This Journey to the West is so terrifying
Chapter 334 - 272 Northern Sea
While Lin Fang was guessing Feng Jiu’s whereabouts, this erstwhile Demon Emperor had already secretly arrived at the Northern Sea.
"Is this the trade route you use for dealings with the Dragon Palace?" Feng Jiu asked softly as she gazed at the open sea.
"Yes, Your Majesty. I always traded with the Northern Sea through this route," said Old Qing Jiao with great respect.
There was not even a hint of fear or worry on his aged face, but rather, he was brimming with excitement and cheer.
"You have toiled hard over the years, gathering so much resources for us," Feng Jiu sighed slightly.
No one could have imagined that this notorious traitor from the Demon Court, Old Qing Jiao, had actually always been a man of the Demon Emperor, enduring humiliation and heavy burdens all these years just to accumulate resources for the reconstruction of the Demon Court.
Such a top-secret matter was known only to the Demon Master and the Demon Emperor. Even the other Great Saints of the Demon Clan were in the dark; otherwise, he would have been secretly eliminated by the Divine Exorcist Great Sage long ago.
"However, now that we have the Demon Realm, these resources seem somewhat insufficient," Old Qing Jiao said with a sigh.
Although he had endeavored to amass a considerable amount, after all, the bulk of it came from the Dragon Palace, and his many years of painstaking efforts amounted to the gathered resources. Perhaps it represented a significant sum for rebuilding the Demon Court, but for the vast expanse of the Demon Realm, it seemed somewhat paltry.
"Who says that? With these resources, at least we can build the cities in the Demon Realm. This time, the Demon Court will certainly take you by surprise," the Flood Dragon Demon King said with a smile.
When they left the Demon Realm, that pocket world had already taken shape, and the former Demon Court had also begun to be rebuilt. He was certain that this time the Demon Court would be even more magnificent and wondrous than before.
Just thinking of the majestic Starry Sky Tree soaring into the heavens made the Flood Dragon Demon King sigh. It was such a mysterious and powerful existence, drawing the endless Stellar Force from the heavens, sprinkling down twinkling starlight, and making the entire Demon Court stunningly beautiful.
"Old Qing Jiao, you don’t know, our newly established Demon Court is truly a sight to behold in the Mortal World. I guarantee that once you see it, you’ll be so enchanted you won’t want to leave."
Hearing this, a smile touched Old Qing Jiao’s face as he said, "Given what you’ve said, I’m already impatient to take a good look."
"After so many years, I’ve finally waited until this moment."
Old Qing Jiao’s words struck a chord, and silence fell upon the group. They had waited far too long for this day, and too many comrades had fallen on this path.
"Hope has arrived, and this time we will not fail again," Feng Jiu said softly, her words full of resolve.
She was no longer the naïve person she once was. The failure of the past had taught her many things, and now, with the Demon Realm, she was standing on invincible ground.
Sometimes, Feng Jiu wondered whether those old men had foreseen this day and that’s why they had not given her the seed of the Starry Sky Tree in the beginning.
Now, inadvertently, it had all fallen into the lap of that rascal Lin Fang.
"I wonder how Lin Fang is faring now. As long as we can clean out the treasures of the Northern Sea Dragon Palace in one fell swoop, we’ll have more than enough capital to build the Demon Realm," the Flood Dragon Demon King said with a smile on his face.
In his eyes seemed to blaze flames, for that was the wealth amassed by the Northern Sea Dragon King over countless years. If the operation was successful, the outcome could hardly be imagined.
They had come to this place not to admire the ocean but for the wealth of the Northern Sea Dragon King.
To think that ever since the Demon Court fell, the Northern Sea Dragon Palace, taking advantage of its unique geographical position, quickly established a stable trade route and accumulated a vast amount of wealth over the years.
Yet this wealth was tainted with the fresh blood of the monsters from Luzhou in the North.
And today, Feng Jiu was on a mission to reclaim that wealth once seized by the Northern Sea Dragon Palace, the riches that rightfully belonged to the Demon Clan.
"Qing Jiao, lead the way!" Feng Jiu said softly.
A flicker of satisfaction crossed Qing Jiao’s face as he replied, "All right, let us go on our debt-collecting journey!"
The group, guided by Qing Jiao, plunged into the water, following a specific route towards the Northern Sea Dragon Palace.
In the depths of the Northern Sea was the brightly lit Crystal Palace, where the glittering lights illuminated the dark seabed. Countless Luminous Pearls adorned the pristine and transparent palace, making the Crystal Palace even more dazzling and stunning.
The palace was guarded with extreme strictness. Rows of Shrimp Soldiers patrolled the territory under the command of the Crab Generals.
Gigantic sea beasts occasionally flashed by, but they all kept a fearful distance from the Crystal Palace, as the place was filled with the oppressive aura of True Dragons.
"So boring, there’s no one blind enough to come to our Crystal Palace in all the Northern Sea; they must be tired of living," a Shrimp Soldier complained.
He wondered what the point of all their patrolling was. Was there really anyone in the Northern Sea daring enough to be an enemy of the Dragon Palace? He would rather spend the time gambling with his friends.
Since such collective activities from the Human Clan were introduced via the trading ships back to the Dragon Palace, these Shrimp Soldiers and Crab Generals had taken a great liking to them, becoming obsessed and wishing to spend all their time at the gambling table.
"Cut down on the complaints. The Three Realms have been anything but peaceful lately!" the lead Crab General said with a heavy heart.
"Captain, have you heard some news again? We know you have close ties with the Crown Prince, so you must have some exclusive news," the Shrimp Soldiers immediately asked with concern.
Their captain had connections and often got hold of top-secret news. For these low-ranking Shrimp Soldiers, the captain’s information was a valuable topic of conversation and excellent bragging material, so they did not want to miss any of it. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
"You don’t know? There’s been a huge mess in the Heavenly Court," the Crab General said with an air of mystery.
"How big a mess? Bigger than the Havoc in Heaven caused by the Great Sage Equalling Heaven?" the Shrimp Soldier asked curiously.
Their impression of the Heavenly Court was not too profound; they only knew that their Dragon Palace was part of it, and knew even less about what happened in the Heavenly Court, except for the widely known event from five hundred years ago when Sun Wukong, the Great Sage Equalling Heaven, caused Havoc in Heaven.
This was mainly because the Great Sage’s weapon and clothes came from the Dragon Palace, making the event more widely disseminated.
"Much bigger than that. An Emperor and countless Immortals started a rebellion; the entire Heavenly Court was engulfed in warfires. It’s said that after the events, the Immortal Slaying Stage was piled with heads, numerous Immortals were executed—an utterly terrifying scene to even think about," the Crab General said, still somewhat shaken.
In the Heavenly Court, those who could be titled as Immortals were honored guests of the Dragon King upon visiting the Crystal Palace. Yet such beings fell in droves in that turbulence.
"No wonder our King has been so nervous these past few days, even intensifying our patrols—it turns out such a major event occurred," a Shrimp Soldier murmured to himself.
