Chapter 123: Chimera Creation

[A/N: Like I said, since I did 4 Chapters yesterday. Here’s 8 today]

Almost one month later.

Adrian walked into the dungeon. He walked past the gacha wheel room and stopped in front of a completely blank wall. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂

A large hole magically appeared in the wall and Adrian stepped through the opening and the stone wall instantly materialized right back into place behind him.

He was standing inside his massive, completely secret storage room.

The room was filled with the sounds of multiple farm animals that he had managed to gather in the past month.

Hundreds of different creatures just walked around. Adrian looked over the chaotic scene with a satisfied expression. He had spent an absurd amount of money and time gathering this exact collection of livestock.

There were dozens of different cow breeds. Some were massive and built for heavy labor. Others were prized for producing rich milk, and some were raised purely for their tender meat.

There were multiple variations of sheep. He had imported breeds known for incredibly fast wool growth and others known for producing premium quality mutton. There were other kinds too.

There were several types of pigs heavily prized for their dense fat yields.

And standing awkwardly in the corner of the room was a small herd of camels.

The camels had been the biggest issue to acquire. The Crestwall Empire did not naturally house desert animals, but Adrian needed their specific biological traits for his upcoming experiment.

Getting all of these animals into Oresfall had been a massive headache.

Because Adrian was officially just a Baron. And in the strict political hierarchy of the empire, magical infrastructure was heavily restricted based on noble titles.

Barons were not legally permitted to own or operate long distance magical communication centers. They definitely were not allowed to build magical transportation portals which weren’t even given to the viscounts and counts. Those high tier magical transportation towers were exclusively reserved for Marquises and Dukes.

Since Adrian had completely destroyed the communication center in Viscount Alexander’s city during the recent war, he had absolutely no way to contact the others quickly.

Due to this, he had no choice but to travel.

He had to pack his bags and ride his horse straight into Marchioness Vaneira’s territory. He had to walk right into his ex wife’s border cities just to use the magic communication.

Luckily for him, the local guards did not stop him. They had no legal reason to deny a neighboring Baron access to a public utility. Adrian had not officially declared war on Vaneira and she had no grounds to arrest him just for sending a few messages.

So he paid the expensive connection fees and had contacted Duke Silas and Marquis Draven. He asked them to use their massive networks to source the absolute best, most premium breeds of livestock in existence.

He told them he needed specific cattle, sheep, pigs, and extremely rare camels. And he offered to pay absolute premium prices to have them securely transported to Oresfall as fast as physically possible.

The two of them delivered their promises, but the process still took time.

It took roughly four weeks for the massive merchant caravans to slowly cross the empire and arrive at the gates of Oresfall. A full month of waiting just to get the raw biological materials he needed. He knew that it would take time, so he also got a few others things that he’d need to get his plans going.

But looking at the crowded room now, the wait was completely worth it.

Adrian used his Dungeon Link skill.

’System.’ Adrian commanded mentally. ’Scan every single living creature in this room. Record their complete genetic codes, anatomical structures, and biological traits.’

[Affirmative. Scanning...]

[Biological scanning complete and Data Stored.]

Adrian nodded. ’Good. Now break them down. Meat, fat, bones, hide, all of it should be separated. As for the organs... just destroy it.’

He did not want to deal with feeding or housing a chaotic zoo of random animals. He just wanted the resources.

The process was instantaneous and completely bloodless. Adrian did not even have to watch because the cows, sheep, pigs, and camels simply vanished. The room was cleaned up instantly after that.

The dungeon systematically separated the organic matter. It stripped the raw meat from the bones, separated the fat from the muscle tissues and cleanly removed the hides and sheared the wool.

All of the perfectly processed end products were automatically teleported into his specialized, storage rooms on a different floors.

The massive stone room was suddenly super quiet and completely empty.

Adrian then used dungeon link once more and made the floor expand upwards, making it take the shape of a chair.

It was hard, cold, and not comfortable at all, but Adrian didn’t care. After all, this stationary chair was much better than sitting inside a carriage that moved over bumpy roads.

Adrian sat down on the stone chair and pulled up his system interface.

It was time to put his ultimate plan into motion.

’System.’ Adrian called out. ’Access the biological data of every single animal you just scanned. Cross reference those genetic traits with the monsters in the Monster Catalogue.’

The translucent blue screen flickered as it prepared to process the massive workload.

’I want you to synthesize a completely new monster breed.’ Adrian dictated. ’I need a creature that perfectly satisfies a very specific set of conditions.’

He leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees.

’Condition one.’ Adrian said. ’The creature must yield a massive amount of meat.’

’Condition two. It must have an accelerated growth cycle, which means that it needs to reach full physical maturity extremely fast.’

’Condition three. This is the most important part.’ Adrian stressed his words. ’The creature must possess a highly specialized organ or a specific physical location on its body where all of the toxic, chaotic monster mana is completely concentrated. Every single drop of unstable magic must be securely stored in that one specific spot. The rest of its physical body must maintain absolutely zero toxicity.’
