The silence inside the arena only lasted for a bit as the entire arena exploded into chaos. ๐’ป๐‘Ÿโ„ฏโ„ฏ๐‘ค๐‘’๐‘๐‘›๐˜ฐ๐“‹๐‘’๐“.๐’ธ๐‘œ๐˜ฎ

"What the hell was that?"

"Did you see him move?"

"No, only his shadow moves."

"What kind of skill was that?"

"The monkโ€™s dead!"

Many players rushed to the edge of the railing while the gamblers screamed at the booth.

A few demanded refunds not believing they even lost the safe money. Others also started southing how the machine was rigged from the start.

In all this, the devil spawn already walked into the tunnel connecting to the arena entrance.

The referee finally snapped out of his and rushed in to check the collapsed old monk.

"Heโ€™s alive!" the referee shouted.

That only made the crowd louder.

Clinch clicked his tongue. "Why didnโ€™t you tell me about your friend? We could have won big here."

Adder just stared at the barely alive monk.

The monkโ€™s body was twitching unnaturally. Even from a distance he noticed the thin black veins crawling all over his body before fading away.

He instantly remembered the scene from the cave.

Corruption!

This reminded him of his own hand. He checked it only to see the mark after using the crimson vial had already disappeared.

โ€™Is it related to his using the crimson vile?โ€™ Adder clicked his tongue.

This was the first time he had seen a skill that could corrupt someone without even infecting a single wound. Heck, even the old witch required an entire ritual and sacrificed a body part.

There had to be something special about that shadow movement.

He rubbed his chin and mumbled. "Interesting..."

Clinch looked at him strangely. "Interesting? Brother, that monster just folded a level thirty fighter without touching him."

Adder ignored him and turned toward the gambling booth.

There, Saitness had already made a big deal about how lucky she was.

She had already started to push past the arguing gamblers and headed after her partner, all while cursing at the crowd blocking her path.

That made Adder pause.โ€™Theyโ€™re leaving?โ€™

That was unexpected.

If those two were here casually, then fine. But if they came for a specific purpose...

His gaze slowly drifted upward toward the quieter upper section of the arena.

Several figures in clothes were already standing up from their seats.

Unlike the drunken gamblers below, these people wore luxury from head to toe. Multiple guild players surround these nobles with different guild emblems on them.

Even from afar, it was clear how excited they were about the demon spawn.

Many of them shouted at the guild players while pointing at them.

Adder turned back to the arena as another match had already begun, with most still discussing the previous one.

โ€™Donโ€™t tell me reaching those nobles was their goal. Has something like that happened in the past?โ€™ He rubbed his head, also not sure about all this incident.

Clinch clicked his tongue. "Looks like the upper dogs already got interested."

Adder suddenly turned to Clinch. "Hey, do you want to earn big?"

Clinch raised his eyebrow. "Whoa, what got into you?"

Adder just pointed to nobles. "Donโ€™t you think those guys were interested in my friend?"

Clinch blinked at him. "So you really do know him?"

Adder shrugged his shoulders and pointed 2 fingers. "I want 2 gold, the rest you can keep. "

Clinch almost laughed. "Dude, who do you think would pay so much?"

Adder just pointed at the Saintness. "Do you see that girl?"

Clinch clicked his tongue. "Yeah, it was not that hard to tell that she was with him. If this was-"

Adder cut him. "She reset with the saintness class."

Clinch froze halfway and then shook his head. "Do you seriously want me to believe that? Man, I have been in the game for more than a year now."

Adder simply shrugged his shoulders. "Well, in that case. Can you explain how a player who just joined a day ago gets that type of skill?"

"One day." Clinch stared wide at him, but then frowned. "Dude, that thing looked nothing like any holy spell. If anything, I feel it should be related to poison."

Adder stared at him. "I never said that guy has anything to do with holy class."

Clinch scratched his head. "Wait, itโ€™s what you said it right then, did you mean that guy had a far more powerful class than the girl?"

