[Griffer’s talent cap is B+]

After learning Griffer’s talent cap, Ruvian couldn’t help but feel a little surprised. It was actually slightly higher than his own. After all, his talent cap was only B-.

’Interesting.’

Truthfully, Ruvian had no idea what the average talent cap for a Class E scholar was supposed to be. Then again, he wasn’t particularly familiar with the standards of the other classes either.

The only point of reference he had were the named Velthia characters from the original novel. Calyra, Rosalin, Julian, Silvena, and the others all possessed S-Rank talent caps.

That was all he knew.

Either way, Griffer had potential. Not enough to stand alongside the S-Rank talents from the novel, but enough to distinguish himself from the average scholar.

Unfortunately, a B+ talent cap wasn’t particularly attractive in Ruvian’s eyes. If he was going to spend time cultivating someone’s growth, there were far more rewarding investments available.

Still, a small push cost him nothing.

What Griffer chose to do afterward would be his own path to walk.

Ruvian inhaled slowly before finally answering.

"If you’re genuinely asking, then the answer is simple: train. Train more than you do now, and keep training after everyone else has stopped. Though I doubt that’s anything you haven’t already heard before."

He paused for a moment.

"Still, there are ways to accelerate your growth."

Griffer remained lying on the stage with an arm covering his eyes, but Ruvian could tell he was listening closely.

"I heard some things about the Vazrun Island Test from the seniors. The academy usually places several artificial dungeons across the island. If you get the chance, try convincing your squad leader to take on one of them." (+200PP)

Ruvian rested the training sword against his shoulder.

"The risks are higher, but so are the rewards. The academy often provides consumables and resources to teams that clear them. For first-years, those rewards can make a significant difference."

Truthfully, there was more to it than that.

According to the novel, one of those dungeons contained a reward capable of improving a person’s potential. The details had never been fully explained. The novel had only mentioned that Zian felt a noticeable change within his body after obtaining it.

Ruvian wasn’t entirely certain if that change was truly related to potential, but the possibility certainly existed.

Of course, if the reward really did increase talent, then it would have been completely wasted on someone like Zian. The protagonist had already possessed SS-Rank potential from the very beginning.

There was nowhere higher for him to go.

Perhaps that was why the reward had manifested as an increase in his current strength instead.

At least, that was his theory.

Then, after a brief pause, he added,

"And try to kill as many Voidspawns as you can while you’re on the island. Real combat is one of the fastest ways to grow. You’ll gain experience and improve your Spellcore along the way." (+200PP)

With that said, Ruvian stepped down from the stage. As he began walking toward the exit, he spoke one last time without looking back.

"Let’s have another spar after the island test, Griffer." (+200PP)

*****

After having breakfast and taking a shower, Ruvian spent the rest of his morning with Calyra inside the secluded library dimension.

The two stood side by side near the edge of the white gazebo, their shoulders separated by only a short distance.

A shallow river flowed gently around the structure, its crystal-clear water brushing against their ankles as it continued its endless journey. Countless fragments of sunlight danced across the surface, reflecting like liquid gold.

The two of them almost seemed like figures beautifully painted on a canvas. Ruvian’s dark hair swayed gently beneath the warm breeze. While standing before him, Calyra’s long white hair shimmered softly beneath the morning sun of the realm, fluttering lightly with each passing gust.

Calyra slowly lifted her gaze toward him.

"You ready?" she asked softly.

Ruvian calmly nodded.

"Yeah," he replied. "Go."

Today, they continued their spell training drills as usual. However, this time, Ruvian intended to experiment with something new.

Calyra softly activated her spell.

[Invisible]

The moment the spell was cast, her figure immediately began fading away little by little. First, her white hair disappeared, followed by the rest of her body until nothing of her remained visible anymore.

Soon, there was no longer anyone standing before Ruvian.

However, even if her body had completely vanished from sight, the shallow river around her feet still revealed her location. The flowing water continuously split apart around an invisible figure, clearly showing that Calyra was still standing right there despite being impossible to see.

Ruvian quietly observed the scene for a moment before slowly raising one of his hands toward her direction.

Then, he closed his eyes.

A faint pressure quietly spread from his body.

Soon after, he silently invoked—

[True Authority]

Then, Calyra’s invisibility spell suddenly fluctuated. (+500PP)

Her invisible figure began flickering irregularly. At certain moments, parts of her body briefly became visible again for less than a second before disappearing once more.

Her white hair, pale skin, and outline continuously appeared and vanished repeatedly like an unstable illusion struggling to maintain itself properly.

But even so, Ruvian still could not completely break through the spell.

A few moments later, he finally lowered his hand before letting out a tired sigh. His breathing had also become slightly heavier than before.

"Damn it," he muttered while lightly panting.

"This is way harder than I thought."

Not long after that, Calyra finally cancelled her spell.

Her invisible body gradually reappeared, standing calmly before him within the shallow river.

"What was that?" she asked while looking at him with slight confusion and curiosity in her eyes. (+250PP)

Ruvian lightly exhaled before answering.

"One of the spells I developed myself," he said.

Then, after a brief pause, he lightly shook his head.

"Ah, well... calling it my own spell is a bit exaggerated. And honestly, kind of a lie too. It was a spell that was inspired by someone."

He looked toward Calyra again.

"Anyway, your natural mana configuration layer is ridiculously hard to break through."

Calyra tilted her slightly.

"Of course, normally, every person naturally has a defensive mana structure around their body. If someone tries to directly cast a spell on them, they first need to surpass the target’s mana configuration complexity before the spell can properly interfere."

Ruvian simply nodded to her explanation.

"Yeah, as I said, your layer is absurdly thick." (+100PP)

Calyra quietly stared at him for a few seconds.

Then, without saying anything immediately, she slowly walked closer toward him through the shallow river. Small splashes of water echoed softly as she took some steps.

Her blue eyes remained fixed on him the entire time.

"Ruvian, teach me that spell," she said softly in her usual aloof tone. (+300PP)

Strangely enough, Ruvian suddenly felt like there were shining stars inside her eyes at that moment. He could clearly feel her interest and curiosity overflowing beneath that calm expression of hers.

Ruvian lightly smiled after seeing that reaction.

"Yeah, sure," he replied. "But in exchange... let me continue practicing breaking apart your invisibility spell first."

The moment he said that, Calyra immediately nodded her head.

"Mhm. Sure."

Her response came unusually fast.

And so, the two of them began practicing once more.

Ruvian had decided to master [True Authority] before the Vazrun Island Test if possible.

No.

He had to.

The more he experimented with the spell, the more convinced he became that there was something far deeper hidden behind that spell.

Because if he could fully understand and control the spell properly, then eventually, it would lead him closer toward understanding...
