Alen looked around the pure white space, which was now completely devoid of the bright, sparkling light and the ancient throne.

"What was that...?"

"Did something happen, or was it all an illusion? Ughh... Forget it, I’ll figure it out later."

[Do you want to open the 1x Memory Fragment?]

[Yes / No]

Alen looked at the interface.

"A memory fragment? What is it? Does it contain any information about the Holy Grail? Humm... If it does, then it will definitely be useful."

"Yes..."

As he uttered that word, the entire white world turned black, and he was once again swallowed by a pool of darkness, falling completely unconscious.

...

"Hey wait, stop! Come here, little buttery, come here! Look, I brought you cookies!"

A small boy, no older than five, was running after a beautiful blue butterfly. They were in a gorgeous garden filled with all kinds of vibrant plants and flowers. The butterfly was flying away from the wild child, who was chasing after it like crazy.

The boy just wanted to feed the insect, but his aggressive running only made the butterfly more frightened!

A beautiful woman sat not far from the running child. She was dressed in a simple yet elegant gown, her braided hair making her look even more stunning. She was sitting in a chair beside a round patio table, sipping tea. With her beauty, she looked like a noblewoman at a grand ball.

Even as she sat drinking her tea, her entire focus was on her child. She watched him run after the butterfly with a worried look.

"Rian, stop running, you will fall down..." Kaisi called out, trying to stop him.

But the excited child wasn’t listening at all.

*SLIP~*

As Rian ran, his foot mistakenly got caught on a tree root that was poking out of the grass.

*Thud!*

The boy tripped and face-planted hard into the dirt.

Kaisi gasped and ran toward him. She dropped to her knees and lifted Rian up.

"Baby, are you alright? Did you get hurt? Let me look."

She hugged him tightly. Looking down, she saw a little graze on his knee where a tiny bit of blood was leaking. Rian hugged his mother back, his eyes growing moist.

"Sniff... Sniff... I am alright, Mama."

*Sigh...*

Kaisi pulled back slightly, still holding his hand. She moved her palm over his scraped knee.

*Hummm...*

A warm green light started to emit from her hand, slowly and painlessly healing his wound. Rian stopped crying, blinking back his tears as he rested his head on her shoulder.

A few minutes passed in comfortable silence.

"Are you okay now?" she asked.

"Yeah... Mama."

She smiled brightly and said, "Let’s go inside. I will allow you one extra piece of chocolate as a reward because you were brave and didn’t cry."

The boy’s sadness instantly vanished, and a massive, happy grin pasted itself onto his face. He quickly scrambled to his feet, bouncing with excitement.

"Hehehe..."

"Let’s go, Mama! I can’t wait to eat chocolate! I will eat two... please, Mama, let me eat two."

He made a cute, innocent face that would make anyone’s heart melt. Kaisi tapped his nose lightly, always losing to his little blackmailing tactics.

"Okay, but only two, alright?"

"Yeah!"

Rian answered cheerfully.

They started walking out of the garden. But as they walked, Kaisi looked back over her shoulder one last time. Her eyes were a complete, terrifying contrast to the gentle gaze she had just shown Rian.

The blue butterfly, which had landed on a nearby flower, suddenly burst into intense, dark flames. It quickly turned to ash, and the ash vanished into the wind. The very existence of the insect was wiped out in the span of a single second.

Kaisi turned her dark eyes away from the garden and continued walking with her son.

...

Days passed in a blur, and soon, it was Rian’s sixth birthday. He was still the same mischievous child who threw tantrums about this and that. And Kaisi still protected him fiercely, never letting him suffer even an ounce of pain.

"Mom, when is Dad going to come out? Shouldn’t he have finished his work by now? It’s been nearly a month since I last saw him."

Rian pouted, protesting the long absence. His father was constantly working on some research and hadn’t come out of the secret lab below the mansion in weeks.

"Don’t worry, baby, he will come soon. I talked to him, and he promised he would surely come up tonight for your birthday."

"Oh, he’s coming out? Yeah, it will be fun! I’ve been waiting for days! Finally, I get to see Father..."

Just as Rian was bouncing with excitement, a concealed door opened, and Mark stepped out of the lab. He wore a loose shirt and was quite handsome, but the heavy dark circles under his eyes revealed extreme exhaustion.

Rian saw his father, sprinted toward him, and hugged his legs. Mark caught him and patted his head affectionately.

"Darling, how many days are you going to waste your time on this research? What exactly are you studying that requires you to stay away from your family for a whole month?"

Kaisi asked, stepping closer with a deeply worried expression.

Mark shifted his tired eyes to his wife.

"It’s nothing, Kaisi. Just a little interesting research I stumbled upon. Nothing else. You don’t have to worry about it."

"Anyway, let’s celebrate Rian’s birthday. I am pretty tired, so I need to go to sleep early tonight."

Rian backed away with a slightly disappointed look. Kaisi forced a smile and answered,

"Okay, darling. You should go wash up. I will get everything ready."

Mark nodded and walked off toward his room.

Some time later, everyone was dressed and ready. The mansion was buzzing with activity as hundreds of servants swarmed from room to room. Today was the birthday of the heir to a renowned noble house, so it was a highly important event.

Guests were gathered in the grand hallway. From distant noble relatives to closely allied familiar houses, everyone had come to celebrate Rian’s birthday.

As Rian came down the grand staircase with his parents, the crowd in the hallway quieted down. They all looked up at the boy’s bright, smiling face.

When they reached the bottom floor, Mark stepped forward.

"Hello everyone. I am very happy you all gathered here today for my son’s birthday. I want you all to give him your best wishes. Let’s start the celebration without wasting any more time."

As he spoke, the kitchen doors opened, and a giant, luxurious cake was wheeled out. As the cake was brought in front of Rian, his excited expression brightened even more. Today was his birthday, so his mother had said he could eat all the cookies and cake he wanted!

"Let’s cut it together, shall we?" Rian asked his parents.

They looked at each other and nodded. "Okay..."

As they cut the cake together, the crowd cheered loudly.

Rian felt an overwhelming sense of joy. It had been so long since he felt this perfectly happy. His parents were with him, the hall was filled with people who had come just to participate in his happiness, and they had all brought him gifts. He had everything he wanted and needed.

He had his parents’ love and care. He had achieved the ultimate happiness a child could ask for.

’I promise that I will keep being happy and make everyone around me happy too. I will never let anyone feel sad. I want to make my parents proud. I will do anything to achieve that.’ 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖

As the sudden notifications flooded his vision, a pillar of pure divine energy tore through space and landed directly on the young boy. Fortunately, the divine pillar didn’t hurt anyone in the hall, but the blinding light stunned the crowd, forcing everyone to shield their eyes.

Rian’s small body floated up into the air. He shone brightly with pure divine energy as a massive amount of mana absorbed into his core, forcefully awakening him.

He had just become the youngest child in the world to Awaken!

As the light slowly subsided, his body drifted gently back down to the floor. He slowly opened his eyes.

Everyone in the room stared at the six-year-old boy in absolute awe, completely mesmerized by the divine energy emitting from his small body.
