The Whole Internet is Shipping Me with My Ex-Boyfriend
Chapter 586: Suisui Calls Out "Daddy" on Camera_3
Chi Yu didn’t offer comfort, just said, "Then just throw it away."
"Can we just wipe it?" Suisui tried not to sweat the small stuff.
Chi Yu shook his head, "No, throw it away."
Suisui hesitated for a few seconds and then threw the dirty candy into the trash can next to the yard.
After throwing it away, Suisui seemed even more downcast, returned to Chi Yu’s side, said nothing, first burrowed into Chi Yu’s arms, wrapped her small arms around his neck tightly, her little face buried in Chi Yu’s shoulder.
So downcast, it was palpable.
"Suisui?"
"Mm." A very soft response, weak and listless.
"Not happy?"
"Not at all." Lying.
Chi Yu couldn’t hold back a smile, because he didn’t want to laugh out loud, his shoulders shook while suppressing it. In such a sad atmosphere, his laughter was undoubtedly the biggest blow to Suisui.
Clearly upset yet he still laughed.
"Hmph." Suisui huffed, even buried the half-exposed chin completely, so angry that her hair was almost standing on end.
Why say all of it.
Because some of Suisui’s hair was already sticking up, all those fine, light baby hairs, maybe this is what’s called frizzy hair?!
"Alright, don’t be mad." He coaxed.
"Hmph!" 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
"Chi Yao."
"Mm."
"Look what this is."
Using the same magic trick as before, he conjured another candy, exactly the same as the last one.
At first, Suisui only sneaked a peek, but then couldn’t look away.
"It’s candy!"
"Yes, it’s candy. Do you want it?"
"Mm mm mm~"
The voice was noticeably happier than before, while the photographer behind them captured every single expression of Suisui from various angles.
This time it was not just one candy, but many, many candies.
Chi Yu took out all the candies from his pocket.
"There’s another one."
"And another one."
"This one, this one, and this one too."
"Chi Yu has so many candies~"
The little girl was so happy, dancing around, picking up candy after candy that Chi Yu conjured up, until her tiny hands could barely hold them, and Chi Yu kept conjuring more.
"So many candies, Chi Yu, I can’t hold them all."
"Chi Yu, I really can’t hold them all."
"Chi Yu, can you help me hold the candies, please?"
Chi Yu didn’t agree, but coaxed the little girl into a deal: "Call me ’Dad’, okay?"
When they were together, Suisui rarely called him Dad, unless she was very upset, having been wronged at Gu Yuan’s place, then she would softly call him Dad.
But usually, she never called him that, always left and right calling Chi Yu incessantly.
Suisui had accepted Chi Yu as her Dad by herself, in her understanding, he’s not the kind of father who is always there by her side like other children’s fathers.
While Chi Yu was thinking, the girl suddenly ran off.
Watching Suisui’s receding back, Chi Yu couldn’t help but smile bitterly, the years missed in accompanying his daughter’s growth weren’t easy to recover, time can heal everything, but it still takes quite a while.
The photographer, hearing Chi Yu’s bitter laugh, as a man, approached and put a hand on Chi Yu’s shoulder to offer comfort: "Don’t be discouraged, it’s common for things to be like this after a divorce; distant wife, estranged child, all very normal. But no matter what, you’ve at least gone through the significant phases of love, marriage, and divorce in life; look at me, I haven’t even held a girl’s hand till now, don’t even know if my future girlfriend is in kindergarten or middle school."
Chi Yu: "..."
What he said seemed all reasonable.
And again seemed all nonsense.
However, there were two points that hit home.
The usual phenomenon after divorce is distant wife, estranged child.
Just when he felt extremely melancholic, Suisui, who had run ahead, suddenly turned around, looked at Chi Yu and called, "Daddy, let’s go~"
Chi Yu was stunned.
Seeing Chi Yu unresponsive, little Suisui ran back again, came right before him and said, "Let’s go, Daddy."
Chi Yu came back to his senses, then bent down to pick up his daughter.
"Ah, my candies~"
As Chi Yu picked her up, all the candies tightly grasped in Suisui’s little hands almost fell.
"Chi Yu~"
"What?"
"I mean Daddy."
"Mm, it’s Daddy." Chi Yu lowered his head and kissed his daughter’s forehead lovingly.
The photographer nearby watched enviously.
So envious that saliva almost dripped out of Yanjing, it must have been the lemon fish tonight with too much lemon juice, making it so sour.
...
Chi Yu was in a great mood, holding Suisui as they went upstairs and back to the room, where Gu Yuan had just finished her bath and was sitting there drying her hair with a towel.
Hearing the father and daughter come in, she turned around, seeing her daughter with a handful of candies running towards her.
"Where did the candies come from?" she asked.
Suisui, beaming with joy, replied, "Daddy gave them."
When Suisui called out "Daddy," Gu Yuan was momentarily taken aback, then she looked up at Chi Yu’s smug, almost punch-worthy expression and instantly understood that Suisui wouldn’t so easily call him Dad, it seems Chi Yu coaxed her quite a bit downstairs.
"Feeling happy?" She hung the toweled hair cap up, not intending to ruin his mood.
Chi Yu sat by the bed, leaning on it with one hand, his voice full of pride and thrill revealing his current mood: "Not just happy, but satisfied too."
Gu Yuan walked back to the bed and chuckled: "Look at how little ambition you have."
Chi Yu pulled her to sit down, speaking in a negotiating tone, "Can the ex-husband stay here tonight?"
"You’ve already called yourself the ex-husband, still asking?"
"Then I won’t ask, I’ll just stay."
