The Villainess Is My Cute Daughter
Chapter 121: Dungeon Upgrades!
He quickly drew a fresh set of arrows. They routed directly from the boar’s stomach and pushed straight up into the curved horns on its head.
’The meat loses its toughness.’ Adrian thought before shaking his head.
’I cannot actually build this.’ Adrian thought, dropping the charcoal pencil.
He opened his dungeon menu using the system interface and navigated to his monster spawner tab.
He looked at his current capabilities. He had the power to mutate the monsters that were already logged inside his dungeon. But his roster was completely pathetic right now. Because he only ever threw low-level trash into his system, he only had the base data for standard Goblins and the Red-Horned Boar. He could make stronger versions of these monsters, but that was it.
And the mutation feature itself was incredibly flawed.
He clicked on the Red-Horned Boar icon.
[Check for Mutations?]
He clicked yes.
A small, randomized list of highly specific, pre-determined mutations popped up. He could make the boar slightly larger. He could make its tusks slightly sharper. He could give it thicker fur.
That was it.
The current system was basically just a random loot box generator, which meant that it was completely inflexible. He couldn’t manually drag the mana pathways from the muscles into the horns. He couldn’t act like god and custom build the genetic sequence from scratch. He could only click on whichever random mutation the system decided to give him.
’This is useless.’ Adrian clicked his tongue, swiping the mutation menu away. ’I need absolute, targeted control over the biological data.’
He leaned back and stared at the system screen.
He knew exactly what he had to do, and that was to upgrade the dungeon again. He needed to unlock the higher-tier administrative perks that gave him total control over organic matter.
But was this really the right time to use up most of his saved mana?
He had just taken over an entire city and now he had thousands more people. The political backlash from the royal court was still there so he wondered if it really is the right time for it.
Adrian tapped his fingers against the table while leaning on it before he picked up his chair and sat down on it again.
’Maybe now isn’t the time to...’ he thought to himself.
He looked at the papers and thought about the insane amount of money and logistical freedom it would give him if he managed to make it work. He wouldn’t have to buy meat from outside anymore.
’Actually, no.’ Adrian made up his mind. ’This is the absolute perfect time to do it.’
It wasn’t because it made perfect sense, but because he just wanted to do it. It was just that simple.
He sat up straight and pulled up his main Dungeon Status screen.
[Dungeon Status]
Name: Dungeon Of Prosperiry
Rank: E
Dungeon Master: Adrian Sterling
Mana Reserves: 20,000/20,000
Current settings: Custom Dungeon
Unlocked Settings: Resource Dungeon.
Thanks to his massive new population constantly interacting with the gacha wheel to farm daily iron ingots, his mana reserves were completely maxed out and he actually had millions more in the form of mana crystals.
He didn’t hesitate for even a single second and navigated to the upgrade tab.
[Upgrade Dungeon to Rank D?]
[Cost: 20,000 Mana]
’Yes.’, he thought, ’System, tell me how much mana I have in the form of mana crystals.’
[Current Mana: 6,241,742]
’Alright then, let’s splurge some money but before that...’ he thought as he looked at the new screen that popped up.

Mana Siphon Unique Biomes
Adrian checked both of their discriptions. Mana siphon passively absorbed mana from the atmosphere, which meant that the dungeon could increase it’s mana even without having people walk into it. It would be very useful if the dungeon was a traditional one where the monsters tried to kill the humans that entered, but for Adrian who already could passively generate mana without putting his people in danger, it was pretty much useless.
Especially when it’s mana absorption rate was pretty low.
As for unique biomes, it allowed him to set up environmental areas, areas with high mana concentration and stuff like that. He didn’t particularly like it but he knew that it would be pretty useful if he wished to use it. But for now, he just picked it because he had to pick the one that was less useless to him.
[Upgrade Dungeon to Rank C?]

Undead Unlock Golem Unlock
Both of them were similar dungeon abilities. One gave Adrian the ability to summon or use Undead monsters while the other gave him the ability to use golems instead. Undead monsters were much cheaper to produce and their stamina was basically infinite.
Meanwhile, the golems were much stronger and their one drawback was the fact that every single one of their movements cost mana, which Adrian didn’t really like.
So at the end, he went unlocked the undead.

Inorganic Awakening Organic Synthesis
Adrian read through the descriptions and kicked the table’s leg in annoyance. Inorganic awakening gave basic sentience to inorganic objects like swords and stuff. It also improved the intelligence of golems since they were technically inorganic too. With this ability’s combination with Golems, they could do much more complex tasks now.
But, he couldn’t go back and change his choice since he had already picked Undead.
He read about Organic Synthesis and consoled himself. It gave him exactly what he wanted originally, which was the flexibity to change a creature’s design, abilities, and basically almost everything.
’This is what I wanted... there’s no regrets! No regrets at all!!’ he coped as he picked the Organic synthesis option. Inorganic Awakening didn’t really have much of a use to him since he didn’t have golems anymore. What’s the use of a talking sword or a talking brick when they didn’t do anything more than what they were created for?
[Upgrade Dungeon to Rank A?]

[A/N: I’m gonna have to do a bit of research (a lot probably) before I write the next few Chapters. So I’ll either do one more Chapter after a while and give you guys 8 tomorrow. Or I’ll toss 9 of them directly instead.]
