The Wild Doctor and the Fair Beauty
Chapter 310: He Won’t Harass You Anymore
"Divine Doctor Jiang!"
The creep was clinging to Meng Lihua’s legs, and she had sunk into despair.
But when she suddenly saw Jiang Xinghai appear majestically in the doorway, her expression shifted to one of joyous surprise.
"Don’t worry, Sister Meng. I’m here."
Jiang Xinghai gave Meng Lihua a reassuring look before turning to glare sternly at the creep.
"You scumbag! Get your filthy hands off her!"
A vast wave of energy erupted from Jiang Xinghai, stirring the still air.
Before the creep could even process what was happening, he was swept off his feet by a violent wave of energy and slammed hard into the corner.
"Sister Meng, are you hurt?"
Jiang Xinghai stepped forward and caught Meng Lihua as she swayed on her feet.
"N-No, I’m okay. I’m fine."
Feeling an unusual warmth emanating from him, Meng Lihua subconsciously collapsed into his arms.
Jiang Xinghai nodded silently, his eyes sweeping over the trashed room. The situation was clear; he understood it all in a single glance.
Even while he was still unconscious, he had faintly sensed the commotion outside.
As his consciousness slowly returned, he heard Meng Lihua’s cry of alarm.
He first checked on Nini, who was still fast asleep, then stepped out and kicked open the door to Apartment 401.
"You! This is none of your business!"
The creep, collapsed in the corner, felt as if all his bones were about to break. He began fumbling around on the floor for something.
He was severely nearsighted, and his glasses had fallen off during the struggle with Meng Lihua. He still hadn’t found them.
"Sister Meng, how did this piece of trash drag you in here?" Jiang Xinghai asked, comforting Meng Lihua while keeping his eyes fixed on the man on the floor.
"I... I had just stepped out of my apartment when he grabbed me..." Meng Lihua nodded emphatically, her words still jumbled.
Clearly, she hadn’t yet recovered from the shock.
’This guy really came prepared.’
Jiang Xinghai’s eyes scanned the floor. "You should go back home. Nini will be waking up soon. I’ll handle things here."
"Can you... handle this by yourself?"
Meng Lihua glanced nervously at the floor, then picked up the dagger lying nearby and handed it to Jiang Xinghai.
"Go on. I’ll be fine."
Jiang Xinghai waved her away. After watching Meng Lihua return to her apartment, he turned his gaze back to the creep still fumbling on the floor. "Looking for this dagger?"
"Give it back!"
The creep didn’t find the dagger, but his fumbling hands found his glasses.
Though the lenses were cracked, he could still make out his surroundings once he put them on.
"You want it back? Sure."
Jiang Xinghai didn’t move, casually tossing the dagger in his hand. "Come and get it."
"Do you think I’m an idiot? Why would I walk over there?"
The creep glared menacingly at Jiang Xinghai, then grabbed a stool and charged, swinging it at him.
Jiang Xinghai sneered. With a single kick, he shattered the incoming stool. He then lunged forward, the dagger in his hand plunging precisely into the creep’s chest.
SQUELCH!
The creep froze instantly.
With a cool turn, Jiang Xinghai walked away.
Initially, he had considered sparing the creep’s life.
After all, a guy like that—a reclusive creep living on the fringes of society—might have deserved a bit of pity.
But!
This man had already decided to harm someone. He couldn’t be allowed to live.
When he returned to Apartment 402, Meng Lihua had just finished washing up and was about to change her clothes.
"Divine Doctor Jiang, that man..." Meng Lihua gestured toward Apartment 401.
"He won’t be bothering you ever again," Jiang Xinghai said with a reassuring smile.
"Thank you, Divine Doctor Jiang." Meng Lihua’s gratitude was beyond what words could express.
If Jiang Xinghai hadn’t shown up in time, she would have been horribly brutalized by that creep.
"When Nini wakes up, I’m moving you and her out of here. A run-down place like this isn’t safe." Jiang Xinghai didn’t explain the creep’s fate, not wanting to cause Meng Lihua any more anxiety.
"I was thinking the same thing." Meng Lihua nodded, then glanced at the sky outside. "Not today, though. It’s getting dark. I’ll look for a new place tomorrow, and then we can move."
"Sister Meng, I suggest you move to Longwei Mansion. The security there is excellent," Jiang Xinghai proposed.
"Longwei Mansion? Oh, no, I couldn’t. That place is far too high-end. I can’t afford it..."
"I own shares in Longwei Mansion, so you and Nini can live there as long as you like," Jiang Xinghai stated plainly.
Meng Lihua was stunned. "But I can’t just live there for free!"
"Please, don’t refuse. Think about Nini’s quality of life, okay?" Jiang Xinghai cut off her hesitation again. "Or, you can pay me back when you’re on your feet again."
"Then... alright. Thank you, Divine Doctor Jiang." Meng Lihua finally relented with a nod.
"Good. You should go look after Nini. She should be waking up soon," Jiang Xinghai said, glancing at the time.
"Oh, wonderful!" Meng Lihua hurried into the bedroom, unable to wait.
Jiang Xinghai went to the doorway of the apartment and lit a cigarette.
’Nini’s still little. Best to avoid smoking around her.’
He then sent a message to Ma Long.
「Five minutes later.」
"Nini, you’re awake!"
Meng Lihua’s alarmed cry suddenly rang out. "Divine Doctor Jiang, come quick! Nini’s whole body is radiating heat...!"
