Chapter 424: The Collective Soul

However, Moku saw Gupita’s discovery as a foundation. If the soul of a single user was not strong enough to defy the Will of Mana, what if they used the collective soul of every monster in the Wilwatikta Kingdom?

When Moku created the Pandava, he linked the souls of every monster in his realm. Using a concept similar to Nerphyl’s Eyes of Queen, Moku bolstered the soul of the Pringgadini user. The other monsters felt no side effects, as the spiritual burden drawn from each was infinitesimal. With the ability to manipulate Mana backed by the collective soul of the Pandava, a Pringgadini user could now control Mana across a vast radius.

There was only one condition: only a Valkyrie who had reached Level 5 Constellation Mage could withstand the collective weight of the Pandava while performing Mana manipulation of such complexity. With this achievement, the Valkyries no longer had to tremble when facing a Domain-user mage.

"AAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!"

A transparent blue dome erupted from Artur’s body. The grey air around him shifted drastically; the drifting ash and the very molecules of the air hummed, transforming into currents of electricity. Inside that blue dome, the laws of the world were being rewritten.

The air molecules, now turned to lightning, flowed violently toward Artur, wrapping around his frame. The current coalesced into a gargantuan blue silhouette that towered into the sky—complete with rows of serrated teeth, a pair of horns, expansive wings, and a body clad in impenetrable scales.

"[2nd God’s Form: Lightning Dragon]!"

Artur knew he could not win a direct struggle of Domains against Nevare. When two Domain-users clash, the stronger Domain inevitably swallows and erases the other. However, there was another way to utilize a Domain: by concentrating its Mana to an extreme degree within the body, forced into a new evolution that surpassed normal limits. This was the trump card Artur played now.

"Do you still not realize your own limitations?"

Nevare’s voice was frigid. Her body glowed brighter as currents of electricity flooded every cell. The grey clouds blanketing Heles suddenly churned, splitting apart to make way for a judgment from the heavens.

CRACK-BOOM!

The air around Nevare ignited. The lightning armor that previously only shielded her chest spread wildly, encasing her entire body in a full set of combat plate. Two blue wings made of pure energy unfurled from her back, so wide they blotted out Artur’s entire field of vision. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

Her long silver hair billowed upward, defying gravity. The ground beneath her turned white, scorched by temperatures capable of melting steel. The massive blue aura lifted Nevare inches off the ground—like a haughty goddess descending from the heavens, refusing to be touched by the filth of the earth.

With a lethal, drawing motion, Nevare pulled a mystical greatsword from her own chest. The giant blade, taller than her own body, was wreathed in feral lightning, turning the air into a frozen vacuum of tension.

"[2nd God’s Form: The Armor of Zeus]!"

Unfortunately for Artur, Nevare had also mastered the technique of Domain compression. If Artur had summoned a Lightning Dragon, then Nevare’s Indra form had transformed to mimic the ruler of the Western Skies: Zeus. Though Nevare only held a contract with Indra—and a god like Zeus was far too arrogant to lend his power to "insects"—Nevare was still capable of manifesting equivalent power by mimicking the absolute nature of the Thunder God.

Her hazel eyes, usually shimmering with a soft light, now burned with a sharp, piercing blue. Electricity arced from her gaze as she stared down Artur’s dragon form with absolute menace, making every hair on the youth’s neck stand on end.

"Last warning, Boy! Fight me with everything you have!"

A thick, suffocating killing intent overflowed from every syllable Nevare uttered. She truly intended to end him, but her brother’s delusion sickened her heart. It felt like being forced to duel a swordsman who marched forward with nothing but a brittle twig and a body covered in filth; though she could kill him with a single swing, such resistance was a supreme insult.

"Hah... hah... hah... AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!"

The Lightning Dragon roared, splitting the sky and purging every ounce of fear, anxiety, and cowardice from Artur’s chest. Its wings beat powerfully; its claws unfurled, ready to rend. Its eyes locked onto Nevare with pure, unadulterated hatred. There were no more detours—only a straight path to the destruction of his enemy.

"Very well then! I shall bury you along with your delusions!" Seeing the iron resolve finally ignite in Artur’s eyes, Nevare extinguished the last embers of mercy in her heart.

"NEVARE!!!!!!!!" Artur surged forward like a blue comet.

"DIE, BOY!!!!!" Nevare plunged downward to meet him.

The jaw of the gargantuan dragon silhouette unhinged, vacuuming the surrounding mana until it condensed into a violently crackling sphere of blue lightning. With a deafening boom, the energy orb was spat toward Nevare at the speed of light.

Instead of evading, Nevare opened both palms. She caught the impact of the lightning bolt with her bare hands. The momentum was so immense it drove her backward through the air, yet her grip remained unshakable. With a spin of her body—graceful yet lethal—she hurled the sphere of destruction back at Artur.

Artur roared, swinging his dragon claws to swat the orb aside. A cataclysmic explosion was inevitable; blue lightning danced wildly, incinerating the very oxygen in the air.

When Artur redirected his gaze, Nevare was gone. His instincts shrieked a fraction of a second before a lightning spear slammed into his back from a blind spot.

Artur’s dragon silhouette flickered and dimmed from the blast. He went into a freefall, his consciousness nearly slipping away. Yet, on the brink of blackout, his eyes ignited once more. With the last of his strength, he slashed his artifact blade through the empty air. Instantly, the fabric of space split like torn cloth. Artur allowed his body to be swallowed into the dimensional rift just before the space sealed shut.
