Chapter 194: Finding Her

Leonard’s POV

The wheels of our private jet hit the tarmac with a loud screech, and my heart raced with different emotions.

We had finally landed in China. The moment the doors opened, the bright afternoon sun’s heat hit my face. Liam stepped out first, his face set in a deadly, cold expression under the harsh daylight. Leo followed right behind him, his eyes glued to his tablet, his face completely pale and unreadable.

"The tracker just got the exact address of her art studio," Leo said, his voice tight as he showed us the screen. "It’s a small studio in Shanghai."

Through our endless pack connections, three sleek black cars were already waiting for us right on the runway. Our head tracker was standing by the door of the lead vehicle, bowing his head as we approached. We didn’t waste a single second. The three of us threw ourselves into the back seat, and the driver slammed on the gas, racing through the busy, crowded streets of the city.

My claws were scratching against my knees the entire ride. Scarlett. Scarlett. Scarlett. The name was repeating in my head like a drumbeat.

When the car finally screeched to a halt in front of her studio, we jumped out before the tires even stopped moving. But the moment we reached the glass doors, my face fell into a deep frown.

The afternoon sun was shining right on the glass, but inside, it was totally dark. The lights were off, and the front door was locked tight.

"Damn it!" I roared, throwing a fist against the brick wall next to the door. "Where is she? She said she was done hiding!"

Liam’s eyes flashed a dangerous gold as he looked around the empty street. He turned his head sharply toward our tracker, who was frantically tapping on his device. "Find her," Liam growled, his Alpha voice making the tracker’s hands shake. "Now."

"Alpha, I am looking at her phone signal right now," the tracker stammered, holding up his screen. "She isn’t here. Our sources in the city say Scarlett has been seeing a wealthy local businessman named Chen. According to her phone signal, she is currently at his private estate."

My blood instantly turned to pure fire. Seeing another man? A wealthy businessman? The very thought of another male touching my mate, looking at her, or being near her made my inner wolf want to rip the city apart.

"How far?" Liam demanded. His voice was dropping into that terrifyingly low pitch, the skin around his jaw tightening with an insane, possessive rage.

"It’s about a one-hour drive from here, sir," the tracker replied quickly. "It’s a highly secured mansion on the edge of the city."

Liam spat on the ground, his eyes burning with absolute fury as he turned back toward the car.

"Let’s go," Liam snapped.

We threw ourselves back into the black car, the doors slamming shut with a heavy thud. The driver didn’t need us to tell him twice. He hit the gas, and the car flew down the highway, racing against the afternoon clock.

For one whole hour, nobody in the car spoke. The air was thick with our mixed Alpha auras, so heavy and angry that the human driver looked like he was about to pass out from the pressure. My mind was burning with rage and jealousy. A wealthy human? Scarlett living in his house? It was driving my wolf completely insane.

Finally, the car slowed down as we reached the edge of the city. A massive, high-walled estate appeared through the windows. It looked like a fortress.

But the moment our car stopped in front of the giant iron gates, my wolf stood up, sensing immediate danger.

"Look up," Leo said, growling.

Through the windshield, I saw them. Heavy security guns were built into the top of the concrete walls, and every single one of them was pointing straight down at our car.

I frowned deeply. Why on earth was a human businessman’s house this highly secured? This wasn’t normal, even for a rich man.

Liam opened his door and stepped out into the afternoon heat, his tall body tense. Leo and I climbed out right behind him. We stood in front of the closed gate, staring up at the cameras.

Suddenly, a loud electronic beep echoed, and a man’s voice came through a speaker near the intercom.

"Who are you, and what do you want?" the voice asked, sounding cold and sharp.

Liam stepped up to the intercom, his voice dropping into his deep, commanding Alpha tone. "We are here for Scarlett. Go inside and tell her the triplets are here."

There was a short pause on the other end, and then the man let out a harsh, angry sound. "And who the fuck are you?"

I felt instantly irritated. My fangs clicked against my teeth. I pushed past Liam and glared at the camera lens. "I am Alpha Leonard," I snarled into the speaker. "And these are my brothers, Alpha Leo and Alpha Liam. We are the Alphas of the Full Moon Pack. Now go in there and call Scarlett out here right now!"

The man on the line went completely silent for a few seconds. When he spoke again, his voice was tight and filled with disgust. "You men... you are werewolves."

My eyes narrowed. It would be so easy for the three of us to just shift, grab these iron bars, and tear down this entire gate with our bare hands. But I was controlling my composure. I didn’t want to break things and frighten Scarlett. She was already hiding from us; forcing our way in might make her run again.

I took a deep breath and tried to keep my temper down. "Don’t waste my time, Mr. Chen, or whatever your name is. Go inside the house and call Scarlett."

"You men are the people who sent the assassins to kill her, right?" Chen’s voice suddenly roared through the speaker, full of pure hatred. "Never. I won’t let you near her. You will have to shoot through me first."

My brow furrowed in absolute shock. I froze, my heart dropping straight into my stomach.

"Assassins?" I demanded, my voice cracking as a wave of pure terror washed over my anger. "Assassins to Scar? What the fuck are you talking about?!"
