Chapter 793 - New Self-Detonation Tactic

The Origin of Mutation followed Han Wu out to the divine war. The bodies of various units lay scattered everywhere, a sight that thrilled the Origin of Mutation. Test subjects as far as the eye could see! This was a blissful feeling.

Ideas were already developing inside its head. It decisively shifted into its fully tentacled form and plunged into the action, not to kill anyone, but to harvest limbs and organs from fallen enemy units, storing them in its material bank for future research.

Han Wu held the bottle and asked the Origin of Mutation from a distance how to use it.

“First, dilute the concentrated spinal fluid in water at the correct ratio, mix it thoroughly, and have the Bomber Locusts drink it,” instructed the Origin of Mutation.

Han Wu did as it said, and soon, 300,000 Bomber Locusts were consuming the concoction. The Origin of Mutation then told Han Wu to have them fly into the airspace above the enemy faction, spaced out evenly.

300,000 locusts were still manageable. There was one every hundred meters, arranged into a grid above the Slaughter Faction’s territory. Once everything was in position, a special mouth appeared on the Origin of Mutation’s body, and it let out a thunderous roar in the direction of the Bomber Locusts. The strange, authoritative sound carried far across the sky.

Han Wu watched in shock as golden lightning descended and the Bomber Locusts transformed. Their bodies swelled a thousandfold, each becoming a giant locust. The abrupt change damaged their brain cells, causing them to lose all higher functions and begin dropping toward the ground.

The Slaughter Faction had anti-air equipment below as expected. Arrows, elemental cannons, and bullets fired upwards in a dense barrage.

“Give the order. Make them detonate themselves,” the Origin of Mutation instructed.

Han Wu issued the command, and all 300,000 locusts exploded. Their increased size meant their explosive force surpassed their original by tens of thousands of times [1].

It was like 300,000 missiles detonating simultaneously in a tightly packed chain. Every unit in the blast zone, regardless of strength, was obliterated in an instant. The ground itself melted into lava, continuing to radiate intense heat that would not fade for some time.

Han Wu stared at the dead zone left in the blast radius. All it had cost him was 300,000 Bomber Locusts and one bottle of concentrated spinal fluid. Meanwhile, the Slaughter Faction had lost at least 30 million units with twenty to thirty buffs each.

The Origin of Mutation’s earlier warnings made sense now. The efficient brutality of a weapon like this would frighten even his own allies.

Sure enough, back in the Wisdom Faction’s command room, Xu Hai felt the hair on his scalp rise as he watched the 300,000 transformed locusts detonate. Just 300,000 Bomber Locusts had produced an explosion of that scale.

Han Wu had at least 30 billion Bomber Locusts. If all 30 billion were used this way, the entire battlefield would be reduced to dust.

Unease stirred within Xu Hai. He couldn’t help but wonder if this would draw condemnation from other Divine Civilization players and factions. A weapon this extreme was practically unfair.

The Banquet God King, Wang Fugui of the Wealth Faction, gave him his perspective. Han Wu’s new tactic would undoubtedly be condemned and perhaps even be banned for use in Divine Civilization warfare. However, that was the future.

There were no restrictions on it yet, so the best thing they could do was take advantage of it while they could. They could worry about the rest after destroying the Slaughter Faction[2].

Even if it was banned within the Divine Civilization itself, as a civilization, they often waged war against other civilizations outside. The worst-case scenario was to have this technology packaged and sold commercially.

There would always be buyers. The ethics of its usage would have to be shouldered by its users. That had nothing to do with whoever manufactured and sold the product.

Wang Fugui’s reasoning persuaded Xu Hai. War was fundamentally about whose bottom line was lower. A good-natured soul like him who worried about breaking the natural order would be better off teaching students for the rest of his career. Before that, though, this divine war needed to be won.

The Slaughter Faction similarly watched as Han Wu wiped out 30 million of their units with 300,000 Bomber Locusts. The Butcher leaped to his feet.

The tactic was creative, and its killing efficiency was extraordinary. If he had this technology, he was confident he could surpass the God King of Death and become the top God King in the Divine Civilization within the next ten years.

Unfortunately, this technology belonged to the enemy faction. Han Wu’s relationship with Xu Hai as mentor and student was too solid to break with threats or bribes.

“Han Wu is talented, and I respect that. It’s just a shame he insists on standing in my way. He needs to be removed,” the Slaughter God King said gravely.

Everyone in the command room agreed. Thirty million units was a loss they could still absorb, but this spelled trouble for the future. They had no way of knowing how many times he could use this technology and to what level.

If Han Wu could deploy this on a larger scale, their faction’s destruction was imminent. Eliminating Han Wu had suddenly become their highest priority.

“Slaughter God King, should we deploy our anti-World equipment stockpile?”

“If we do, the Wisdom Faction will be able to get a counter ready... but exposing those assets early might be worth it if it means taking out Han Wu.”

The Slaughter God King shook his head at the suggestion. Instead, he turned and clapped his hands.

A person walked into the room. It was Huang Shengjun, the student expelled from Imperial College in the past!

The aura radiating from him was completely different from before. He raised his head and opened his eyes. Nine miniature evil eyes stared out from within his pupils. Everyone in the room flinched at the sight. That was the mark of the Nine-Eyed Evil God.

“Sir. Your student requests permission to fight Han Wu,” Huang Shengjun said. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

The Slaughter God King nodded. “Go. Kill him. Wash away the humiliation he gave you.”

Huang Shengjun turned to leave.

The representatives in the command room broke into soft murmurs after his departure. They had some knowledge of Huang Shengjun’s background, but they couldn’t help but wonder if he was a match for Han Wu in this state. After all, he had already lost to Han Wu once before.

The Slaughter God King smiled coldly and assured them that everything was under control.