He just smiled at him. "Well look at you all excited."

Clinch looked around and then dragged him to an empty corner. "Dude, is this really real? If it is, forget 2 those guilds would pay us more than 20 gold. But you have to proof-"

Clinch froze half as suddenly color drained from his face. He stared at Adder as if looking for some answers.

Adder just nodded to him. "There had to be some unknown backer."

Clinch sucked in deep breath and shook. "Man, itโ€™s too messy. Not worth the risk."

Adder nodded as understanding but mumbled in low tone. "Donโ€™t you want to know what someone like them is doing here?"

Clinch suddenly asked him. "Dude why the hell are you telling me all that stuff?"

Adder stared at the next ongoing fight and said in a calm town. "Let me tell you about one of my friends. He has been playing the game for a year now but is still in the first village."

"He is so talented that he could predict the outcome of fight but still refuse to move to next city."

Clinch scratched his cheek trying to explain himself. "Oh that..."

Adder stared back at him. "You know whatโ€™s more strange. Like out of all the people my friend targeted me, a player who was still in his beginner clothes."

Clinch groaned. "Fck, donโ€™t tell me you also reset."

Adder shrugged his shoulders and instead asked, "So what guild you work under?"

Clinch sighed and shook his head. "Not the big one. Just a small one that me and my brother run. We supply talented fighters to the arena. "

โ€™A slave guide.โ€™ Adder raised his eyebrows. He never expected to meet a guy linked to the white bone guild.

But he did asked future as there was a possibility that he might not be linked at all.

Also it was forbidden to mention cafes within the game. This was something known from his past life.

He shifted back the topic. "Well what did you decide?"

Clinch shook his head. "Nah man itโ€™s too risky?"

Adder nodded to him. "Yeah and make sure the guilds know about those two. I donโ€™t know about that guy class but it should be related to demons."

Clinch stared at him. "Dude, I am serious here. Its too risky."

Adder learned toward him. "Why its risky when all the top guilds are going to learn about them?"

This time Clinch squinted at him. "What do you mean?"

Adder said with a smile. "A say you should chek what happened to hte black

Only the constant tapping was audible in the silent classroom.

Xane just tapped on the bench.

Inside his head, Zayn had already stopped thinking about all the possible teammates and just stared at the empty seats around him.

Even though there was no one present in the class, he still focused on the center seat where Liam and his team members sat.

After a long time, he sighed. [Dude, if it were only Liam, then maybe it might be possible, but with the addition of Samule, there is no way for us to compete with them.]

Xane nodded his head. <What about the second slot?>

He was not brain-dead. When he heard about the top team and the 5 classes, he had his suspicions. But now he was sure that the 10-team slot was just an illusion. In reality, there were just 2 slots for each class.

Zayn smiled. [Well, if it were just the second slot, then I do have a few possible candidates in my mind. Itโ€™s just that this entire team would only be possible if we manage to bring in both the death villains.]

Xane raised his eyes. <Death villains? You mean deadly villains.>

Zayn mentally shook. [Ah, well, they sure are deadly, but I am not talking about their strength, but the enmity they carry.]

Xane rubbed his chin. <Interesting, so who wants them dead?>

Zayn took his time as he was still not sure if he should involve them. But as the saying goes, beggars canโ€™t be choosers.

He knew without them, the chance of success would drop by 50 percent. He suppressed his urge and decided to leave the decision to Xane. [The first guy is wanted by one of the leading organizations, the Ashen Pact.]

The moment Xane heard that, he instantly thought of Uzino.

Zayn did not say the name, just continued. [Getting involved with that guy would lead to enmity with that big organization.]

Xane understood the danger of this hot potato, but he asked. <What about his strength?>

Zayn paused for a bit, then said, [During the first year, he could compete against Liam.]

Xaneโ€™s mouth just dropped. <Wait, really?>

Zayn did not say further, just nodded. [Yes.]

Xane thought about all the information Zayn told him earlier, and he
