 He tried again, a little more clearly this time.
 Still nothing. Cheon Areum frowned faintly, confusion flickering across his sleepy expression. Was Yoon Seoyul too focused on carefully walking down the stairs while carrying him? But that thought didn’t quite make sense. Because he had seen it—that brief moment when Seoyul’s gaze had shifted, when he had glanced down at him after hearing his name. He had heard him. Yet he said nothing, simply continuing down the stairs with the same nonchalance.

 Irritation finally snapped the last thread of Cheon Areum’s patience. His eyes flew open, the haze of sleep vanishing instantly as he grabbed Yoon Seoyul by the collar of his shirt, fingers clutching the fabric tightly while he shouted his name. Yoon Seoyul immediately stopped on the last step. He looked down at him, a hint of surprise flickering across his usually composed expression, clearly not expecting such a dramatic reaction.

 Cheon Areum stared at him for a long second.
 Then he slowly rolled his eyes. The irritation drained out of him just as quickly as it had flared up. With a tired exhale, he released Yoon Seoyul’s collar, the wrinkled fabric slipping from his fingers as if the effort of holding onto it had suddenly become too much. His shoulders sagged. A moment later, he let his head fall forward again, resting it against Yoon Seoyul’s chest, cheek pressed lightly against the steady warmth beneath the thin layer of fabric.
 "Is everything alright? Do you need something?"

 Cheon Areum complied immediately, barely even opening his eyes. His arms slid loosely around Yoon Seoyul’s neck. With a soft, absentminded motion, he rubbed his face against him—slow and drowsy. Yoon Seoyul shifted his hold carefully. The arm that had been supporting Cheon Areum’s upper body moved just long enough for him to reach forward and pick up a bowl from the counter, thin curls of steam rising gently from its surface.
 Once he had it, he adjusted his grip again, securing Cheon Areum against him before leaving the kitchen. Carrying both the bowl and Cheon Areum, he walked into the living room and lowered him into the corner of the couch. Yoon Seoyul made sure he was properly settled there, adjusting the cushions slightly so he would be comfortable as he saw the bowl on the table.
 "What is that?"
 "Clam porridge. I cooked it for you. Can you try it?"
 Since Yoon Seoyul had cooked it himself, Cheon Areum didn’t quite have the courage to refuse—especially not with the spoon already making its way toward his mouth. Yoon Seoyul blew lightly on the spoon first, cooling the steaming porridge before carefully guiding it to his lips. Cheon Areum obediently opened his mouth and took the spoonful, still slowly tasting the warm, savory flavor when another spoonful was already waiting for him.
 He barely had the chance to swallow before the next bite arrived.
 At first, he looked like he might complain, brows faintly knitting together at the relentless pace. But the warmth of the porridge slowly settled in his stomach, soothing the lingering heaviness in his body. Without realizing it, he stopped resisting. Spoonful after spoonful disappeared, and before he knew it, the entire bowl had been finished.
 "Do you feel better now? Did you not sleep well last night? Is that why you’re more tired today?"
 Cheon Areum didn’t answer any of the questions. He only sat there, leaning back into the corner of the couch, eyes half-lidded and unfocused. Yoon Seoyul studied him for a brief moment before standing. He gathered the empty bowl and spoon, carrying the dishes back to the kitchen. The faint sounds of running water and porcelain lightly touching the counter echoed from the other room before he returned shortly after.
 This time, he came back holding a glass of water. In his other hand was a small, clear wrapper containing a single white pill. Without a word, he stopped in front of Cheon Areum and held both out to him.

 That kind of thing simply didn’t exist. Suspicion quietly crept into his expression. Without making it obvious, Cheon Areum extended his senses, letting a thin thread of his energy spread outward through the room. It brushed along the walls, the furniture, the air itself—carefully scanning the house.
 If someone else was present, if another hunter was hiding nearby, he would feel it. But there was nothing. Only one familiar presence filled the house—Yoon Seoyul’s energy. Satisfied—though not entirely reassured—Cheon Areum withdrew his senses just as Yoon Seoyul moved closer and sat down in front of him, calm and composed as ever. Then he began to explain.

 "He can do this too?"
 "Yes, though it’s not easy..."
 The words stirred a memory. Cheon Areum suddenly recalled something Inho had mentioned not long ago—how Hwan had disappeared without warning nearly two months ago, as if he had vanished off the face of the earth. Now the pieces quietly fell into place. So that was it. Yoon Seoyul must have been keeping him confined all this time... just to make this. Cheon Areum’s gaze lifted slowly.
 "Where is he right now? You didn’t threaten him for this, did you?"
 The kind of questions Yoon Seoyul would usually be asking him... he now found himself asking Yoon Seoyul instead. It felt strangely reversed. Because when it came to him, Yoon Seoyul’s moral compass had always been a little broken. Lines he would normally never cross suddenly became negotiable, even invisible, the moment Cheon Areum was involved. He would allow things he would have never even considered before.

A slow, satisfied smile curved his lips as he lunged forward, tackling Yoon Seoyul playfully. His hands found the tie at Yoon Seoyul’s neck, tugging it loose, then moving to loosen the collar of the crisp white dress shirt with rolled-up sleeves that clung stubbornly to him.
 Yoon Seoyul, caught off guard but steady, held him at the hips, the faint weight of amusement in his posture giving Cheon Areum all the freedom he wanted. He casually began unbuttoning the shirt, fingers brushing over the smooth fabric and on the bare skin underneath.</div>
