"what are your order sir?" Jane calmly asked. Though her mind was a wreck right now, she couldn’t afford to be distorted in front of the the president. Maintaining her professional self.

Not speaking marcus seemed to be in deep thought. His expression was dark, like the usual vibrant life was sucked oyt from his.

Taking a deep sigh, he raised the glass containing the red wine. Making a toast to an invisible prescence, chugging it down in one go.

"Alert all the electoral bodies and vip members of the continents. They should be well aware of the threat at hand." Marcus sternly ordered to which jane nodded.

"What is the status of the police department in harum city?" He asked with an indifferent face.

"Between the last 3 hours there hasn’t been a disruption in the area. Until the distress call sir." Jane relayed to which marcus slightly nodded.

’It seems it hasn’t escalated as I’d predicted.’ marcus sighed a bit in relief hearing Jane’s status report. Standing up he walked towards the huge galls windows.

Gazing down he could see crowds of people going about their business. Unaware of the rising tension challenging the continents.

"Rally all the remaining crow members and underground officials. Equip them with the latest weapons developed in the safe room. We must be prepared for what is about to come." Marcus boldly declared, hus tone a bit heavy.

"Yes president." Bowing slightly jane then proceeded out the door. Heading to her designated station in response to marcus orders.

"Sighs~ i never thought it would escalate this quickly." Marcus let out a weak sigh, shaking his head.

"What were you thinking idiot!?" Marcus angrily yelled punching forward at the glass window.

It was made from thick glass, with enough durability to withstand a low callibre bullet. Pretty strong, but marcus fist had managed to inflict somewhat damge to it. Slightly cracking it, where he punched.

"There’s no other choice. We can’t let the mistakes we made affect everyone." Wiping his hand from the little blood sustained from the cut.

He went to a particular section of the huge office room. Specifically where some swords were crossed hung on a wooden fram on the wall. Placing a small red cube to the little hole, at the bottom of the frame.

’Clang!’ A clang sound was heard along with some mechanical whirring. Under his gaze the wall split into two to the side. Revealing yet another hidden room.

"It’s been a while." Marcus lightly chuckled stepping in.

....

At the entrance to harum city, several jeep j8 were parked. With sub automatic machine guns stationed on top. Some few meters away, a black portal spawned.wuth the emergence of a figure.

"You couldn’t just directly have telepirted me to Kelly’s apartment." Jack frowned getting up, and dusting himself. He was still dressed in the surprsingly wolf fur clothing.

"Why should i? You’re insignificant to me, the only reason you’re still alive is because hades says so." Casper retorded with an innocent smile. Elegantly stepping out from the black portal which closed the next moment.

Gritting his teeth, jack swallowed his pride. Not wanting to waste time arguing, with a creature that could end him in seconds.

’what happened here.’ his face went pale seeing the dozens of corpses laying on the ground.

A bitter feeling overwhelming him with bad thoughts clouding his mind like a fog.

"I can’t fail."

Crouching down to one of the corpses, it was missing some few body parts. Like his left arm and a huge chunk of his neck was gone.

"A savage beast?" Jack thought noticing the bite marks on several parts of the body.

"Growl!"

The man’s eye abruptly shone open, grabbing onto Jack’s neck. His white eyes stared lifelessly into his eyes, with a foul stench potruding from his pale body.

’Zombie.’ Jack’s eye widened in shock clearly recognizing the zombie.

As an undead he’d faced a few subclass of his. Like the skeletons hades created. And while they were weaker in individual, they certainly proved a headache once merged together.

"Growl?"

The male zombie tilted it’s head in confusion staring at kyle. Before the latter’s eye the zombie let go, kneeling before jack.

"What happened?" The zombie’s grip wasn’t strong and it was way weaker than him. Like the time he’d first reincarnated as an undead.

So he could easily kill it with a finger, but he hesistated. Wanting to test out a weird theory he formed in his head.

’Even though theur mindless flesh eaters, they consider me one of their kind.’

