The Whole Internet is Shipping Me with My Ex-Boyfriend
Chapter 436 - 4: You Are My Yuanyuan
Quan Jin put on a stern face, "Quan Suisui!"
"Huh?"
Suisui looked up at Quan Jin with a curious expression.
Quan Jin hesitated for a moment before realizing that he hadn’t paid much attention to his daughter. He only knew her name because he had heard her grandmother call her Suisui, and he had simply followed suit, even adding their family name.
What is her full name?
Quan Jin: "What’s your full name?"
Suisui understood the question and sweetly replied, "I’m called Medicine."
Quan Jin twitched his lips, "Medicine, huh..."
Suisui corrected with a serious face, "That’s right, Medicine."
"Medicine, hmm... sounds terrible."
The name Medicine sounds awful.
Who came up with it...?
Who else could it be? Probably that woman.
Quan Jin rubbed his face where Suisui had stepped on him. Those two little feet nearly warped his face. He went to the bathroom to tidy up a bit and changed his clothes. When he came out, he saw Suisui standing outside the bathroom door, looking up at him.
Quan Jin asked, "Waiting for me?"
Suisui nodded obediently.
"Hungry?" Quan Jin asked.
Suisui shook her head again.
Quan Jin bent down to pick Suisui up, hefting her in his arms: "So light, do you know how much you weigh?"
Suisui said, "Not heavy, Mom says I’m not heavy."
Quan Jin grinned. Waking up to see a soft little bundle, and this little bundle was his daughter, put him in a great mood, making him forget entirely about the face-stomping incident from earlier: "Come on, let’s wash your face."
He carried Suisui into the bathroom.
The bathroom was spacious enough.
Quan Jin placed Suisui on the round stone platform beside the sink, which was covered with a plush rug, so it wouldn’t be cold to sit on.
He didn’t know much about taking care of kids, so he could only follow some basic routines.
The basics included washing the face and brushing the teeth. He took a new towel from the cabinet above the sink, wet it, wrung it out, and began to wash Suisui’s face.
His technique wasn’t exactly refined, and Suisui started wailing, "I can’t see, I can’t see, I can’t see."
Quan Jin coaxed, "You’ll see once we’re done washing."
A few more swipes, and he was done.
The towel was wrung out, but with his face-washing method, Suisui’s bangs were thoroughly wet. Looking at Suisui’s strands of hair on her forehead, Quan Jin couldn’t help bursting into laughter.
Suisui pouted.
Quan Jin immediately stopped laughing and even praised, "Looks good, pretty."
Though both words were redundant.
But they were enough to express his admiration.
What girl can resist being called pretty? Little girls are no exception, and Suisui’s eyes filled with a galaxy of stars with her smile, truly beautiful.
Quan Jin took out a new toothbrush, but it was for an adult. He went out to instruct the staff to bring a child’s toothbrush and toothpaste.
The staff acted quickly, and soon they brought them. Upon asking, Quan Jin found out that the grandmother had already prepared them.
Suisui wasn’t cooperating much with brushing her teeth, her mouth full of bubbles as she chattered non-stop, either singing or talking about things at the early education center. She even asked Quan Jin, "Am I gonna be late?"
Quan Jin wiped the bubbles off the little girl’s mouth: "No school today."
"Yay~ no school~"
"Come on, drink some water, spit out the bubbles in your mouth."
"Ah woo... glug glug glug~"
"Glug glug... all done."
Quan Jin: "..."
A little stunned.
Did she... just swallow it?
"Aren’t you supposed to spit it out?" Even Quan Jin was confused for a moment, forgetting whether the rinse was meant to be spat out or swallowed, it was quite baffling.
Suisui widened her eyes: "...Oh, I forgot, don’t be mad, next time I won’t."
Quan Jin: "..."
Because of the swallowed rinse incident, Quan Jin nagged for quite a while, while Suisui listened in one ear and out the other, the old father almost shedding a bitter tear.
Tying hair is also an art.
Quan Jin wasn’t good at it at all.
After fiddling around for ages, it looked terrible no matter how he tried, even he was displeased, but Suisui wasn’t, constantly praising how good it looked, which oddly comforted Quan Jin’s heart.
After struggling, Quan Jin ultimately gave up and just brushed Suisui’s hair, leaving it loose.
Suisui touched her head, finding her tied-up hair gone, and looked at Quan Jin: "Looks good."
Quan Jin: !
Although the old father was deeply moved, that hairstyle just couldn’t be seen outside.
Suisui gestured a bit to show Quan Jin: "Like this, looks good, extra pretty good."
The word "especially" wasn’t clearly pronounced, so Suisui repeated: "Extra, extra especially good."
Quan Jin chuckled: "Next time, not today, there are too many people today."
He was afraid that once they went out, people would laugh at Suisui’s hairstyle, not that it mattered, but if Suisui publicly stated it was done by him, he would lose face.
Holding Suisui, Quan Jin finally became consciously aware that he seemed to be on the path to becoming a qualified father.
Though not quite there yet.
Just washing faces, brushing teeth, and tying hair already felt difficult and bothersome.
"I want to find Mom," Suisui said.
"You don’t know where she lives?"
Suisui shook her head.
Of course, this old house was so big and full of rooms, a child so small would definitely need guidance to find their way.
"Alright, I’ll take you back first." Quan Jin carried Suisui outside.
He knew the woman was in the West Wing.
He hadn’t seen her yet, so why not pay her a visit and see what Suisui’s biological mother looked like.
