth, adapting his gene realm to produce greater firepower in his muscles to use against the homoarachnoid.

BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG!!!

The sheer power with which he struck the homaoarchnoid surprised the creature. -o—o-o was under the impression that Sternon was just like the younger pathwalkers around him, much weaker in raw power. However, while he was indeed young, he wasn’t weak.

He was a member of the generation of miracles of the Evolutionary Army. He was born from the seed of the most evolved and advanced hemosapien in history. His cells could change at a truly rapid pace, while his body could adaptively evolve to become anything within his reach. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢

And yet, he was no match for -o—o-o by himself.

BOOOOOOOOOM!!!

-o—o-o’s fist blasted into his abdomen faster than he could evade or defend, launching him away with the sheer force of the blow.

"Rgh!" Sternon grimaced in pain as the powerful impact launched him away.

-o—o-o rushed after him with its six insectile legs blurred with motion. He knew that Sternon was the strongest in the group, so he preferred to kill him right then and there so that he could deal with the other four.

And yet, Sternon was not fighting alone.

BOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

A beam of plasma blasted into the homoarachnoid before he could reach Sternon, intercepting his charge, forcing him to defend. In the distance, Misha sharpened her blood-red eyes with a severe glint to them as she watched -o—o-o emerge from the explosion, his silhouette smoking amid the dust and debris.

She couldn’t help but note that the creature had already begun spewing web all over its body immediately after the impact, something it hadn’t done in its battle against Ria the first time around.

’Is it that injured?’ she couldn’t help but wonder. ’If it needs to maintain a thick bandage of webs around its body, then that is something that we can exploit.’

Of course, it was easier said than done. The reality of the situation was that the homoarachnoid was barely pressured by the four pathwalkers. If not for the fact that it didn’t appear to be able to output the kind of power it had against Ria, they would all undoubtedly be dead.

And, given its power, she wasn’t entirely sure if they could make it.

STEP

The creature emerged from the crater created by Misha’s plasma attack, directing its six eyes towards her. She leaped away, detecting bloodlust from the creature. Yet, before -o—o-o could even charge towards her, a surge of trees and branches emerged from the ground around it, covering its entire body.

And then, it exploded.

BOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

In the distance, Siliscia gritted her teeth with effort as she tried to maximize the damage that she could inflict on the creature. The elves had developed many technological and tactical methods to overcome their shortcomings and weaknesses outside of their home turf. One of those solutions happened to be an energy-absorption system that could be carried and deployed remotely.

The idea was that if elves were fighting on a battlefield with other pathwalkers, then their attacks would undoubtedly be disseminated into the bedrock. Normally, it would turn into heat or be used to do seismic work. The elves realized that if that technology could be tapped into and harnessed in the middle of a distant battlefield, then one could find a way to generate limitless amounts of energy even if one wasn’t in an environment of nature.

Thus, much of the elven research and development in the past thirteen years had gone into creating flora technology that could be deployed far away, even in soils that were extremely inhospitable and barren.

The only caveat was that they took time to create, and it was why that attack was Siliscia’s second contribution to the battle, much to her own dismay.

And yet, it was far from enough.

CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK

"Annoying. Gnats," -o—o-o clicked in a growling manner. "I. Would. Be. Able. To. Crush. You. In. One. Second. If. I. Wasn’t. Injured. By. The. Red. Female."

None of them understood what his words meant, even as his six eyes shifted towards Siliscia, his stinger pointing at her in the blink of an eye to take her down then and there.

SPLAT SPLAT SPLAT!

Siliscia barely managed to defend herself with a layer of leaves and flesh that served as a false skin that allowed her to detach from the webbing even as it covered her. However, -o—o-o simply rushed forth, intercepting her as she exited her little cocoon of vegetation, swinging at her with a violently aggressive attack that threatened to kill her right then and there.

BOOOOOOOOOM!!!

Misha barely managed to blast the homoarachnoid with a beam of plasma, forcing him to defend. Meanwhile, Runark and Sternon rushed forth at high speeds, putting themselves between -o—o-o and Siliscia as they unleashed a flurry of attacks against the homoarachnoid with everything that they had.

BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG!

Runark’s attacks were short and swift, and they were concentrated. He knew that his attacks were too weak to inflict any real damage against the homoarachnoid on an individual basis, thus he needed to concentrated his attacks on one spot, a very common tactic among speedster Martial Artists.

Sternon used his cells as chippers to literally slice away at the creature’s outer webbing layer to reach its damaged and exposed flesh. The mastery of his cells had reached a stage where he could leverage them to inflict great damage against his opponent on a cellular level, something that was a very high and esteemed level of adaptive evolution mastery among evolutionaries.
