The Unveiling of Secret Queen
Chapter 2049: Zevaney Kingsley Is More Likely—No Way It’s Nathalie Quinlan
"Mm." Orson Saban heard it wasn’t Nathalie Quinlan, furrowed his brow slightly, and withdrew his gaze from the girl, walking past Harvey Cadorette toward the lab bench.
He first checked the experimental data Harvey Cadorette had worked on in recent days, which was mediocre, leaving Orson Saban less than satisfied.
His already not-so-great mood grew increasingly irritable.
However, Orson Saban still intended to address what needed to be said in advance.
"Where are the others in Group 10?"
This was the first question he asked upon entering.
Leony Davidson and others seemed a bit gloating.
Harvey Cadorette awkwardly scratched his head: "...Nathalie and the others are on leave."
Orson Saban’s face darkened, and he responded with another "Mm," as if speaking casually: "I came this afternoon to let you know something in advance."
Everyone in the Level 8 lab waited for him to speak.
Orson Saban took a deep breath, his voice low: "There will be a newcomer in the lab tomorrow, and you need to take good care of them."
With these words, the entire Level 8 lab fell into an eerie silence.
Everyone exchanged glances, never expecting that one day their lab would have someone who got in through connections.
This...
Leony Davidson silently tightened her fingertips, all the more unable to understand.
Backed by the Davidson Family, one of the three Great Families in Inderia, she had worked hard step by step to get to where she was today. Before entering the Level 8 lab, she had faced numerous setbacks and worked hard to get through the assessment.
And yet, someone managed to use connections.
They want something for nothing!
Harvey Cadorette was equally taken aback and looked at Orson Saban.
But anyone with eyes could see that Orson Saban wasn’t too pleased with this person being forced in, and he wisely avoided any confrontation.
"Teacher, is there anything we need to prepare for tomorrow?"
Orson Saban reluctantly accepted the so-called ’prodigy’ for Nicholas Fuller’s sake, but he didn’t quite approve of Nathalie Quinlan.
Especially since he specifically came this afternoon to handle the matter in advance.
And yet Nathalie wasn’t even here.
Orson Saban was even more dissatisfied with such an unsteady, unmotivated person.
"No need to prepare." Orson Saban was unwilling to bring it up again and only instructed Harvey Cadorette: "Organize the experimental data from the past two days and give it to me."
With that, he left the Level 8 lab and headed to his dedicated office.
Earlier, with Orson Saban around, there was someone to hold things in check, so others in the lab didn’t dare discuss the matter.
Now that Orson Saban had left, the place immediately buzzed with excitement, like a pot boiling over.
"There’s a newcomer coming tomorrow?"
"Who? Zevaney Kingsley?"
"Isn’t this an airlift? Tsk, this person must have incredible connections to even get in here."
Denny Harrison placed a hand on Harvey Cadorette’s shoulder and curiously asked him, "Who do you think the tutor is referring to as the newcomer?"
Harvey Cadorette, looking honest and with a tanned face, glanced back at him with a helpless expression: "How would I know?"
"The teacher said it suddenly; I didn’t hear any rumors beforehand."
Denny Harrison, younger and more carefree, was the first to notice Nathalie and the others still in the lounge before.
He was also the first to notice Orson Saban’s attention to Group 10 twice today.
He said to Harvey Cadorette, "Do you think the tutor was referring to someone we know?"
"Like who?"
"Like..." Denny Harrison grinned, "the rookie king."
Harvey Cadorette thought he was going to mention Zevaney Kingsley, considering Zevaney was a once-in-a-century genius of the Kingsleys Family, which also held a prestigious position.
If anyone at The First Research Institute could use connections,
it ought to be Zevaney Kingsley.
Who could have a more powerful network than the Kingsleys Family?
