This Journey to the West is so terrifying
Chapter 331 - 269 One-Horned King
"Halt, who goes there!" A little demon guarding the mountain blocked their way.
Ghost Spider frowned upon seeing this, unaware of when his friend had acquired such a group of demon guards.
"Who are you, and why are you blocking our path?" Ghost Spider asked with a hostile expression.
"We are demon soldiers under the One-Horned King. Who are you, and what are you doing here?" Although the little demons did not recognize Lin Fang and Ghost Spider, they sensed that they were not easy foes and quickly invoked the name of the One-Horned King.
"The One-Horned King, who is he?" Ghost Spider asked, surprised.
It wasn’t that he intentionally disrespected the entity, but being secluded deep in the mountains, he truly didn’t know this newly risen Demon King’s name.
However, such a remark was taken as a severe provocation by the surrounding little demons, as how could the monsters in this area not know their own king’s name? They immediately became uncontrollably angry, chastising Lin Fang and his group for their arrogance.
The surrounding monsters also looked at the people with shock, unable to believe that anyone could be ignorant of the One-Horned King’s name. They mostly took it as a provocation.
"Brothers, attack!"
At the command, the little demons guarding the mountain gate swarmed forward. This was a golden opportunity to show their mettle in front of their king, who was about to unify the hilltops of this generation. Winning his favor could well mean skyrocketing to greatness.
Watching the clamoring little demons rushing towards them, Lin Fang couldn’t even muster interest. These fellows were too weak, having undergone no proper training and knew nothing but to swarm forward; calling them a mob was an elevation.
Bashan Tiger and Yi Hailong, representing several little monsters, finally got a chance to showcase their strength. Like tigers descending the mountain, they charged into the group of monsters, unstoppable and fierce.
These little demons posed no match for them, and within a blink of an eye, they were knocked down to the ground. Seeing their opponents so formidable, the demon commander dared not delay and hurriedly blew the warning whistle.
The piercing sound echoed through the mountains, immediately attracting the attention of the monsters around.
At the mountain summit, the One-Horned King was still trying to persuade the Iron Demon to join him; such a blade-smithing master was a rare find. If he could draw him into his camp, he would instantly dominate the region.
Unfortunately, the Iron Demon was dedicated to his craft and didn’t care for the One-Horned King, thus steadfastly refusing to speak.
"You might as well give up on that idea," the Iron Demon coldly said.
As a renowned blade-smithing master, he was experienced and had met many Demon Kings. The likes of the One-Horned King did not catch his eye.
The One-Horned King naturally sensed the Iron Demon’s disdain and a hint of murderous intent flashed in his eyes, though he suppressed it well.
"Don’t make me force you to drink a penalty if you won’t toast willingly!" the One-Horned King said with a sinister smile.
Not succeeding with the soft approach, he planned to take a harder stance, refusing to believe the Iron Demon would not submit.
"I’m just a blacksmith. If you want to make a move, then go ahead and do it," said the Iron Demon, not even lifting his head, seemingly paying no heed to the One-Horned King’s threat and continuing to immerse himself in weapon forging.
Just then, a sharp whistle sounded in the air, and a chaotic noise rose from the foot of the mountain.
The One-Horned King asked with a somber expression, "What has happened down the mountain?"
A little demon hurriedly came forward and replied, "My king, it’s bad news. Some uninvited guests have appeared at the mountain base. They’ve been rude and also injured many brothers."
"Waste, you can’t even handle this small task," he said. "Wait till I go down and take care of those troublemakers, then I’ll deal with you."
The One-Horned King coldly glanced at the Iron Demon and had someone bring him his Iron Spear before he headed down the mountain, this time to vent the anger he had accumulated because of the Iron Demon.
He led his subordinates furiously to the foot of the mountain and spotted Bashan Tiger and the others fighting among the monsters, causing his eyebrows to frown involuntarily.
Because he realized that although these little guys didn’t look strong, their actual strength was far from low, even stronger than some Demon Kings on the mountain.
"Stop!" shouted the One-Horned King angrily.
Everyone, startled by his voice, involuntarily ceased their movements.
"Who are you to dare cause such a ruckus here!" asked the One-Horned King, his voice lacking its previous murderous intent.
After all, if these Little Demons were so troublesome, those standing behind them might be even stronger. Although he wasn’t extremely smart, he certainly wasn’t stupid. Facing such a group, he naturally hoped to avoid a major conflict.
"What we’re here for is none of your business, now step aside!" Bashan Tiger was not polite at all, knowing that the Iron Demon of this mountain was a good friend of the Ghost Spider, and thus these people were naturally enemies to his group.
Bashan Tiger’s mouth spared no mercy when dealing with enemies, speaking with utter discourtesy.
Hearing this, a vein throbbed on the One-Horned King’s forehead, yet he still managed to restrain himself and said, "Sir, will you just let these Little Demons speak so insolently?" 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
His gaze shifted toward Lin Fang and the others, who were the true instigators.
Lin Fang, hearing this, just smiled and said, "He said it, you have to bear it!"
"It seems you are determined to cross me. Since that’s the case, I won’t hold back any longer. Watch the spear!" As he spoke, his Iron Spear thrust toward Lin Fang and his group.
Seeing this, Ghost Spider chuckled and said, "Since this involves my friend, let me handle it!"
During his time in the Demon Realm, Ghost Spider had indeed broadened his horizons, not only increasing his knowledge but also learning Sword Dao from the White Ape, and he was no longer the same as before. Now seeing the One-Horned King, he was eager to test the fruits of his practice of cultivation.
Lin Fang saw his eagerness to fight and nodded slightly without stopping him, transferring the battlefield to him.
"Commander!" The long sword parried the One-Horned King’s attack, pushing him back two steps.
"Your opponent is me!" Ghost Spider said lightly, swinging the Treasured Sword.
In an instant, a heavy aura surged toward the One-Horned King, filled with a sharpness that carried a hint of destruction, startling the One-Horned King.
"Who are you?" he asked solemnly, sensing that such strength couldn’t belong to an unknown person. The One-Horned King had a premonition that he had encountered a master this time.
"Ghost Spider!"
As soon as these words were spoken, the surrounding monsters’ eyes lit up eagerly.
Although Ghost Spider kept a low profile and seldom left the mountain, there were many legends about him. After all, as a powerful Sword Cultivator, he had defeated many Demon Kings, otherwise Beiliang Mountain wouldn’t have become a forbidden ground for the monsters.
"The Ghost Spider of Beiliang Mountain?" the One-Horned King said with a heavy look.
