........

Aire shook her head in denial.

"No," she whispered, like saying it out loud would make it true. "No... that’s not... I feel nothing."

However, her denial didn’t stop the feeling. If anything, it spread. It grew warmer, settled low in her stomach and spread outward like heat beneath her skin.

The feeling was slow, unfamiliar, and dangerous.

She sat back on the bed, and her fingers tightened against the edge of the bed. Her breathing had changed.

She could hear it, and she could feel it.

Nate’s words still lingered in the room.

Alaric’s eyes didn’t leave her, and neither did Xanden’s.

And suddenly, the large room felt too small for all four of them.

Aire swallowed. Her throat felt dry, and the feeling grew. Her body suddenly felt too sensitive. Like everything had been turned up without her permission.

"No," she repeated, shaking her head again, even as her fingers curled tighter into the sheets. "It’s not happening. I’m not—"

Her words faltered. She felt her inside stretching, and awakening.

For a split second, she felt a flicker. A presence in her that wasn’t fully there, but not gone either.

"Aire..." Alaric called her. "Talk to us. What do you feel?"

Aire froze. Her breath caught.

Her wolf. If all she had read were true, then she would be right. This should be her wolf surging forward for the first time ever.

The realization hit her quietly.

After all this time. After nothing.

Now?

Now?

Why now?

"Aire," Xanden called this time, his tune more urgent. "What are you feeling?"

"Nothing," Aire whispered.

She sounded almost afraid. Her gaze flicked up, straight to them. They were still watching her, too closely, and too intensely.

Her heart started racing. They must not know.

"Leave." She ordered. The word slipped out before she could think about it.

None of them moved.

Aire’s chest rose sharply. "Leave," she repeated, stronger this time. "All of you."

They paused, and looked between themselves.

Alaric’s jaw tightened. Xanden frowned slightly. Nate tilted his head, wondering what was wrong with her.

Aire saw the bond taking place in the way their expressions changed.

"Aire..." Xanden started.

"Out," she cut him off, firmer this rime, and a bit angry.

This time, they obeyed immediately.

Alaric was the first to move. He had to, if not, the others won’t follow. The tension in their shoulders made that clear.

His gaze lingered on her. Leaving her like this was the last thing he wanted and that made it worse.

Xanden followed. His eyes were darker, and more conflicted.

Nate was last the last to follow. He paused at the door, studying her.

Quietly, they all stepped out.

The door closed behind him in finality.

The room was silent again the moment they all walked out.

Aire didn’t move immediately. First, she trued to breathe properly. The moment they were all gone, the feeling hit her fully.

Her body reacted all at once, and she let in a sharp inhale. Her shoulders tensed, and her toes curled.

Her fingers loosened from the sheets only to press against her own arms instead.

"God..." The word slipped out, barely audible. She flet almost breathless, in a good way.

The heat feeling was overwhelming. Consuming even. The warmth inside her spread, deeper, lower, and more insistent.

Her thighs pressed together instinctively. Her eyes fluttered shut at the sensation.

This wasn’t normal.

Her breath hitched. It felt like them. The three Alphas who just left her room. She perceived their fragrance all over, with their burning sensations.

Aire’s hand moved before she realized it. She laid back on the bed, and her hand moved slowly, yet hesitantly.

Her hand rested against her own body like she didn’t quite recognize it anymore. Her skin was too sensitive. Even the slightest touch sent a ripple through her.

Her lips parted. A quiet breath escaping her. Her mind betrayed her, and got stucked where she least expected it.

Her mind rested on Xanden’s closeness, the way his voice had dropped, and the way his hand had felt... had felt so strong, and firm.

Firm enough to destroy and rebuild her while using her own body against her.

Her mind travelled down to Alaric’s grip, as her hand travelled beneath her gown, and between her legs.

She felt his rough, and controlled grip around her, and how possessive he could be without saying a word.

Nate’s eyes cane to her mind almost immediately. The intensity of his eyes seized her breath.

Aire’s fingers curled slightly on her skin. Her breathing deepened, as her fingers travelled upward between her legs.

"This isn’t..." she whispered, but the protest had no strength behind it anymore.

Her body wasn’t listening.

Her thoughts blurred, and her control slipped away in quiet, dangerous ways.

It wasn’t just want. It was pull. The pull was instinctive, and didn’t ask for permission.

Her head tilted back slightly against the bedpost. Her chest raised and fell faster, as her fingers hit a spot between her legs, and stayed there, massaging the skin around it.

She stayed still then, enough to feel it, to understand it, and to come to the realization that this wasn’t going away.

Her wolf wasn’t silent anymore, and neither was her body. If her wolf was no longer silent, does that mean she was no longer cursed?

Her fingers pushed in softly, and pulled out, following a rhythm.

Her chest raised and fell, and estacy built up in her. Aire opened her eyes slowly, when she came to a certain satisfaction.

Her breathing was still uneven, with her thoughts still tangled.

"What are you three doing to me?" she whispered, refering to all three of them, as she pulled her fingers out of herself, and cleaned it on her gown.
