The Outdoor Dining Hall of Mystic Mountain

The Azure Dragon led them along a winding stone path through Mystic Mountain.

Even the path appeared to breathe. At every step, it exhaled composure and grace. However, beneath the serenity, something restless lingered: a sharp rustle in the bamboo, shadows slipping out of sight, murmurs faintly audible. The mountain's peace felt real, but as if guarding something, waiting.

Smooth jade stones paved the path — sun-warmed, yet fresh beneath. They beckoned onward. Ancient bamboo groves swayed in the breeze, their leaves humming secrets just like distant voices.

As they walked on, the path lay out before them, disclosing a vista so breathtaking it appeared to halt the world.

The dining hall waited atop a terrace carved from the mountain. No walls enclosed it. Only slender pillars rose beneath a pavilion roof that soared upward like the wings of a great bird. Pale tiles shimmered underfoot, as if brushed with moonlight.

Beyond the terrace, the world opened wide.

A magnificent waterfall flowed down the mountain cliff.

It plunged from high above — a silver ribbon streaming into a crystal lake below. Where water met water, mist blossomed within swirling veils. Pale clouds drifted upward, carrying the fragrance of rain and ancient stone.

Sunlight shone through the falling water, scattering rainbows through the mist.

The serenity seemed nearly unreal, as though the mountain itself kept its breath, waiting for the next moment to unfold.

Yet the beauty simply intensified.

Around the terrace, flowers flourished — luminous and ethereal, unlike any bloom found in the mortal world.

Tall blossoms with crystalline petals swayed within the gentle breeze. At their centers, a bright golden glow radiated. Each flower seemed to cradle a lantern within its petals.

Clusters of bell-shaped flowers chimed with delicate notes whenever the gust stirred them.

And among the blossoms,

Tiny winged spirits skipped from petal to petal.

At first glance, they might be mistaken for butterflies, their delicate wings flashing in the sunlight.

But a closer look revealed something much more wondrous.

They were tiny, fairy-like beings, no larger than a thumb.

Their wings shimmered like stained glass. Their dresses looked as if spun from the petals themselves.

They snickered as they whirled through the air, leaving soft trails of glowing pollen in their wake.

These were 'Tinkerbell Blossoms,' so pure that nature spirits were born from their nectar. Watch closely, and you might spot a fairy twirling on a petal, sprinkling sparkling dew below. The fairies wove garlands from webs and pollen. They wore these as crowns while playing hide-and-go-seek.

The little spirits glided among the blooms, pausing midair to peer curiously at the newcomers before vanishing in a blur of glittering wings.

Brilliant birds filled the garden. Their feathers were brilliant splashes of color by the sea of green, each one painting the scene anew.

Long-tailed jade birds perched on flowering branches, their melodic songs weaving with the waterfall's sound. Some shimmered bearing hues of blue and violet — living jewels scattered within the leaves.

Some wore delicate crests that glowed softly as they sang.

This was a dining hall in name alone,

and more truly a bright work of art, as if heaven itself had painted it into being.

First Time Visitors

Lily, Ren, the twins, and Sisu all stopped walking at the same time.

Their eyes grew full of astonishment; wonder seemed to bloom on each face.

For an instant, silence held them.

It was their first true glance into the heart of Mystic Mountain. Lily, thoughtful and smiling, stood next to Ren. Ren's sharp eyes missed nothing; her keenness always pulled her forth. Ren usually took the lead, her decisions often guiding the group. Lily tempered her boldness with gentle reasoning. The twins — Kim Kim, bubbling with excitement, and Chin Chin, striding with confidence — stood arm in arm on their shoulders. They acted like their own unspoken team, sometimes competing playfully for attention but always acting in unison when it mattered. Sisu waited a step behind, shy yet overflowing with amazement, looking to the others for cues before taking a step forward.

"This… this place is beautiful," Lily breathed.

Ren nodded, her usual composure melting into gentle awe.

Sisu clasped his hands, eyes beaming as if he had found himself in a dream.

"This is just like from a fairy tale…" he spoke quietly.

The twins, however—

The twins shot forward, their feet almost skimming the stones as they raced ahead.

"Look! Look at this one!"

"Ah! That flower is glowing!"

"Is that a tiny person?!"

Kim Kim and Chin Chin raced for the garden beds, their curiosity obvious in every eager step.

Ren and Lily shared a glance,

Then—

Without much hesitation—

They hurried after the twins, steps hastening as they threaded around flowerbeds, drawn irresistibly toward the garden's wonders.

Even they could not resist the pull of wonder that saturated the air.

Sisu followed them, skipping and laughing, his usual composure turning into delight as he caught up.

"Wait for me!"

His giggle rang out, silver bells in the morning air—a bright, joyful sound which lingered.

Mushu exhaled and set off after them, eyes vigilant as he scanned the garden for any trace of danger.

"Slow down," he called gently. "Don't wander too far."

Xiao Chi the Guide

Just then—

A flash of scarlet hair darted ahead.

Xiao Chi chased the twins, her red hair streaming behind like a banner.

"Wait! Wait! I will show you!"

She puffed out her chest, pride twinkling in her eyes as she took on the role of host.

"That one is a Moon Petal Flower," she said, pointing to a tall silver blossom whose petals shimmered like frost.

"And that one is a Wind Bell Lily! When the wind blows, it sings!"

She bounded ahead to another cluster of flowers.

"And these ones are Tinkerbell Blossoms! The tiny fairies live there!"

The twins stared, eyes wide, as a tiny, glowing fairy emerged from a blossom and hovered before them, curious and shining.

"Hello!" Chin Chin said excitedly.

The fairy giggled before darting away into the flowers again.

Kim Kim crouched low, peering intently at another glowing blossom.

"This mountain is amazing," she breathed, awe softening her speech.

Xiao Chi nodded, her cheerfulness as bright as the flowers around her.

"It is my home!"

She led them onward, pointing out every plant and bird with zeal that appeared to sparkle in the air.
