Chapter 102: I’m not Ella!

Alex

"You haven’t answered my question, Alex?" Eva said again, her voice sharper this time, pressing further as though she refused to let the matter drop.

She stood there, watching me closely, waiting for an answer that I was honestly not in the mood to give. The way she kept pushing made it clear she wasn’t going to back down easily. This woman was clearly becoming a pest, always twisting every simple moment into something complicated.

I exhaled slowly, trying to steady myself before responding. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖

"Can’t I address my baby like that, Eva?" I asked, deliberately keeping my tone controlled, though there was a tight edge underneath it as I tried to take control of the situation. "It is my baby we are talking about here, and that is my way of bonding with it." I added, watching her reaction carefully.

Eva’s expression shifted immediately, her eyes narrowing as if she was offended by the explanation I had just given her.

"No, Alex, that term makes it seem like I am being excluded in my child’s life!" Eva said, her voice rising slightly as she rubbed her stomach gently, almost protectively, as though reminding me of her presence and role.

Her hand lingered there, and I could tell she was intentionally drawing attention to it, trying to emphasize her point through action as much as words. It irritated me more than I wanted to admit.

"What’s wrong with you, Eva? You think too much!" I yelled suddenly, unable to keep the frustration out of my voice anymore. My patience snapped in that instant. "It’s our baby... both of us. The term I use doesn’t change that fact!" I added firmly, my gaze fixed on her, refusing to let her twist my words any further.

For a brief moment, there was silence between us, thick and uncomfortable. And then, slowly, I noticed her face begin to relax. The tension in her shoulders eased as if my words had finally reached her.

"If you insist all this is for my sake, Alex, I will accept Ella as a co Luna!" Eva said, her tone softening as she stepped closer. She even brushed her hand lightly against my chest, as if trying to smooth over the argument with physical closeness.

But instead of calming me, her touch only made something inside me recoil. I found her act so disgusting, so forced, so out of place in a moment that should have ended already.

"So let’s forget about Ella, Alex," she continued, her voice dropping into something more suggestive, almost playful in a way that immediately put me on edge. "It’s been a long time since you actually ever came to my room." She said seductively, her fingers slowly making their way toward my belt again, as though trying to pull me back into something I had clearly moved away from.

"Don’t you miss me?" she asked, her eyes searching mine with a look that was supposed to be alluring.

But all I felt was irritation building sharply in my chest. It wasn’t affection. It wasn’t nostalgia. It was discomfort, pure and simple. I immediately grabbed her hands and pulled them away from my belt, stopping her firmly before she could go any further.

Eva was so disgusting in that moment, and the realization hit me harder than before—she was nothing like Ella. Not in presence, not in grace, not in anything that actually mattered.

I couldn’t believe I had once been attracted to her. The thought alone made my stomach tighten with regret and disbelief.

She is so cheap.

Eva’s face paled almost immediately, as though the words had struck a nerve she was desperately trying to hide. For a moment, she just stood there, staring at me in disbelief, her expression tightening as the realization settled in.

"You have truly been avoiding me, Alex!" Eva said firmly, her voice rising with frustration. There was a sharpness to it now, like she was struggling to keep her emotions under control. "Did you just marry me to keep me as a decoration?" she asked, clearly annoyed, her eyes searching mine as though demanding a confession.

I sighed heavily, already feeling the conversation slipping into something I had no patience for. I took a deliberate step back, creating more distance between us, not just for space, but to avoid her making any more advances or attempts to close in on me.

"How many times do I have to explain it to you, Eva?" I asked, my tone low but strained, frustration seeping through despite my effort to stay calm. "I am busy with a lot of things!" I added, gesturing slightly with my hand as if that alone should be enough explanation for her to understand.

But Eva didn’t look convinced. In fact, her irritation only deepened.

"That’s it, Alex!" Eva said suddenly, dramatically raising her hand to her forehead as though she was overwhelmed by my response. "You are always busy," she added with a bitter edge, her voice dripping with sarcasm now.

She tried again to close the distance between us, stepping forward like she still had access to the space I had already tried to deny her. But I immediately shifted back again, keeping my distance steady, making sure she didn’t get too close.

"I am a woman, Alex, and I need my husband," Eva said, her voice softening slightly, but there was still a demanding undertone beneath it, like she expected that statement alone to change everything.

And at that moment, I couldn’t help but feel something unsettling in her words. It wasn’t just frustration anymore—it was beginning to feel like suspicion. The way she looked at me, the way she was pressing so hard, it was as if she was trying to read between lines I hadn’t even spoken.

"If you could at least handle some pack matters, I wouldn’t have been this busy!" I yelled instantly, unable to hold back my irritation any longer. My patience had reached its limit, and it showed clearly in my tone. "Look, Eva, go rest okay... I still need to prepare for the inauguration ceremony and go get Ella back!" I added, my voice firm, final, leaving no room for argument.

The mention of Ella made the air shift slightly, and I noticed Eva’s eyes sharpen immediately.

Eva scoffed, a short, dismissive sound that carried more meaning than words. "Alex, are you really sure you haven’t fallen for Ella?" she asked, her tone slow and deliberate, as though she already suspected the answer and was just forcing me to say it aloud. "You seem so eager to bring her back!" She added.

And honestly, I had had enough of her nonsense by then. The constant questioning, the accusations, the insistence—it was draining every bit of patience I had left.

"Go back to your room, Eva!" I said sharply, completely ignoring her question as if it had never been asked. My voice was colder now, more controlled but firm in a way that left no space for negotiation. "I have a lot to attend to!" I added, pointing my hand firmly toward the door, signaling her clearly to leave.

"No, Alex, I am not leaving here without at least getting a kiss from you!" she said again, her voice rising with stubborn determination as she tried once more to close the distance between us.

She moved forward like she had already made up her mind, as though my refusal meant nothing to her. There was something unsettling in the way she insisted, something that made my stomach tighten. Eva is getting insane?

What’s wrong with her?

I stared at her for a moment, almost disbelieving what I was hearing. I don’t want any intimate contact with her. Not even the slightest.

"Eva, don’t test my patience!" I said immediately, my tone sharp and warning, because with each passing second, she disgusted me further and pushed me closer to losing control of my temper.

But she didn’t stop. She only straightened herself, her expression hardening as though my reaction had confirmed something in her mind.

"That’s it, Alex, you are finally truly showing your real colours!" she said firmly, her eyes narrowing as she spoke. "You being busy is just an excuse... you want nothing to do with me." She added, her voice now carrying frustration mixed with accusation, as if she had already decided the truth about me.

I took a deep breath and ran a hand through my hair in frustration, trying to steady myself before I said something I might regret. The pressure of the moment was becoming unbearable, her words pressing against my already thinning patience.

But Eva wasn’t finished.

"But let me tell you one thing, Alex," she continued, her tone dropping into something more intense, almost possessive. "I am not Ella, and I won’t allow you to discard me whenever you please." She added, her voice shaking slightly with emotion. "We are married, and we must and will act like a couple!" she said firmly, as though that declaration alone could bind me to her will.

And just as abruptly as she had escalated the situation, she turned away, her footsteps heavy with anger, before storming out of the room without another word.
