Chapter 2069 - 2066: Advancement to Level 2 Demon Creature
"If it really doesn’t work, I’ll use a human wave tactic to drown it!" Ling Feng’s eyes flashed with a cold and fierce glint. He didn’t have much time to waste here; he wanted to quickly enhance his strength to pass the War God’s trial.
Currently, Ling Feng was already at the peak among first-level demons, so he wanted to control other first-level demons to serve as cannon fodder, giving him a chance to defeat the Red-tailed Scorpion.
The idea was beautiful, but Ling Feng forgot that first-level demons have no spiritual intelligence; all their actions are driven by instinct. Ling Feng tried to establish some sort of authoritative relationship among them, but he ultimately failed.
"No wonder first-level demons are like a pile of loose sand, without even the most basic racial hierarchy!" Ling Feng slapped a struggling first-level demon to death and sighed.
It seemed that his previous idea was not feasible.
If that’s the case, then he could only focus on tools. In the part of the forest where Ling Feng was located, there were many tree branches as hard as iron and vines like steel ropes. By making good use of these, Ling Feng believed he still had a chance to kill the Red-tailed Scorpion.
After two whole days of working, when everything was ready, Ling Feng held a three-meter long wooden spear and arrived at the Red-tailed Scorpion’s territory.
Roar! Roar! Roar! Ling Feng let out a low growl of a demon creature.
Soon, a powerful aura emanated from the jungle, and the figure of the Red-tailed Scorpion appeared in front of Ling Feng.
The spear in Ling Feng’s hand suddenly flicked, and the wooden spear shot toward the Red-tailed Scorpion like a bolt of lightning.
The Red-tailed Scorpion’s tail swung and smacked heavily onto the wooden spear, but this spear was made from the hardest wood in the forest, and instead of shattering, it pierced deeply into the Red-tailed Scorpion’s abdomen.
A shrill howl followed, and the Red-tailed Scorpion, hurt and in pain, charged madly at Ling Feng. Seeing that his goal was achieved, Ling Feng turned and ran towards a predetermined destination.
The Red-tailed Scorpion gave chase relentlessly, its speed even surpassing Ling Feng’s, which startled him, not expecting the injured Red-tailed Scorpion to have such explosive power.
"But... soon you’ll taste the feast I’ve prepared for you!" A cold smile appeared at Ling Feng’s lips.
Finally, leading the Red-tailed Scorpion to the destination, Ling Feng stood atop a giant tree and as the scorpion rushed over, he pulled a nearby mechanism. Dozens of large nets suddenly flew up from the ground towards the Red-tailed Scorpion.
These giant nets were woven by Ling Feng from the forest’s tough vines, and though they looked somewhat crude, they were exceptionally strong.
The Red-tailed Scorpion had no idea what these falling nets were; it instinctively swung its poisonous tail but was tightly entangled by the nets. Despite having several sharp scythe-like legs, it couldn’t break free from dozens of nets at once.
Seeing the entangled Red-tailed Scorpion, Ling Feng let out a breath of relief, drawing wooden spears from behind him and hurling them at the scorpion.
Dozens of wooden spears shot towards the Red-tailed Scorpion like meteors.
Thud! Thud! Thud! The sound of spears penetrating flesh filled the air, accompanied by a strong scent of blood. The Red-tailed Scorpion wailed, but it could do nothing now; it was like a sitting target, more powerful than Ling Feng yet only able to be worn down by him spear after spear.
Finally, having exhausted all the spears in his hands, Ling Feng cautiously approached the Red-tailed Scorpion, now pierced with dozens of spears.
"Dead! Finally dead!" Ling Feng breathed a sigh of relief, jumping onto the scorpion’s body and pulling out the spears, then digging out the horn atop its head.
Looking at this slightly red horn, Ling Feng squinted his eyes; he sensed a trace of elemental power from it. Could it be that a level 2 demon creature could possess some Elemental Power?
With this doubt, Ling Feng swallowed the horn in one bite.
Whoosh, Ling Feng felt as if his body were suddenly on fire, with flames sparking from his long fur, engulfing him in fire.
However, Ling Feng didn’t panic; he could feel that under the flames, his body was becoming more powerful.
"Is this the feeling of upgrading?" Ling Feng closed his eyes, carefully sensing every change in his body.
When the flames dissipated, Ling Feng’s appearance had changed significantly. He was still a long-haired demon, but with a tinge of fiery red in his fur, and Ling Feng could sense that he could now control a trace of the Power of Fire Element.
With a snap, a small flame appeared in Ling Feng’s palm. Though tiny, it made Ling Feng very satisfied.
Next, Ling Feng aimed to find other second-level demon creatures, to kill them and devour their horns!
But at this moment, an amused voice came from the sky: "I never expected to witness such an interesting scene, a long-haired demon that’s awakened spiritual intelligence and learned to use tools and strategy!"
Ling Feng’s expression changed dramatically, quickly looking up to see a fair-skinned man standing in the Void, watching him with a look of interest.
This man gave Ling Feng a feeling like the ocean, both tranquil and embodying a surging power beneath the tranquility.
"Run!" Ling Feng instantly knew he wasn’t a match for this person and he was likely a high-level demon creature!
Watching Ling Feng’s silhouette quickly fade away, the man laughed: "What an interesting little guy. If I didn’t have urgent matters to attend to, I definitely would catch you! But..."
As he spoke, the man flicked his finger, and a seal appeared out of thin air, then vanished into the air before imprinting itself on Ling Feng’s back.
"Once I’m done, I shall see how far you, little one, can grow!"
...
Ling Feng had no sense of the seal placed on him; he realized the man hadn’t chased him and felt a sense of narrowly escaping death.
If the other wished to kill him, it would likely be just a thought!
"Is this the power of high-level demon creatures?" Ling Feng breathed, his eyes showing a trace of determination.
Having devoured the Red-tailed Scorpion’s horn, Ling Feng advanced to a second-level demon creature, gaining some new information, as if unlocking something.
"Is this forest the Endless Forest?" Ling Feng raised an eyebrow. "And I’m only at the outskirts; there are Level 4 and even super demons at Levels 7 and 8 inside?"
