The Whole Internet is Shipping Me with My Ex-Boyfriend
Chapter 537 - 3: His Memory Malfunctioned_3
"Are you getting used to everything over there?" Gu Yuan asked him.
"Yeah, it’s alright." ’Alright’ was the honest answer.
Gu Yuan said, "I just called Yao Tao, and tonight you’ll stay in my room."
The listless Chi Yu’s eyes lit up instantly: "The one you stayed in?"
"Yes, the one I stayed in, which Yao Tao usually keeps empty for me unless the guesthouse is fully booked and there are no rooms available. Then, my room will be used for guests. Tonight you can stay there, how about that?"
"Sounds great." He got up, ready to head into the room.
Gu Yuan knew his impatience and reminded him, "I just talked to Yao Tao, and the room needs a bit of cleaning. It’s been empty for a long time and there’s dust."
As they were talking over the phone, they couldn’t see each other.
Gu Yuan didn’t know how much Chi Yu’s mood had improved.
She only heard him hum in response.
Gu Yuan stifled a laugh and asked, "Does that hum mean you’re in a good mood or a bad one?"
Chi Yu paused in surprise.
In that moment, he suddenly realized that Gu Yuan’s call wasn’t a random coincidence at this time, but that she knew how he felt and called him deliberately.
The feeling of being cared for was wonderful.
Almost immediately, Chi Yu’s face was filled with a joyful smile as he replied, "It means I’m in a good mood."
Gu Yuan said, "Then, if you’re happy, I’m happy too."
Gu Yuan rarely took the initiative to say such things, and when she did, it was quite alluring to him.
It made Chi Yu’s already grinning mouth nearly reach the back of his head.
However, he soon stopped smiling.
A yellow dog, appearing out of nowhere, suddenly ran enthusiastically towards Chi Yu. It was dark in the distance, and Chi Yu couldn’t see clearly at first, until the dog ran closer and he realized it was a dog.
He wasn’t afraid of dogs.
But country dogs tend to be fierce.
Chi Yu instinctively thought that the dog was rushing to attack him, so he told Gu Yuan they’d chat later and then hung up the phone, getting up to run.
As he started running, the dog got even more excited.
Thinking Chi Yu was playing with it, it wagged its tail and joyfully dashed after him.
The next second, tragedy struck.
Chi Yu was knocked off balance by the dog. He was about to stabilize when his front foot couldn’t step forward, tripping over the dog, and he ended up sprawled on the ground in an awkward position.
His head hit the ground first, striking his left temple. Pain radiated through his body, and he frowned, but his forehead hurt even more.
"Hiss..." he hissed softly from the pain.
It really hurt.
The commotion created a loud noise, alarming those inside the guesthouse.
After tripping Chi Yu, Huang was joyfully licking his clothes, hair, and face, as if delighted to see an old friend after a long time.
Chi Yu: "..."
He felt like he was falling apart!
His face, clothes, and hair were covered in slobber.
He thought it was a vicious dog, but it turned out to be a friendly one.
The people in the guesthouse came running out at the noise, only to see Chi Yu lying on the ground being licked all over by a yellow dog.
Everyone: "..."
...
Two hours later.
Having bathed and washed his hair, changed his clothes, and with bandages on his forehead, Chi Yu lay silently on the bed.
The wound on his forehead was treated by the show staff; it hadn’t bled, just bruised, with signs of swelling. Disinfected, with a dust-free bandage, it felt a bit better.
People came in one by one to offer Chi Yu some words of comfort.
It was just misfortune, with fate acting as an accomplice.
Seeing the bandage on Chi Yu’s forehead, everyone could barely hold back their laughter despite wanting to.
Sheng Yi, however, was less restrained, standing by the bedside saying, "Not so popular with people, but quite popular with dogs, huh?"
Chi Yu: "..."
From being fine to being infuriated in an instant by that remark!
Sheng Yi’s laughter wasn’t overly exaggerated, but the mockery was evident, and Chi Yu couldn’t bear to look, ignoring it altogether.
"Alright, rest well and recover. In the next few days, you’ll enjoy the royal treatment. Everyone will take good care of you, the injured one."
Chi Yu: "..."
Chi Yu warned Sheng Yi not to tell Gu Yuan about his injury, not wanting her to worry.
Even though Sheng Yi usually tells Gu Yuan everything, he didn’t this time, knowing Yuanyuan’s temperament. She was in Yanjing, and if she knew, she might rush over, leaving Suisui behind.
Sheng Yi was considerate of the overall situation.
Late at night.
Everyone had gone to sleep.
The door to Chi Yu’s room opened slowly, and he stepped out.
Downstairs, Yao Tao hadn’t rested yet. After tidying up and helping the crew all day, she was exhausted, and was just getting ready to rest when she saw a silhouette moving.
When she looked closely.
Before she could get a clear look, she saw that person open the guesthouse’s main gate and leave.
"Hey, where are you going at this hour? The bathroom’s not outside!"
"Hey!"
She called out twice, but the person didn’t respond, just walking out as if in a hurry.
Yao Tao realized something was off, put her things down, and chased after them.
The car lights were already on. She didn’t know where he got the car keys from, but he got in and was now reversing.
At this hour, she hadn’t heard anyone say they were leaving.
Even if they were, they should have said something.
Yao Tao chased after and called out: "Where are you going? Wait a minute..."
The car had successfully turned around, and Yao Tao simply stood in front to block it, but the car lights blinded her, making it hard to see the person inside. But she was sure it was the young man related to the owner.
Yao Tao continued to ask, "You need to explain where you’re going, it’s late, don’t run around aimlessly."
"Move!"
Chi Yu’s voice came from the car.
But his voice wasn’t like it had been during the day.
His expression could be described as gloomy.
Really, who had offended him!
Yao Tao seized the opportunity to run up to the car window: "Where are you going? Did you let the crew know? If you’ve informed them, you can go, otherwise you can’t leave. I’m responsible for everyone staying at the guesthouse."
"...Going to find Yuanyuan, a storm will hit tonight, she’s in danger... she’s waiting for me..."
Chi Yu spoke, staring straight ahead.
As if talking to himself.
But those eyes were determined.
And it seemed to make up for some kind of regret...
"...The storm is coming, Yuanyuan is waiting for me, Yuanyuan really is waiting for me there, she’s in danger."
Yao Tao had no idea what he was talking about.
Yuanyuan was indeed the owner.
But what danger was she in?
This person seemed possessed.
"Hey, come out of the car, let’s discuss whatever it is. It seems like you’re not in a good state, you really shouldn’t be driving..."
Before she could finish, the car suddenly shot forward.
Yao Tao was brushed aside by the force, stumbling back a few steps, fortunately unharmed.
But that person...
Yao Tao was puzzled: "What on earth is wrong with him?!"
Early the next morning.
Chi Yu was found and brought back.
According to Lin Xijiang, when they found Chi Yu, he was parked on the road where Yanyan had experienced a landslide a few years ago, sleeping in the car. They found him still asleep inside.
Upon waking, he asked, "Why am I here?"
Lin Xijiang: "..."
Others: "..."
Seeing the bandage on his head, everyone speculated that last night’s collision might have caused a problem with his head?
Sheng Yi, seeing Chi Yu get out of the car, curiously asked, "Where did you go last night?"
Chi Yu replied coldly, "Don’t know."
He really had no idea.
Sheng Yi said, "Sister Yao mentioned you insisted on driving out last night, thought you might be possessed."
Chi Yu paused in his steps.
He glanced sideways at Sheng Yi, "Maybe... it’s possible?"
