The Substitute Ex-Wife: Seeking a Divorce
Chapter 187: Stalking
"I was seduced by that b*tch Miranda. I really didn’t want to break up with you, but I had no choice."
"You had no choice, so you took all the money on my card? Eric, I’m already married. If you don’t want to make a scene, you better leave now." With that, Anita turned around and walked towards the laboratory without looking at Eric. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
"Anita... Anita, how can you do this to me? Even you don’t want me anymore?" Seeing Anita turn around and walk forward mercilessly, Eric took two steps forward and shouted indignantly, but the woman in front of him didn’t seem to hear him at all. She didn’t even turn around and kept walking forward.
"What are you looking at? Haven’t you seen couples fight before?" Eric’s voice was too loud. The few people who passed by stopped and looked at him. He immediately felt a little embarrassed, so he looked at the people by the road and said loudly.
Anita ignored Eric, and she was completely unaffected by what had just happened.
"Anita, you’re back." As soon as he entered the laboratory, Jack saw Anita, so he quickly smiled and spoke first.
"Yes, I’m back. I’m sorry. It’s been hard on you recently," Anita said with a smile while looking at Jack.
"It’s nothing. Aren’t we partners?" Hearing Anita’s words, Jack touched his head in embarrassment and smiled.
"Have you looked for your mentor?" Seeing that Anita was already sitting in her seat and preparing to start the experiment, Jack said again.
"Yes, I’ve already been there. By the way, Jack, let me treat you to dinner tonight," Anita said as she looked up at Jack again.
"Are you thanking me for helping you with your experiment recently?"
"Yes, you’ve worked hard recently. I have to thank my partner," Anita said with a smile.
"Okay, then I’ll reluctantly agree."
The two of them didn’t say anything else during the subsequent experiment. Anita had indeed missed a lot of the experiment. She didn’t want her experiment progress to be affected by the exchange program with Columbia University. Moreover, she knew that many people were waiting to see her make a fool of herself.
So she worked harder than anyone else.
By the time she noticed the time, it was almost eight in the evening.
"Jack, let’s go." She almost forgot that she had to treat Jack to dinner tonight, so she didn’t delay and packed her things before looking at Jack.
"Well, let’s go," Jack said and filled the last bit of experimental data into the form before walking out with Anita.
"Jack, is that you? I’ve finally waited for you." When she walked out of the laboratory, Anita saw a girl with long hair and a white dress standing at the door. She was looking at Jack and smiling.
"Susan, why are you here?" Jack didn’t expect to suddenly see Susan here, so he looked at the girl in front of him and said in surprise.
"I just got into this school. I didn’t have the chance to tell you. I went to the house to see Auntie a few days ago. She said you were in this laboratory, so I came here to see if I could meet you." Susan saw Jack’s surprise, so she looked up at him and said.
"Really? You actually got into this school? That’s great," Jack said happily while listening to Susan.
"By the way, Anita, this is Susan. She’s my neighbor’s sister. She just got into our school." Jack didn’t forget Anita, who was standing beside him. When he came back to his senses, he quickly smiled and said.
"Hello, Susan. I’m Anita, Jack’s experimental partner." Anita reached out to shake Susan’s hand and smiled.
"Hello, Anita," Susan said with a smile.
"Jack, where are you going?" Susan said while glancing at Jack again.
"Well... Anita, why don’t we go for dinner another day?" Hearing Susan’s words, Jack remembered about dinner, so he glanced at Anita and said shyly.
"It’s okay. We’ll go another day. I have to go." Hearing Jack’s words, Anita waved her hand and smiled before turning to leave.
"Susan, have you eaten? Let me take you to dinner first." Looking at Anita’s back again, Jack came back to his senses and smiled at Susan.
"Not... not yet. I’ve been waiting here since class ended. I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to see you, so I didn’t dare to leave," Susan said with a smile as she looked up at Jack.
"How foolish. You have a lot of chances to see me. If you can’t see me today, there’s still tomorrow." Jack reached out to pat her shoulder. He smiled helplessly.
"I just wanted to see you earlier," Su San said softly while listening to Jack.
"Let’s go. I’ll take you to dinner."
"Okay." Susan nodded and followed Jack.