Low levelled zombies lacked in physical power and intelligence. Having an impeccable heightened sense of smell for flesh and blood.

While they were drawn to sound they lacked physical power and were usually really slow. Moving in a distorted pattern, making them easier to kill one at a time. But there was still a chance of getting infected by the slightest scratch or bite.

"No~ how is this even possible?" It was no doubt this zombie was formally a soldier.

Putting on the official earthy navy brown army wear. And from the three stars present on his chest, he was a high ranking soldier.

[Just like how beasts can sense another of it’s kind aura so can undeads. Though zombies are considered the weakest of undeads with little intelligence. They acknowledge a stronger undead, becoming it’s slave.]

’like an alpha and a pack.’ jack inwardly spoke understanding what aethone was driving at.

[Exactly.. just like a leader and his subordinates.]

Shifting his attention back to the zombie, it didn’t move. Still positioned kneeling before jack, like a loyal pet.

’it didn’t attack Casper.’ He wasn’t sure the zombie was aware of caspers existence. Though the chubby black cat was besides him licking it’s paw.

"I can feel you staring at me!" Casper said startling jack a bit. His brows furrowing while his two big emerald eyes darting a dangerous glare at him.

Awkwardly clearing his throat, kyle averted his gaze from the black cat. Earning a pout from casper, continuing in his business.

’I’m still confused how there’s a zombie here without the planet evolving.’

He didn’t know how zombies, nor any mythical creature was creature. Probably by birth, but that was it. There was also the new information of planet evolution.

Somehow corroding the genes of the species living within it. Either granting them superhuman feights and abilities. Or completely altering them into more untold creatures.

[Enders is on the verge of evolving but it hasn’t. As for the zombie his gene has been scientifically altered into an undead.] Aethone calmly explained.

’Scientifically altered?’ He had a clear picture what aethone meant, but he didn’t think it was possible.

Enders had some potential scientists but they weren’t large in number. And the equipments here though revolutionary wasn’t anything breathtaking to behold.

But, if truly this was the case and somehow they’d done it. There was only one person he could think of, capable of such feet.

’Bryce harper~" a vein bulged at the sude of his forehead, recalling such name.

Calming himself, he adjusted his right leg back a bit. Crouching a bit getting in a sprinting stance.

’Bam!’

The ground beneath his feet cracked a bit, unable to take such overwhelming force.

"D- did he just ghost me." Casper blankly stared at Jack’s back, fading away.

Crunching his brow, a friwn formed on the feline’s adorable face. "I’ll make sure you pay hooman!"

...

"I should be there in about a minute." He plaused moving like a blur, passing through the streets of harum city.

Kelly’s house wasn’t that far from his location. And he had almost 200 point in agility making him on the same par as a moving jet.

"I was too late."

Jack clenched his fist hearing the screams and cries of citizens echoing in the air. Even the floors were littered with dead bodies that were half devoured.

Soon springing back to life as an undead, the next moment.

[Something’s not right.] Snow suddenly uttered gaining Jack’s attention.

’What do you mean?’

[The bodies, why aren’t they completely devouring them?]

’ehhm.. can they do that?’ He knew the basics about zombies, but their feasting cycle was a different topic.

[Yes. A single zombie is capable of devouring an entire human body. Though some nott at once, but according to my data. There should be a out 50 undead around this location.] Aethone indifferently said, making Jack’s heart sink more.

’Ye could tell it wasn’t long this pandemic started before he arrived. As the bodies on the roads were still intact, with fresh bit marks.

Some turning into zombies as he passed by.

"Ahhh!" A scream pulled his attention from his thoughts.

"I know that voice." Hitting the brakes, his legs dug into the concrete floor. Creating a riptide where he stopped. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮

Changing course, he dashed towards a familiar dead end street he was well accustomed to.

’Ardo street.’

Entering he could see 8 zombies gaining on two defenseless females. Their backs arched against the wall.
