But they were all very cautious, sneaking a glance and then quickly averting their gaze, pretending to talk to the person next to them, acting as if nothing had happened.

Leony Davidson, however, was the exception.

She was almost openly excluding Nathalie Quinlan in the Level 8 laboratory. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶

Ever since Nathalie openly didn’t give her face and clearly stated that she was the parachuted rookie, Leony wore a dark expression, visibly gloomy.

No matter how many times she walked around the lab, passing by Nathalie and Agnes Baker.

Leony acted as if she was stingy in giving Nathalie even a glance, extremely cold and exclusionary.

She took the lead in blatantly ostracizing the newcomer.

The other people in the lab didn’t dare to offend her.

This caused the whole lab to have a strange atmosphere all morning, with everyone obviously sneaking glances toward Nathalie’s side, yet no one stepping forward to talk to her.

By midday.

Leony was the first to drop her things and called to the people around her to go out for lunch.

Harvey Cadorette had just returned and, seeing this scene, stopped her and proactively said, "Leony, today is Nathalie’s first day joining our lab. Let’s all have a meal together to celebrate, my treat."

Leony’s anger, held back all morning, almost broke through. She immediately furrowed her brows, not even giving face to Harvey, turned cold and said, "I don’t eat with people I’m not familiar with!"

"Nathalie has already joined our lab, she..." Harvey was about to say she’s one of us, and according to our lab’s tradition, whenever a new person comes, everyone gathers for a meal to celebrate.

But before he could finish his sentence, Leony had already turned away and walked off without a backward glance.

Once Leony left.

The part of the Level 8 lab that was currying favor with Leony said to him, "Harvey, we’re going...to have lunch now?"

Seeing that he couldn’t stop them, Harvey had no choice but to let them leave.

The rest, maintaining an attitude of not offending anyone, also found excuses to leave.

The once large lab was now left with only a handful of people.

Among the Level 8 lab, only Denny Harrison and he remained, with the others being Agnes and her group.

Harvey felt a bit dumbfounded, rubbing his temples, forcing a smile to hide his awkwardness, he walked over to the girl, coughed once, and said, "Uh, Nathalie, don’t take it to heart. They’re not excluding you; Leony might have some misunderstanding about you, that’s why..."

Nathalie absentmindedly glanced at her phone: "It’s not really a misunderstanding. I did come in through the back door after all."

Harvey was momentarily distracted but soon came to his senses, chuckled, and said, "Denny and I don’t have any plans for lunch, how about we go eat together?"

Denny also walked over with a cheerful smile, "Yeah, little junior, what do you feel like eating?"

Nathalie had just seen a message from Jaycent Kingsley and hadn’t replied before receiving a phone call from Amadeus Yancey.

Looking at the person who had been gone for almost two days, Nathalie said to Harvey and the others: "Maybe next time, you guys go eat first, and I’ll treat next time."

"I’m leaving now." She said, picking up her single shoulder bag and walking away.
