But just before we could continue our sparring, I paused and looked up in the sky.

Stopping in her tracks, Alleus tilted her head.

"What is it Ring?" Alleus sheathed her cusped falchion back in her scabbard.

The window screen in the sky wrote:

"There’s going to be a battle tomorrow but it doesn’t say what’s it’s going to be against." I replied to Alleus, "It could be a demon invasion or just a friendly spar."

"Then we should brush up on our skills beforehand then." Alleus pointed her sword at me while it’s still in it’s scabbard.

"Ha, I suppose so." Sheathing the fire hero’s sword, I lowered into a fighting stance.

Lunging forward, our swords clashed against each other in multiple repetitions.

Stepping back, dodging a slash to my face, I regained my breath.

Thrusting my hand downwards, the dragon scales tackled Alleus with a shower of attacks.

With her left eye twitching, she dodged and parried simultaneously.

While she was distracted, I sneaked up around her and slammed my sheathed blade at her back.

Torquing her body, she dodged by doing a splits.

She’s so flexable.

Suddenly, an aching pain resonated on the side of my abdomen.

"Argh!." I groaned, wincing.

She had managed to counterattack me despite being in a weird position.

Throwing the sheathed fire hero’s sword at her face, I leapt in front of her.

Catching the sword, Alleus’ blocked my jumping kick at her chest with a sweeping block, pushing away to the side.

Damn, she’s improved her future sight on erratic objects.

"I’m not the same person who I was a few months ago idiot... if you really want to defeat me then you’ll just have to grow stronger!" Alleus scoffed.

Regaining my footing, I picked up my sword, before unleashing a barrage of relentless attacks.

"Scales, support my attacks!" Waving around, the dragon scales would act like afterimages and strike once more after I’ve already struck.

Alleus was slowly being pushed back as I took a step with every attack.

"Scales, scatter and attack in a variety of directions!" Dispersing, the scales flew around us, taking the opportunity to attack whenever there was a given chance.

"Best to give up now Alleus, your eye can’t possibly keep up!" I scoffed, in a mocking tone.

"Are you sure about that..?" Alleus then drew out a cold breath, and began dodging the attacks with weird unnatural movements.

Damn it, how could I forget! She has that evasion skilled of hers.

Wincing, I slashed downwards.

"Scales, restrict her!" The scales then flew towards Alleus, but she had disappeared when I blinked my eyes.

But Alleus has already used this tactic twice on me, and If I fall for it for the third time then I really am a fool!

Pointing my body upwards, I slashed my sword but no one was in the sky.

"Didn’t master Index say to not slash downwards, he would be really disappointing in you." Said Alleus behind me.

Shit.

As I turned towards her to attack, she had already struck me multiple times.

Catching me from falling to my knees, Alleus chuckled.

Spitting something out of my mouth, I stood myself up.

"Sorry for going overboard, I thought you were going to dodge it somehow."

"Don’t act so smug, you grabbed a scale and stuffed it into mouth so that I wouldn’t be able to command them."

***

Waking up in the morning, I strained my body after our battle.

"Urgh..." Standing up, I walked outside the tent.

The sun was beating on my face.

I had sent out a dragon scale of my own to blend in with the one that belongs to Incus, so the dragon scales would wake me up whenever Incus made a move.

"Guys wake up." I clapped my hands, "The knights are packing away the tents, so let’s hurry up and do the same."

Since it’s still morning, the battle that Incus participates in should be later... so we’ve still got a bit of time left.

Flailing around, Vertere groaned tiredly.

"Just five more minutes, and why do we have to do it... the knights are doing it anyways." Said Vertere.

Kicking him, I snared.

"Quit being such a lazy bum and get to working." I continued on kicking him.

Standing up, his hair stood up in a messy manner.

"Fine, stop kicking me..!" Vertere stood up.

"Shhh, you’ll wake up Ita..!" Alleus, carried Ita who was drooling, out of the tent. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

Pulling out the stakes and sticks that held the tent together, I folded the tent’s drape.

Suddenly, my eyes widened and my hair strands stood up.

A loud thud erupted behind me.

’Get out of the way now!’ The force armor shouted at me.

The sky exploded in the color of crimson red.

"Demon raid, everyone look for the nearest knight and head for the kingdom gates!" A knight shouted, running around warning everyone.

Turning around, I blocked a punch but was sent skidding back a few meters away, my feet nearly leaving the ground.

"Wake up Ita, get her out of here!" I shouted, my tone full of haste.

The dragon scales that I’ve transferred to Ita hung its self around both her and Alleus.

But that still doesn’t resolve the issue that there are multiple demons, she’ll need someone to support her from the back.

Vertere had already summoned spikes of ice and shot them out at the monsterious demons.

Glancing behind me, had wrapped herself in the dragon scales armor and began rushing to eliminate as much of the demons as possible, the lightning and wind hero’s sword boosted her speed.

"Scales, strengthen me." Wrapping around my body, the dragon scales gave me a surge of strength throughout my body.
