This Is What a Villain Is Like
Chapter 75 - 68: I Have Missed You Dearly, Sister Dieyi
The painted boat, pulled by the Three-headed Beast, descended directly into the heart of Anyang City.
A retinue of Knights followed close behind, and they all quickly vanished from sight.
A cacophony of shocked chatter was all that remained on the long street. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
But the young woman in white standing before the shop was still fuming.
She possessed a refined beauty and an elegant bearing. Her eyes shimmered like water, captivating and alluring, and her figure was slender and graceful.
Her long, silky black hair cascaded to her waist, giving her the gentle air of a well-bred lady from a noble house.
At this moment, however, she was grinding her teeth, her expression filled with loathing. It was as if all her hatred was directed at the painted boat that had just descended from the sky.
"Senior Sister Zhao, what’s wrong?"
The group of junior sisters at her side couldn’t help but ask.
In their memory, this senior sister had always been the very picture of poised beauty, gentle and approachable. They had never seen her grind her teeth in anger like this.
"It’s nothing. I just thought of a scoundrel. I didn’t expect him to follow me all the way to Anyang City."
The young woman in white, Zhao Dieyi, took a deep breath to calm the heaving of her full chest, forcing herself to cool down.
"Senior Sister Zhao, is the scoundrel you mentioned the person in that painted boat?" one of the female disciples asked with curiosity.
As Disciples of the Jasper Pool Sect, they rarely ventured into the outside world and were unfamiliar with many of its affairs.
This venture out into the world for their Inner Sect assessment was under the complete leadership of Senior Sister Zhao.
Zhao Dieyi looked at her junior sisters and rubbed her temples. "That’s the one," she said. "In any case, if you see that painted boat, take the long way around. Get as far away as you can and make sure that man never lays eyes on you."
"Otherwise, if he sees you, he won’t care that you’re Disciples of the Jasper Pool Sect. He’ll just send his men to abduct you. Not only will you lose your innocence, but you might even be tortured to death."
"He’s a villain through and through."
As she said this, a shadow seemed to pass over her, and her fair complexion darkened.
The group of Jasper Pool Sect disciples before her were all dressed in the Sect’s robes. They were naturally beautiful and graceful, with delicate features and charming figures.
Just by standing there, they formed a beautiful, eye-catching scene.
Upon hearing Zhao Dieyi’s words, many of the girls’ faces turned deathly pale, clearly terrified.
"The man Senior Sister Zhao is talking about... that must be the young master of the Prime Minister’s Mansion, right?"
Just then, one of the young women suddenly spoke up.
Compared to the other disciples, whose robes were adorned with ornaments, her attire was simple and unadorned.
She had a fair, oval face, lustrous red lips, and skin as smooth as jade. Her features were exquisite. Her long black hair was unbound, cascading freely down her back. Perhaps because of her cultivation, her skin seemed to have a faint, inner glow.
Even without a trace of makeup, she possessed a transcendent beauty.
"Yes, that’s him."
Zhao Dieyi glanced at her. She had some impression of this junior sister, whose name was Chu Chan. She was a diligent cultivator who had recently come to her with many questions about her Cultivation Technique.
She nodded and went on to explain, "I ran into that fiend before in Yu Yi City. Luckily, my grandfather was with me at the time, so he behaved himself."
"But I never expected that he’d start chasing me right after I left Yu Yi City. I don’t know who leaked my whereabouts to him."
"I was originally planning to return directly to the Sect, but then I happened to run into you all for the Inner Sect assessment..."
At this, she grew even more frustrated. She couldn’t believe her bad luck; she had secretly slipped away from the Sect to deal with her Absolute Yin Cold Vein, only to run right into Jiang Lan.
After she left Yu Yi City, Jiang Lan had followed.
In Zhao Dieyi’s mind, there was no doubt that Jiang Lan had come to Anyang City because he’d discovered her location and was chasing her.
’That villain... just as Grandfather said, he’s targeted me again.’
A look of realization dawned on the face of the woman named Chu Chan, and she quickly concealed a flicker of envy in her eyes.
’This Senior Sister Zhao before me comes from a scholarly and noble family.’
’Her Zhao Family has deep foundations and could be considered a major aristocratic clan in the entire Great Xia.’
’Her grandfather is even a Great Scholar of his generation, with students all over the world.’
’But compared to the all-powerful Prime Minister’s Mansion, they are still far from a match. And the man in that painted boat is the current Prime Minister’s only son...’
"Senior Sister Zhao’s grandfather is a contemporary Great Scholar! Even the Elders in the Sect greatly admire and respect him."
"That’s right! A Great Scholar of the imperial court must be a Seventh Realm expert at the very least."
Hearing Zhao Dieyi mention her grandfather, many of the Disciples began chattering excitedly, their eyes filled with envy and respect.
Zhao Dieyi felt a little helpless.
Though she didn’t want to rely on her family’s status or her grandfather’s fame, word of it had spread throughout the Sect long ago.
No matter where one went, a Seventh Realm expert was a being who stood far above the masses.
"Junior Sister Zhao, there you are..."
"I’ve booked a private room in the Celestial Building at the Drunken Immortal Residence. I was just waiting for you, Junior Sister Zhao, so I could host a welcome banquet for you and all your junior sisters."
Just then, a hearty laugh echoed from nearby.
A tall man in a brocade robe, surrounded by a retinue of guards, strode toward them.
He had a strong-jawed face and a refined bearing. He exuded the dignified aura of a Confucian scholar, and a divine light shone in his eyes, indicating his cultivation was far from ordinary.
Zhao Dieyi was startled for a moment but quickly composed herself, her expression turning neutral.
"Then I’ll have to trouble you, Senior Brother Wang," she said with a slight nod.
