At first, he was not willing to keep Nathalie Quinlan by his side.

Nicholas Fuller only allowed him to let Nathalie enter the Level 8 laboratory; he could have just let her in and then ignored her existence.

But later, he received recommendation letters from Master Cadmus and Amadeus Yancey, both of whom recommended Nathalie, saying the girl had extraordinary talent in this area.

Only then did Orson Saban change his mind, and for this period, he had been keeping Nathalie by his side to study with him.

"This time it was an accident." Orson’s voice was low: "I didn’t intend to make things difficult for her at first. Who knew she skipped class yesterday afternoon and didn’t come to the laboratory. The others in the laboratory had a problem with this; they told me a few things and said they wanted to fairly compete with her. I also wanted to see how much she had learned during this time. So, I agreed to that person’s proposal."

"You’re talking about Leony Davidson?" Nicholas Fuller, quite familiar with the people at the research institute, immediately mentioned the name. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂

"Yes." Orson faced him frankly: "I wasn’t targeting you, nor did I intend to make things difficult for her."

Nicholas smiled lightly, his tone relaxed: "I know you didn’t mean to. We’ve been friends for so many years; I wouldn’t distrust you."

"If you didn’t want to, you would have directly refused me at the start; since you let her into the Level 8 laboratory, you wouldn’t deliberately make things difficult for a rookie."

Nicholas spoke so casually that Orson felt a bit embarrassed: "How about I just tell them to forget it, no competition?"

"No." Nicholas said calmly: "Why not compete? Let them compete!"

"I also want those insiders and outsiders to see the strength of the person I picked, to see what true genius is. So they don’t boast about a slightly talented child from their family as a genius."

"...A genius isn’t something just anyone can have. A so-called genius must be favored by heaven, in addition to having inherited traits, those people are not worthy."

"Director, do you really believe in her that much?" In his heart, Orson still doubted how much Nathalie could have learned in just half a month, he only hoped that Nathalie wouldn’t lose too badly to Leony Davidson in a moment.

"It’s not that I believe in her." Nicholas hesitated: "She is worth believing in, you’ll find out in a moment. Also, she did have an urgent issue yesterday afternoon. Come see me later, I’ll explain to you."

"Okay." Orson answered, understanding Nicholas Fuller’s regard for Nathalie and once again reevaluated in his mind.

He had just hung up the phone and put it down.

Harvey Cadorette knocked and came in.

Orson checked the time, only an hour and a half had passed. He thought Harvey came in to discuss the semiconductor project, so he calmly sat down and said, "Come in."

Harvey came in quickly, respectfully called him: "Teacher, Nathalie Quinlan has finished."

Orson was astonished as he turned around to look at him: "You mean she..."

"Nathalie’s group completed the experiment."

Harvey himself was in a daze, not understanding how, just half an hour before, Leony Davidson’s group was ahead of Nathalie’s group in progress, and yet half an hour later Nathalie’s group not only surpassed them but directly completed it.

"Teacher, they’re waiting outside for you to check the results."

Orson, surprised, stood up and said to him: "Let’s go, take a look."

Harvey walked alongside him as they headed out.

Outside, everyone was looking at Nathalie’s group with incredulous eyes, whispering and discussing.
